  1. I've heard great things about Dr. Garcia. Did you book thru Ready 4 a Change? There are several people who speak very highly of him on the Self Pay/Mexico forum. Amanda Rae
  2. I'm staying an extra night in San Diego postop. I'm looking at the Days Inn ad they are moderately priced and have a free airport shuttle. Amanda Rae
  3. So I talked to my hubby about my up and coming surgery. He has been fully aware of and involved all along but the subject came up again while sending in passport card docs today. I asked him if he was worried I'd leave him once I lost my excess wait. I'm a fairly direct person so that's pretty much how the question came out. He admitted that while he is completely supportive of my decision so that I will be healthy and happy he is insecure. Naturally I am reassuring him that I love him and want to be with him. That we've weathered many a storm together and this isn't even a storm. Has anyone else encountered such insecurities from their spouses? Any feedback? Amanda Rae
  4. I did the same in San Diego. Just to recover and relax b4 my 6 hour flight. Amanda Rae

  8. And I make sure to take my One A Day weight loss Multivitamin. Also, I'm doing an organic herbal 15 day cleanse. It definitely keeps things "moving along"... Amanda Rae
  9. I started my preop diet extra early with the blessing of my coordinator due to my high BMI. That's why I say talk to your surgical team about your preop. They're the professionals and we are all different. I'd never say what I'm doing is best for the next person... Amanda Rae
  10. 3 days of Clear liquids, starting 3 days b4 surgery, is what my coordinator forwarded to me. Amanda Rae
  11. I just hope I'm doing it right and making healthy choices. Amanda Rae
  12. For me: Breakfast: EAS Lean Protein shake mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Dannon light n fit Greek yogurt. Lunch: EAS Lean Protein Shake mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Dannon light n fit Greek yogurt. Dinner: Broiled chicken breast; steamed veggies or a big salad. Or both. Snack: raw almonds or a 3rd protein shake. It's very regimented but I need strict boundaries or I will deviate and eat uncontrollably. I'm not saying this is the best way, but its what I need. I'm trying to do 1200 calories a day so I lose weight preop safe and healthy. I hope I'm doing it right! I would just listen to your surgeon. Amanda Rae
  13. I'm going 3/18. Good luck and please share your experience! Amanda Rae
  14. I opted for Dr. Lopez in TJ. I almost did PV but decided to save the extra money for PV next year so I can enjoy it properly... And be a bit healthier/thinner. Amanda Rae
  15. I am using Dr. Lopez through A Lighter Me. It is $4500 for the sleeve. I have to pay an extra $500 because my BMI is over 50. The price range in Mx is between $4k - $10k. Amanda Rae
  16. It is excluded from my insurance and I don't have $20k lying around... :-) Amanda Rae
  17. Hey there to all the previously sleeved... Would you be so kind as to touch base with us? When were you sleeved? Who sleeved you? How much success have you had? Any complications (sure hope not)? Would you do it again? Amanda Rae Ps: Remember, when you go on hiatus, we worry!
  18. How is everyone sleeved thru Dr. Lopez or Dr. Ortiz doing this new year? Amanda Rae
