Ok...So I am scheduled for vsg on this Thursday! I have to admit Im a nervous wreck. I have alomost got myself talked out of having the surgery. Im scared of the pain afterward, & I keep thinking Im not going to ever enjoy food again ! My daughter told me "Are you living to eat..or Eating to live" !! Pretty smart thinking for a 15yr old! LOL I know there is going to be some pain involved, but I dont want to ever think Ive made a mistake by doing this! Has anyone ever gone through these feeling that Im experiencing? I know deep down that in the long road I will have made the right decision. Please keep me in prayers & thoughts come surgery day. I just want to feel "at peace" about this. Thanks again

Good Luck & praying for a speedy pain free recovery!! I am doing my surgery on Thursday the 20th & have to say Im terrified & almost have myself talked out of it!! LOL. Im scared I will not be able to enjoy food again as well!! But my daughter (who is 15) told me...are you living to eat...or eating to live!! WOW....It got me thinking!! She is so smart lol...What she said made so much sense to me!! Still didnt calm my nerves though!! LOL.... Keep updating your progress & let us all know just how great it was!! I started my liquid diet today...My surgeon said 3 days before surgery is plenty of time to shrink the liver before surgery!! 15 days seems like a lot!! But I dont know anything! LOL..I have to say im extremely nervous !! Good luck to all you you !!

I am scheduled for surgery on thursday & I am very nervous!! So your not in a lot of pain? Are you hungry at all? Where did u have surgery?? Are you sipping water every couple of hours?? Good luck on your recovery !!

Yay ... Your on your way! I had the same thoughts yesterday when I went for my pre op visit! I almost talked myself out of it! But my dr put me at ease...Im still nervous!! lol...Good Luck

What is your biggest fear from the surgery? I am scheduled the 20th of September...I am anxious & nervous at the same time. I am scared of the anethesia & pain afterwards but....Look forward to the future when I can actually do things again!!

I had to take some shots a few years ago that was similar to chemo & my hair got "thinner" Thank God I had thick hair, but I used this shampoo/ cond. called Nioxin & it worked great!! Hope that helps you!!

I didnt even realize they did this kind of surgery at Barnes!! WOW....wish I had know that! But I was referred to the Dr. I am going to now by another Dr from SLU!!

Im from So IL, but I am having mine done in St.Louis at DesPere!! Dr. Scott is my dr. & he is great. I just went yesterday for pre op testing & nutrition class. Having it done on Sept 20! I go for my pre op visit on the 10th & very nervous!! How bad was the first night after surgery for all of you that just had it done? I gave birth 3 times naturally! No epidural or anything! So I figured it cant be as bad as that!! But I could be wrong...can anybody clue me in? Thanks & good luck to all who just had surgery...Keep posting...Love to read all of these

Hello ! I am from So. IL as well! I have heard great things about Herrin! I am getting mine done in St. Louis only because my specialist sent me there!! I would have choosen to have it done closer to home!! When are you getting yours done?? I would love to hear about your progress after your surgery!! I am nervous yet excited to get this done!
