My hospital supplied a tummy band and it was awesome!

I used the sleeve surgery because the band is dangerous and the bypass has dumping and as a type 1, if you get a low the dumping prevents you from eating sugar to bring it back up.

I think what your describing is what we call foaming. It's. normal and as your tummy heals it gets better. Usually if you eat too fast or portion too big. We all do it.

MrsGina reacted to NtvTxn in 5 months out. Stomach spasms
I started getting stomach spasms a year ago, about two years after surgery. I don't attribute them to the surgery. I was afraid it was diverticulitis or something more serious, luckily it's not. Now I know the symptoms and when my tummy starts feeling a certain way, I start taking my medication. I did go to the doctor and get something to take. One pill every four hours, usually one or two and I'm fine. There is no rhyme or reason with this either, it's not like it happens when I eat certain food, but it is always after I eat, and I'm pretty sure, never the same food. I'll just start getting a bloated feeling. The first time, I had no idea, and it went on for three or four days, sometimes pretty severe pain.....I finally decided before the weekend, I should do something. I didn't want to risk ending up in the ER. Anyway.....very strange!

Since I started this journey, I notice more overweight ppl and have to say a prayer for them.
Our prayers work and I know how hard it is to lose weight so I want to pray and be compassionate for others.
So sad that the biggest issue is ppl are treated unkindly because of their weight.

MrsGina reacted to SpaceDust in Willpower.... Do You Have It?
Overall, I probably have about a 7. Some days I am a 10, and some days I think I'm about a minus 5000... okay, really about a 3. Seriously, it's normal to have ups and downs - if you're highly stressed or exhausted or ill willpower becomes more difficult to maintain. Under normal circumstances, I can keep myself on track, but there are days where I ditch going to the gym or decide that I *am* going to eat a few spoons of seriously good ice cream - but I have enough willpower to still go out and have a walk or honestly only eat about a 1/4 cup of the ice cream. Other days I pull my big girl panties up tight and tough it out.
We're human. We won't be perfect. There's every chance we will make not-wise choices occasionally. The more important thing is acknowledging and owning the mistake, picking yourself up and getting back on track. Don't let guilt send you into a downward spiral. Don't let it get out of control and send you into a cheating binge. One small cheat is not a failure - it's a setback that is usually easily dealt with.

The main one I noticed on You tube is to look up and kiss the ceiling. I tried it and can feel the stretch.

My heart hurts for the people of Boston. From someone who was 3 blocks from the 9/11 attacks & lost 3 friends that day, it just makes me so numb that it's happening again...my thoughts & prayers go out to ALL of us. The world we are living in now is not the safe place that I grew up in....

The Good: down 73 lbs, no surgery issues, no gas pains......then I went home
The bad: infection set in, luckily my drain was still in place. Leak test and barium for MRIs awful.
The ugly: the puss coming through the drain was soooo gross.
The Happy: that is all behind me and feeling good about my weight loss.
Will not start posting pics till my son has seen me. He hasn't seen me since I started this journey. So I've lost 73 lbs since he's seen me, wonder if he'll know it's me?

    I'm 50 and ...
    - never lived a day without God's love surrounding me (even when I didn't recognize it)
    - never gave up hope that my life has purpose and meaning (even on the roughest days - and there were many)
    - never stopped praying for my husband (whom I've yet to meet - well, unless I know him and don't know it yet!)
    - never lived without an amazing animal in my life (right now it's Howard the cat and Riley the corgi)
    - never enjoyed my body, flexibility, energy, health more than I am now
(ok, ok - I've never been waxed either)

MrsGina got a reaction from PdxMan in My marriage sucks
Coming from someone who has been married for almost 35 years.
There are a lot of things to consider before making such a big decision.
Is he a good husband, a good father, does he help you? Why is he so unhappy with his job, does he go even if he hates it. Will extra schooling help him improve his situation.
I don't know him so I can't judge if he's good or bad. You love him so he must have some good qualities.
35 years has not been all roses but loyalty and sacrifice are all about commitment. And remember he loved you fat, how many men would do that?
    God bless you both!
