  1. Hi Heather, Im from Alberta and I had surgery with Dr Lopez Oct 2012, but my surgery was in Puerto Vallarta. Dr Lopez is a wonderful Dr, I had no problems after the surgery and the hotel in PV was great. My experience was good, I was the only surgery that day and he came to see me in the evening and I had his cell number if I needed to talk to him, he even drove my husband back to the hotel that pm. His assistant Anakaren was around all day. The waiting is the worst part. It'll go fast and its worth it.

A Lighter Me Dr. A. Lopez?

I had surgery in Oct 2012 with Dr Lopez in Puerta Vallarta, the hospital is new, clean and quiet. Nursing staff were great, only evening staff didnt speak much english. Noticed they didnt wear gloves but washed hands. Dr Lopez and wife Dr Osuna were great, I had no problems after surgery. The hotel was very nice. Anakaren was the co ordinator for Dr Lopez and she was around if I ever needed her. What I liked about being in PV was that I was Dr Lopez's only surgery that day and he had only two the day. before.I have no complaints what so ever, some of the remarks on here just take with a grain of salt. If you want I have Anakarens number and she's his co ordinator and nutritionist in Pv and Guadalajara, so you can call her and ask her any questions about Dr Lopez.

Pain in left shoulder after I eat.

HI, I have the same problem as you. I figured if I eat to fast or my stomach is getting full it stars to hurt. If i continue to eat the pains get worse and I get up vomitting and the pain goes away. I only did that twice and that was enough. I take prevacid every day and had hernia repair too.

    What am i doing wrong?

Hi just checked my bmr and its 1500 per day, how do you get all that much in a day? My supper time is the worst I'm so hungry and i then eat fast which isnt good, and get terrible pain in my left shoulder and i know i've over ate and thats it for over a hr before i can eat or drink anything. im gonna try eating more throughout the day.
  9. I have been going up and down on the same 2 lbs for the last 5 weeks. Im getting about 700- 900 calories per day, 60+ proteins a day, lots of water and just reduced carbs to under 40 . Started hitting the gym 5 days a week (not liking that at all). The only thing I think it might be is that I have a protein bar everyday as a snack but its only 150 calories. I must be a slow loser but thats ok anything is better than nothing. any advice would be great. thanks.

    Dr JC in PVR!

Hi, I was sleeved in PVR on Oct 20/12 by Dr Lopez, his price was different which was a little more because it is a resort. If your at the same hospital and resort you will love it. best of luck to you. BTW, I loved Dr lopez and his assistant, excellent care and no problems post op.

    Dr Alejandro Lopez

Hi, I was sleeved on Oct 20 in Puerto Vallarta with Dr Lopez and wife Dr Osuna, the hospital is top notch, hotel amazing. Anakaren who picked us up at the airport and took care of all our needs was wonderful. Had no problems after the surgery at all. The leak test was a breeze. Dr Lopez is very nice and explains everything. I had a great experience, hope that helps.
  12. I was sleeved in Pv on Oct 20. My husband came with me, the hotel is amazing. Casa Magna beautiful everyone was friendly. The hospital is new, very large, quiet and so clean. The night before i was so nervous , the unknown, having surgery in Mexico, only knowing what I read about Dr Lopez. Anakaren his associate was wonderful to us. I met Dr Osuna (Dr Lopez's wife), she's a internist and she assisted Dr Lopez in surgery. She did my pre op test and was great. Then the anesthesiologist came in and answered any questions about the surgery and Damn he was HOT! Dr Lopez came in and we talked and explained everything to me and in a matter of minutes it was show time. I was the only surgery that day so that was a bonus of having surgery in PV. I live in Canada and the OR is just like the ones here. I woke up and felt great had oxygen on due to problems from surgery done in Canada. Went back to room, which is very nice, as soon as oxygen was off I started to walk, I had pain in my left shoulder but the more I walked the better it was, and burping is good feels good. I was not sick at all, walking and ice chips are great. Dr Lopez came back in the evening with Anakaren to tell me about my surgery and actually drove my husband back to the hotel. What a nice guy. Next day all the Drs came back to check on me, had my leak test,(which isnt bad at all) and I was good . Had a drain tube but thats nothing, was released next day to hotel. The tube was taken out by Dr Osuna at the hotel but no big deal. Honestly I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Lopez and his team, they were caring and very compassionate. Hope that helped.
  13. If you are set on having Dr Lopez as your surgeon then find out what dates he'll be in Tj and then book. I had Dr Lopez in PV and he was wonderful, his wife Dr Osuna assisted him, I have no complaints. You should have the Dr. that you want, after all its major surgery and its your body. Good Luck.
