  1. I hope this is true for everyone, because right now, pre surgery, I get up at least twice a night to pee. It would be nice to have an uninterrupted night without getting up!
  2. Thank you for all the replies! I think I'll be fine by myself at the hospital. The hard part will be keeping my friend away! She'll probably ignore me and stay anyway!
  3. Thanks! My surgery is about 70 miles from home, so if I could just send her home, I totally would. I think I'd feel guilty about having her come so far for pretty much no reason. I figure I'll just drive myself and we can come get my car at the 1 week post op appointment
  4. I'm wondering whether or not you really need a friend or spouse in the hospital right after you had your surgery. My doctor only does surgeries on Thursdays, and the person who is coming with me has to work only on the weekdays. She is a new mom and obviously needs the money, and if I don't really need her at the hospital, I don't really want her to take unpaid time off to watch me sleep. I figure if the nurses are going to be harassing me all the time, and the pain medicine is going to make me sleep then I'm not really going to need a friend there. I only have to stay overnight. I'm a pretty practical person, and I'm not really one for moral support so I don't think that will be an issue. Does anyone think that's a bad idea?
  5. My doctors office just submitted my stuff to insurance! I can't wait for an approval!
  6. For the people who already had their surgery, how much of your surgery was covered? I know plans are different, but I'm curious. I have aetna ppo
  7. I'm just waiting for my insurance to approve, then I'll be having my surgery with Dr. Hoehn!
  8. If they say they never did, they are liars or seriously deluded!
  9. She saying it tastes like the brownie batter that you eat out of the bowl when you aren't supposed to! Before you bake the brownies
  10. Maybe it's 6 weight Watchers points? That's my guess!
  11. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. It's Christmas time for pete's sake, behave!
  12. Fishy, I felt the need to say that you are RUDE. I've seen more than one post from you that was sarcastic/mean or rude. Unless you've live in everyone's house and lives, you have no idea if people are making up stories or not. People come to this place for support and advice, so unless you cut the negativity, you're going to end up being reported
  13. Those kind of protein shots don't work for us. For one, our bodies can't absorb all of it at once. Plus the kind of protein they put in those things isn't the kind we need. I would find a flavored protein you like, I've heard that Nectar makes some good flavors. Merry Christmas
  14. Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but I had to say OUCH! doesn't that sting?? Merry Christmas
  15. The crystal light mock alcohol drinks are so good, you could easily pour it into whatever glass and blend in at a party or whatever. The margarita one even has a tequila-ish after taste
  16. I was house sitting for a friend and she has a tub (my place only has a shower) I was so excited to get to soak in a tub! While I fit in the bathtub width wise, the water didn't cover everything. It was a rude awakening for sure
  17. What color are your gums? My doctor would always tell me to look at my them, and you'll be able to tell because of how white they are. They are supposed to be about the same color as the inside of your cheek
  18. Congrats on the 11 pounds! Are you mixing your shakes with water or milk? Some people become lactose intolerant right after surgery
