Hi Gina, I was blessed with my best friend who lives in another county - 21 miles one way coming daily the first week to check up on me and another good friend who did additional shopping of juices, popsicles, Dasani water and sports drink - I thought I had stocked up well but missed the mark. another friend made homemade veggie clear broth - 5/qts. I was in the hospital for 4 day - was suppose to be 3 days but they had to do 2 blood transfusions. I do not remember being emotional but extremely tired for 3 weeks. I did extensive bed rest and 3 /10 minutes walks in the backyard daily unitl the 4th week. I am not sure of those "jinormous headaches" - could be stress, nutritional deprivation, hormones or shock. Whatever it is be on continual contact daily or twice a day with your doctors - yes ALL of them. Its their job and you are their top priority. Also obtain psychological & psychiatric couseling your husband is your support but not a professional counselor. Crying is a favorite for me because of the release of emotional toxins. Prayer, deep breathing and meditation (I like OT Proverbs - I am a wisdom junkie). Comedy movies - ancient, old & new - laughter is a healing component too. BE ENCOURAGE & BE WELL.

Gina, don't worry it WILL get better! I'm 55 and had my sleeve on Nov 6, 2012, and am 3 months out now. I had a rough time in the beginning too. I had two hernias fixed at the same time, and I have Celiac, so can't eat any gluten. I thought in the first few weeks, did I make a mistake, because I felt like crap! All I can tell you is hang in there it will get a little better each day! I have lost a total of 89 pounds now counting my 6 month before diet I lost 50 pounds, and counting 39 pounds post sleeve! I can't wait until this summer to be able to do so many more things than I use to do! Keep on, keeping on!

hi gina i am 58 sleeved nov. 2012, i had to back up and go on clears 3x, and compared to alot of women on this site. i am a slow looser. crying is relative, are you a crier? are you in pain? its just alittle salt water. my gram always said,"the more you cry the less you pee". find some little thing you can do, get some rest, treat your headache, hold your husbands hand and tell him a joke. and tonight when you say your prayers, say a prayer to the Holy Spirit for courage to get through this....gee i think i will go and take some of my own advice....be good to yourself, we care

I know where you're coming from. I woke up from recovery thinking, "My God! What have I done to myself!!!!!!!!!??????????"
I read so many posters saying, This was so easy - I had no pain or nausea - Only 3 days and back at work. I was hoping for the same easy path, but I was in real pain for about 6 days.
I couldn't eat much more than a couple of nibbles of a popsicle or a bite or 2 of sugar free Jell-O.
My stomach gurgled almost constantly - all day and all night. Sleeping more than an hour or two was the limit before the pain would wake me up.
But things kept getting better and by day 8 I was doing MUCH better and on day 10, I was back at work with no pain or discomfort.
It's day 31 for me, and I would do it all over again - as long as I didn't know about the pain thing
Things will get better, I promise. Just hang in there.

I purchased the unjury soup but it said to use warm water not hot. I just can't stand warm soup, it has to be hot. All the packets have a certain temp to keep it at. Not sure I like this

So far the pre diet is going well. Worried about getting surgery before the end of year. Can't afford co-pay and co-insurance all at once in the new year. Waiting on surgeons reply on what he can do to resolve this. Keep praying it all works out.
Gave away all my big summer cloths, being positive no matter what.
I'm planning on visiting all those resale cloths shops after surgery, not gonna spend too much money on cloths I will shrink out of. Lol
Now I'm thinking of starting at Curves, there's one a block from my house. I'm motivated on diet but still not into exercise. I hope that comes soon, I know I need it but I guess I need a better attitude about it. Lord, please renew my mind!
All for now, oh I almost forgot, my rings almost fell off my fingers. Only noticeable progress but progress all the same.
    Ok, done now.

Good for you! I've gone to curves before and the people sure make the difference between just going through the moves and actually having fun while you're doing it. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I know everyone has a story. I enjoyed sharing mine. I have to say that on this site, there are so many people that feel the same way. It makes me happy to know I am not the only one struggling with food choices or guilt for eating.
