Sudden Severe Incision Pain...ouch
Whoa! You are doing too much!!'i'm 4 weeks out and my side still aches at times. You had MAJOR surgery. Just because you can't see the incisions, they are there and deep inside of you. Please, pamper yourself. The floors can stay dirty for awhile. :-)

Severe Osteoarthritis-Knees
Oh Catracks...you SO are!!! And that's ok!!! You've worked hard to get to this point! One of the main reasons I got this surgery is because i had both knees replaced 5 and 6 years ago when I was in my 40's. . With the weigtht I was carrying, I would need both knees replaced in my late 50's and again in my 70's! That's 6 knee replacements in my lifetime!!!! That's crazy!

Lymphedema And Wls
Yes, you guys are correct and I stand corrected. Sorry! I called her to verify. She went to a 2 year full time credential degee program. She is NOT a massage therapist. I don't quite understand what her degee is in but it's below w full Physcial Therapist. Sorry again. She even told me 'Judy! You do NOT go to a masage therapist for this treatment!'. Opps!!

Positive Experiences Please!
I'm sorry to hear that you chickened out. But, if you weren't ready, then you weren't ready. There IS a risk of something going wrong. But, there is a bigger risk of things going wrong if you stay obese. Gentle hugs. You'll know when it's right. Just rememeber, you probably won't ever be 100% sure. As my surgeon says: its ok to be scared. This IS a big deal.

Positive Experiences Please!
LOL! How about this? I am 4 weeks post-op, about 40 pounds down total. I'm a 51 year old woman. I was with my 28 son today doing chores. Both a costco and BJ's men hit on me!! At BJ's the manager even gave me a giftcard. WTF? It was nice, but there was an extremely obese woman sitting at the table next to us and he ignored her. So wrong!! I just laughed nicely and said 'thanks, I'll give to my son'. And I did. The woman and I just smiled at each other. :-) But, my son and I had a great laugh over me 'debuting' my new body!! Of course...the bra comes off and down go the girls....Cinderalla is back home.

Fibromyalgia; Arthritis; Nerve Pain
Chronic pain here from several auto-immune destructive diseases. . I would strongly suggest that you talk to your surgeon about pain control while recovering. We who suffer from chronic pain need to be extra diligent w the pain control so that we don't spiral. I was sleever 8/21. Feel free to PM me.

Capt Derel's Gastric Sleeve Surgery Journey
Opps.....hit sent too early. ....wonky immune system surgeon didnt feel comfortable removing it during my Sleeve & hiatal hernia repair. I'm on Ursidol but I still need to have my gallbladder out because if it turns toxic on me i'm pretty much out of luck. Body would be in deep trouble recovering from that. Schedule set for Nov 9 or earlier if i even have one mild attack.

Capt Derel's Gastric Sleeve Surgery Journey
My diagnosis was my pre-op ultrasound. Because of my wonky immune system sirgeon

Lymphedema And Wls
True, it MUST be a massage therapist who is trained to do it correctly.

Lymphedema And Wls
Do you get massages? If not, find a massage therapist who has experience with this condition. My friend is a massage therapist and has a few clients with it and she's improved their life significantly. I would imagine that WLS would help you, but I really am not basing this on anything expect it helps with many health issues. Good luck!

Allergic To Vit A
I'm in a pickle. :-). I am allergic to large amounts of Vitamin A. Even as a kid if I ate too many carrots I'd break out in a rash. It's a bit better now that I'm in my 50's, but I still can't take large amounts of A. So....does anyone have any suggestions for a multi-vit that isn't crazy high in A? Thanks!

Starvation Mode W Sleevers?
Dana, good points....I wonder if it really does reset the body? Hmmmmm....more to ponder.

Starvation Mode W Sleevers?
iegal: i've got a great post-op diet plan, that's not the question. However, I appreciate your post because it is a good point. My question is if we are in starvation mode as sleevers why are we burning fat when we were not pre-sleeve? We were hoarding our fat. Maybe its because we can sustain starvation mode longer with a sleeve so our body finally gives up?
