    starvation mode?

I absolutely agree with that too low a calories will tank the metabolism. I also desire to live a normal eatting pattern so my thoughts are much more in line with steel of sleeve than others. However no need to waste calories unnecessarily so I would switch to Premier Protein shake if I were you. They are 160 calories, 30g protien and only 5 carb. I find them delicious. They are available at Sam's club and Castco. Weight loss is such an individualized thing. I have hit that horrible stall before. I had to up my calorie for a few days then drop my calories back down a while to get the scale moving. I have lost 34lb since early November and was sleeve 12/5 so I am by manys standards a slow loser. Also keeping carbs below 50 seems to be my key. I currently weigh 247 and that is a lower weight than I have been in over 20 years so I am not totally bummed with my progress. My current goals are 800 calories, 50 Carbs, and 80 grams protein. I am usually just in on calories and carb and over on protein by a good bit. I really need to up my Fluid intake. Most by fluid if decaf coffee, I need to do alot better in that area! It is a process and I have much improved my eatting and exercise lifestyle but there is room for improvement. More fluid and more consistent exercise will get me where I want to be.

    Be honest....

Here is my honest answer. I didn't pig out and through my three week (extended by a week to schedule proble with surgeon) I seriously regretted not having any food funerals and dreamed about what I should have ate!
  5. I went in to see my PCP having been sleeved on 12/5. I told him I was disappointed with my weight loss compared to others. I know. I know. We should not compare ourselves but we all do. I weighed 280 when I was there in his office in November. The day I was in his office I weighed 252. Today I am down to 247.6 I am thrilled to be loosing but when I read about the people who lose 70-100 lbs in 3 months I just have to wonder what am I doing wrong. My PCP shook his head and ask me to consider my journey in its entirety My biggest recorded weight in his office was 386lbs in 2006. I fought down to 270 by 2008 and then bounced around 260 to 300 until I received by sleeve in 2012. All you dieters know that in order to lose over 100 lbs and keep it off for years I had already made major changes tommy eatting patterns. My PCP explain to me that because the surgery was not a big shock to my body I did see the big change. I most definitely eat less calories on a continued bases now but my NUT actual ask me to up my calories from the 900 I was doing to 1300-1500 pre surgery. Does anyone else think that is kind of comical. I have seen many stalls over the years even when doing the right things. My PCP say the body has set points where it will not want to let go of more. That is when I need to up calories a day or two the back off. Also I must up what I am forcing the body to urn during a stall. That is very hard for me I am no fan of exercise but I press on. My PCP told me to realize had I not already had made so many changes before surgery I would have seen a bigger difference but I would have been at a much higher starting weight to begin with. So I guess it all evens out in the end. This made me feel better about the lost post surgery. My hope with surgey was it would take me down the next hundred as my body seemed unwilling to go down below 260 even after that 6 month supervised 900 calorie diet the NUT complained was to low. So I do feel an accomplishment to be at 247.6 it is my lowest adult weight. I certainly hope to keep moving down the scale. My current limits 800 calories 50 carbs and 70 Protein. I try to walk uphill at 3mph for 30 mins 5 times a week. Yes it is a journey but I feel like I am running the hardest marathon ever!

    All of my December sleevers...

last PCP visit November 8th. 280 lbs Day of Surgery December 5th. 277lbs Today 247.6 I have fought a major three week stall during this time. To break the stall I had to accept that this is going to take work on my part and not just restriction of volume of foods. I do the following limits Calories 800, Carbs 50, Protein 80. I walk on uphill incline 30 mins trying to maintain 3 mph and goal is 5 days a week. During the stalls I had calories 1000/ carbs and protein 100. I was also a lot less on the exercise. I anticipate more stalls because being obese my entire life my body is desperately trying to hold on to the weight. I think that during stalls it is important to do a cycle of 2 or 3 days higher intake without stoping the exercise. This tells the body it is ok to burn more is incoming. This journey is a battle for me!

    To much artifical food?

Thanks for your ideas, I think I do need to back off the whey protein just a bit have the shake or the bar and then go with real food the rest of the day.

    To much artifical food?

I have always got in eatting ruts be it healthy or junk food I tend to eat the same thing over and over. My current rut has been Breakfast: premier shake Am Snack 1/2 premier bar Lunch: Tyson fully cooked chicken Breast & green veggie Pm Snack: 1/2 premier bar Supper: Tyson fully cooked Chicken Breast & green veggie That comes up to 650 calories, 33 carbs and 102 grams of Protein. Should I consider this a good day if I also get my fluids in? Or is it to much processed and not enough real food. I eat no fruit because carbs go high and veggies are there but not much. I occasionally change the chicken to fish. Is 102 grams of protein too much? Weight stats 12/5 Surgery 277 Today 251-252 I have struggled with long stall as most of the weight was lost in first 2 weeks after surgey. Opinions appreciated. Rudeness not so much.
  9. I love those and the premier bars. Although I am disappointed the bars are not lower carbs they are from memory 270-290 calories, 25-29 grams carbs depending on variety. Those numbers are not bad when considering it as a meal replacement but I still would like to have seen lower carb bar.

    Quick question

Take some gas x and that will give some relieve but otherwise you should feel better in an hour or so. Maybe wait a few weeks before trying Pb again.

    Cost sanity check

I really think I say on food bill. I buy less because I eat way less. When we go out my cost is way less.
