  1. I just made it this weekend. I portioned it out in 4 oz ramken (sp) dishes and it was DELICIOUS! Best thing I have ever tasted since being sleeved. I'm 3 weeks out and I needed some variety during my 2 week pureed/mushy stage. I will definitely be making this again.

  2. I was sleeved on Nov 9th. So far so good. I stayed in the hospital overnight. I'm on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks. The gurgling in my stomach is annoying. I'm not sure if its gas or hunger or both. I've been able to get my liquids down. I tried sf Jello and it hurt. My doc doesn't want me to be concerned with Protein the first 2 weeks. Just stay hydrated. I have however incorporated some form of Protein Drink in my 48oz. I do a leisure walk 1-2 times per day. I'm exhausted afterwards. I have started taking my Vitamins which have helped my energy levels. Looking forward to the pureed stage....I'm over these liquids. Lol

  3. Evonnrae so glad you're doing well! I was concerned about you as you left last week for surgery; so I'm pleased all is well! Here's wishing you a swift recovery! Stay tuned....my surgery is on the 19th...

    Thank you banjaqueen. I'm making room for you on the losers bench. You will do fine!!!!

  4. Hi November Sleevesters! I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I had surgery on November 9th. I feel better than expected. No real pain, no vomiting. I was up walking a few hours after my surgery. Just working on staying hydrated with Water, broth, popsicles and diluted Isopure. SF Jello doesn't go down to well so I'm staying away from that. I've been walking slowly. Coughing hurts and my stomach is constantly rumbling/ gurgling...what's that all about? I've been sleeping in my living room chair which feel good for my stomach but not for the greatest sleep. Sending prayers to those of you with upcoming surgeries. Stay positive and prayerful that everything will be ok.

  5. I am 3 days post op and thankfully so far so good. Not on any pain meds and I am doing pretty well with getting most of my fluids down, however sleep is an issue. Can't seem to get a good position in my bed so I have bee. sleeping in my living room chair. My stomach doesn't hurt, just a feeling of discomfort. How long did it take for the discomfort in your tummy to go away and how we're you able to get sleep post op?

  6. Surgery scheduled tomorrow at 7 am. I've been fine until now. As I sit I'm the airport I feel tears welling up...I'm a bit overwhelmed with emotion. I'm extremely proud and happy for taking this step yet nervous as hell abt surgery its self. This is a big deal...my life is getting ready to change for the better. Virtual hand hold hugs and prayers are needed :)

  7. Hey everyone' date=' I'm scheduled for surgery at 7 Am in the morning and would really appreciate your prayers . I'll be leaving tonight as I have a two - three hour trip to make to the hospital. I'm taking my Ipad and phone of course.

  10. Hello Everyone.

    I just had my 2nd Appointment yesterday in Hamilton, New Jersey with

    Dr. Yelizaveta Lisa Dobruskin.

    My surgery will be in January, 2013.

    www.jerseybariatrics.com

    I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully run a diary of happenings during this WLS Journey. I anderstand it will be a life time commitment.

    My stats:

    I am 40+, African American / Black,

    4'11 and 225lbs. Mother of two and recently divorced.

    I am not sure if stats are used in terms of comparisons of progress but I will try to remember that my progress is mine alone. I will be successful in this journey. I will try to stay positive. I will hopefully have no regrets and very little to no complications.

    The Serenity Prayer is a good inserted here:

    Lord grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

    To change the things I can;

    and the Wisdom to know the difference.

    --Ah!men--

    Woot- Hoot for the January 2013 starters!!!

  13. hello fellow sleevers....guess what???yup ill be getting my sleeve on nov 8th, im so excited and nervous of course. anyone else getting sleeved on the 8th also? i really hope this surgery works well for me and that i'll be a success story like all of you. I'm so thankful to have this forum of people that understand and dont think im crazy or say things like you dont need surgery because your "not that fat"..lol how many of us have heard that..yes im alittle lower on the bmi than most but i have a few , yes a few co morbidities and my pcp totally thinks i need the surgery from a medical standpoint which is why im doing it...my mom grabbed my stomach and said "uh you need to go put your Spanx on before you leave" then later that night she said "your not that fat why do you need surgery"..ughhh she can really piss me off..so anyone about to be sleeved come on here and tell me your story and what is going thru your mind and the emotion you feel...just tell me everything ...

    Hi JenJen! where are you getting your surgery done? I'm getting sleeved November 9th. Hackensack Medical University-NJ. My process of getting approved was seamless. I'm sure 99.9% have experienced everything you said. "oh you're not that fat! I think you being too drastic." Womp Womp Womp. Lucky for me I have a tremendous support system that "get it". I'm nervous as hell yet I'm excited. I have all the thoughts running through my head about what if it doesn't work, what if I have a complication...all the what if's, but I'm standing firm and believing everything will be ok :). VST has been a great support system.
