  1. Please DO go see a therapist. I did. While I wasn't eating food that might be questionable, i had the opposite problem. When we were punished as children the food was taken away. If we were good we were allowed dessert. Of course, we were good/bad according to his mood. It was a VERY abusive household. As an adult, i continued this behavoir. I'd starve myself and splurge. I was a mess. It wasnt until earlier this year when I saw the therapist to start this process that I was really able to connect the dots. And I'm an intelligent woman!! The abuse that we sustain as children really needs to be worked thru for our own peace of mind. I still struggle with it. Not with the splurging thanks to my neat sleeve, but not eating because I don't think I deserve something yummy. I fight with that feeling a lot. So yes, please, you are worthy of fresh food!!
  2. Good point! I forgot about that. Are your legs hot or swelling anywhere? And if its still happening, you should call now. Not wait till tomorrow.
  3. LOL!!! That's what my hubby keeps saying. We are in Texas and i told him that next year our bill should be lower. We have an a/c system where it is divided by sections and i DO keep my office & work room (i work w dogs with behavioral issues) at 68 degress! I can't STAND sweating around clients unless we are working outside. It's so embaressing.
  4. Oh yeah, good point!! Is there a sarcasm or joke face? We don't need/want to confuse new people. How are you doing now? Its been a few hours since the applesauce. Can you keep pudding down?
  5. And remember, DON't Prebuy a lot of stuff!!! Your taste buds will change!! My hubby was so proud of himself by stocking up on my favorite drinks and now I can't tolerate them. . He meant well so he got lots of kudos.
  6. There's a thread here about losing friendships over the Sleeve. All women (i think) are weighing (haha!) in. I'd really like to know if guys have the same issue. And do you tell people? Thanks!! Judy
  7. Two weeks ago I was waiting for my leak test and i was freezing!! (i was fully dressed.). When the surgeon came in he chuckled. He pointed out that in June i was in the same room when I first met him. Now, 30 some pounds lighter, i didnt have as much 'insulation.' He was right!! And I rememeber sitting there with my husband that first day and worrying if i'd have to get undressed because I was all sweaty. (i didn't). So yeah, i DO think the sweating is much better.
  8. That's really true for me too. I honestly think we are 'disgusted' by the food because so many of us are still prone to nausea. This IS an interesting and honest thread, we just don't need the redundant bickering.
  9. LOL! I know.... That's why I didn't suggest anything. I say go for the pasta!!! J/K!!!!
  10. Oh, iggy!! Not good. Maybe start with something more bland tomorrow?
  11. Ohhh....Dez!! That sounds YUMMY. never thought to add cream cheese.
  12. I REALLY like the boneless chicken w a can of soup in the crockpot. It gets super soft.
  13. Oh no. How long has it been since you've eaten food? It's been awhile, that I remember.
  14. Or potassium. That happens too. Personally, I'd put a call in to your surgeon. You were just done, so he needs to tell you what you can take. Hang in there!
  15. Who is going to have her first bite of real food today!! Applesauce! Yummy! Fingers, toes, paws crossed. Lots of prayers! And we want a report!!! :-)
  16. I'm with Cookeeeeez......possibly nuts :-). But let's drop this. Enough. I don't come here to be lectured, or judged. I come here to help me cope and help others with my limited experience. There's enough tension in our 'real' life, we don't need it here. I, for one, just won't be reading certain people's posts anymore.
  17. I have. A person who I thought was a close friend rarely contacts me anymore. Basically her attitude has been 'lucky you' & jealousy. Even though I tried to explain the process and then downplayed how lucky i am. She's lost and gained the samw 70 pounds over and over again. I gave up. A person who's a truly good friend would support & be by my side. Very sad. But at 51yrs of age, I'm way past changing to make people like me. Give me a few really close 'sister friends' rather than a room full of aquaintances.
  18. Seeleesofme; Just an FYI, because everyone is different! My weight started to come off when I began eating. I lost very little when I was on liquids and I'm sure it was because my body went 'here she goes again with this starvation diet! Gotta hold on to my fat 'cause she's gonna starve me!'. LOL!!! Again, everyone is different! To me, ANY weight loss is a victory. I don't care how slowly it goes. Good luck!
  19. You work out 3-4 times a DAY?? How long are your workouts? I'm no expert....but isn't that a bit too much? Hopefully someone who knows will chime in here, but I think you could be putting your body in a caloric deficit and your body is holding on to what it's got for dear life. I think..i could be wrong! :-)
  20. What area of the country do you live? I'm just curious because it seems like the hospital isn't qualified on something as basic as a gallbladder. Not knocking rural towns, I lived in a beautiful place for over 20 years, but the downside is a lack of medical care.
  21. I know!!! Protein shakes are a lifesaver. 'real food' is probably better and more natural for us, but at the level of grams we need...that's a lot of food on a tiny tummy!
