  3. Anyone from the tri-state area that had surgery or is trying to go have surgery in a lighter me I'm highly skeptical about it like fit example of face book not even that much people give it likes. I don't know. Help!!!!
  4. Anyone had bad experience with a lighter me in Tijuana Mexico. I am trying to decide either should I go & take the trip on my own. But my mom is making me try one more time in the states. If I do this will be my third time resubmitting my tests. But honestly I don't have a bad vibe about a lighter me.
  5. Thanks. It's actually to reduce the size of my liver. I did wear weights inside my shoes. It came up to 262lbs but she takes 2lb off. Then she made me weigh myself with out shoes or coat. All I remember my nutritionist saying my bmi is 38.5 or 39.5 but I checked it online and it says 40 I'm going to see if when I go back she can help me do something. She also stated my surgeon can put something extra so I can be eligible for surgery. But he hasn't told me other wise he said everything should be fine and I should be having surgery soon. There was one surgeon who actually said no to me after I did all I did.
  6. So I had to gain 5 more pounds to have a body mass index of 40 to be a candidate for VSG I have no health problems what so ever (thank god) but now I have to diet for about 21 days prior to surgery. My health insurance is fidelis. Does any one think I will be accepted by this health insurance please I néed some sort of opinions regarding low bmi then gaining extra pounds to be a candidate for surgery then dieting once again thanks.
  7. Before I decided to get the sleeve I had went in for the lap band about two Years ago and I think my bmi wasn't even all up there and I had gotten approved from my health insurance but didn't get to do surgery because I didn't have my highschool diploma or GED. At the time I was under 18. And my surgeon is or was the only one doing surgery's to people under the age of 18. The reason why i needed to have a hs diploma or ged was Because he said if i am motivated to loose weight i should be motivated to finish school as well. It's been a lot of back and fourth hopefully this time around under gods will everything will be possible for me. I hope so I need change ; physically, emotionally and mentally.
  8. Oh ok thanks girls, another question my health insurance may work in Mexico? I'm supposed to be getting surgery here in NYC but thing have got difficult for me then past appointments. I don't wether I'm going to have it here paid for by my health insurance or might take that out of pocket and go to Mexico.
  9. How does the procedure works? Do you have to fly out there before surgery? Or what?
  10. So I'm just curious lets say u get sleeved in mexico and god forbid something bad happens because of the VSG surgery I can go to any hospital here in NYC? And how does the insurance thing work in Mexico?
  11. By the way this is in New York City in St Luke's hospital. I'm anxious all I could do is pray and thank god for giving me life I guess things happen for a reason but I'm still going to the surgeons office that left because its not fair.
  12. I actually walked in after getting denied by the surgeon with my mother and she said she can't do anything but ended up giving me an appointment for all the way until December. And I have everything done all I need to see is a nutritionist. I can't wait until I get it. I feel like regular diets won't do anything for me I always work my way around it, it enough of that I need some change.
  13. Really I guess every surgeon is different because i already had a surgery date with another surgeon but left the hospital and opened his own clinic and called some of his patients. But now they made me see another surgeon that's in the hospital and I guess he's strict. It has really disappointed me I was looking forward to getting surgery now in December but it is what it is on Monday I'm planning on heading to the surgeons clinic (the one that left all his patients) to see what's up.
  14. Probably things out there are different but here it's on the FDA that you have to a bmi of 35-39 with some type of problem depression, blood high pressure, diabetes etc. then 40 it's acceptable to send to the health insurance. But good luck with your journey re-read things over so you wouldn't be going through the waist of time I am.
