What Vitamins Are You Taking?
MrsGina replied to Summer-smile's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought vit B has to be under tongue or in a shot after surgery. Was told because it needs to go into the blood stream -
I had to give myself shots for a different surgery, it was very helpful. Make sure you anesthesia doc knows your concerns and can give you something in your I V. Be careful cause they do slow your digestion.

Who's Eating Pureed Foods Already?
MrsGina replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
PdxMan, how does the bullet work for meat? Been considering getting one. -
All is well and being sent off to the insurance dept. for approval. Surgeon said they may have trouble getting in before end of the year. He can do it but may not have an operating room available, I told him to,just do it in the hall. Lol. He was impressed with my weight loss, that made me happy. I can even wear a smaller size underwear, yeehoo. I tried some of that UnJury shake stuff and it made me gag, the chocolate wasn't so bad but every thing else I tried was awful. Going on a quest to find something better. Stay tuned, it's getting closer!

Lol, you all are too funny. I'm just happy to have a Hubby to call mine. Married 34+ years, it's all good.

For those of you who have the sleeve, have you gotten the flu and was it different?

Well I joined Curves last week. I've gone before but lacked motivation. This time I have a new attitude and am motivated. The local Curves has a new owner and sure makes it more enjoyable. It just feels good to get moving and not sleep all the time.

Pcp Scared The Crap Outta Me
MrsGina replied to ASKSARAH - Sleeve's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I feel so blessed, my Doc was the one who recommended me getting surgery. I assume a pcp is your doctor. -
Believe it or not, lettuce is extremely hard on your digestive system. My pancreas was removed except for the head in 1993 and I have a really hard time with salads. Some may be able to tolerate it but not many I know of. I can do iceberg pretty well now but romaine is still a problem.

I'm doing the major water drinking but find I'm up all night peeing. Will that ever get better?

I am really anxious to get the surgery done, I'm not good on patience and I won't pray for it. Lol. I have noticed when I'm cleaning dishes, I catch myself before I lick the spoon. Or when my grand daughter leaves a fish stick on her plate to not pop it in my mouth. That must be the mindless eating they keep talking about. This must have to be practiced, but thankfully I've been able to catch myself before its too late. No more licking the knife of peanut butter. Lol

Unflavored Protein Powder.....
MrsGina commented on flawlessly73's blog entry in flawlessly73's Blog
I purchased the unjury soup but it said to use warm water not hot. I just can't stand warm soup, it has to be hot. All the packets have a certain temp to keep it at. Not sure I like this -
Your "large" Incision?
MrsGina replied to GeauxForIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They have to cut me open, one long cut straight down. Too much scar tissue to do the lapo. -
So glad that's over with, the therapist was so nice. He said all is good, no problem areas, so now I'm scheduled for my final surgeon appt on Nov 14th. Not looking forward to getting cut open but ready to get on with it.

You Guys Have Got To See This!

Thank you for sharing this, I wonder if she had skin removed? Amazing person -
There is a robitussin that is for diabetics, no sugar or alcohol. Not had surgery yet but am a bad diabetic and that's what I take.

So far the pre diet is going well. Worried about getting surgery before the end of year. Can't afford co-pay and co-insurance all at once in the new year. Waiting on surgeons reply on what he can do to resolve this. Keep praying it all works out. Gave away all my big summer cloths, being positive no matter what. I'm planning on visiting all those resale cloths shops after surgery, not gonna spend too much money on cloths I will shrink out of. Lol Now I'm thinking of starting at Curves, there's one a block from my house. I'm motivated on diet but still not into exercise. I hope that comes soon, I know I need it but I guess I need a better attitude about it. Lord, please renew my mind! All for now, oh I almost forgot, my rings almost fell off my fingers. Only noticeable progress but progress all the same. Ok, done now.

It took a while finding a surgeon who would do my surgery, I guess I'm a high risk. (Who would have thought). Lol I am getting the sleeve, then hopefully a pancreas bypass. I have had many abdominal surgeries but this one I'm kinda looking forward to. I was so thankful to find a doctor with a sence of humor, I told him all the problems I had and he just kept saying arggg. Then he looked at my scar and I told him there was mesh underneath, arggg again. Lol The shrink you liver diet isn't so bad, but the lack of caffeen is giving me a headache, and an upset stomach adjusting to no carbs. I was surprised when it took a while for my sugar to come down to normal range, but I'm not normal is what my friends tell me. Lol All for now, next appt in Mid October for psyche and weigh in.
