  1. I only count carbs. If you stay under 30 carbs a day, it's pretty hard for the calories to add up over 1200. But you need to find what works for you.
  2. Melinda- that's funny about your reverse hair loss!! Mine didn't start to fall out until almost 2 months postop. I had hoped that I would be one of the lucky ones, but I wasn't. Let's hope you beat the odds. Someone has to!!
  3. They are GREAT!!! So easy when life gets busy!
  4. When did you have your surgery? Maybe you are one of the lucky ones. :-)
  5. No solid food till 3 or so doesn't sound very healthy. You even said yourself that you may be in starvation mode. MANY of us don't feel like eating anymore. You have to eat. This is the time when we are retraining our brains and bodies on how to eat. 6 plus months out if you haven't retrained yourself to eat right, when you start to have less restriction, you may be in trouble.
  6. I eat one or two a day. I only count carbs and they are zero carbs.
  7. I was sleeved 8/21. Have always taken my Vitamins & Biotin, drank my Water, Protein shakes, & eaten lots of protein. My hair started falling out at about 8 weeks and is now falling out in handfuls. Its actually a real pain in the a**. Hair is everywhere. I got it cut in layers and blowdry to add 'fluff'. It's thin but not ugly. I plan to wear scarves or cute hats this winter if my scalp starts to show. And yes, it grows back. Honestly, if this is the price I have to pay to be healthy, I don't mind. I've had family and friends lose hair from Chemo. Compared to that, this is a walk in the park. Try to embrace your hair loss as shedding your layers. :-)
  8. 3 MONTHS??? holy toledo!!! I can totally understand that you don't know how to behave! So cool abt not needing the extension!
  9. I have to be under 20 carbs to lose weight. I am a very slow loser, have had stalls all throughout. Dropping my carbs below 10 can get me going again, but my average loss is about a pound a week. Did you lose a lot pre-op? Sometimes your body needs to just settle after a big weight loss. Are you losing inches? 3 pounds in 7 weeks right after surgery does seem weird.... Are you on MFP? Maybe we can help guide you? There's a friendly group and we support each other. No snarking allowed. :-)
  10. Oops, I never posted my stats! I did somewhere....are there 2 challenges circling? HW 249.5 CW: 200.9 GW: 195 Sleeved 8/21
  11. Should be a Thursday bcs that's when Thanksgiving was, or Tuesday bcs that's when Christmas will be.
  12. I did!! I didn't even connect it to the surgery though.
  13. Hockeymom- be careful because medifast products can load up on the carbs. Many of us post-sleevers (not all!!) are finding out that when we eat over 30 or so grams of carbs we don't lose weight. Also, not eating enough can cause your body to hold on to the fat, so eating is a good thing as long as you are eating the right things, like Protein.
  14. I think i'm going to Old navy this week!!! Never been in one, so a new experience coming right up!!! Thanks EVERYONE for answering me!
  15. You are SUCH a guy!!! :-)
  16. It's crazy how diff everyone is. My NUT has me only counting carbs and not worrying about anything else. In her defense, I agree w her. My body is very insulin resistant and when I go above 20 grams I not only don't lose weight, but I start craving carbs. So i really think it's how each individual reacts to carbs, because we are all different!!
  17. My REALLY clothes don't fit anymore!!! I am down to size 14, the last size in my closet. I really didn't believe I wore that size and put on size 18. My 28 yr old son, who was going w me to go see 'Lincoln' suggested I change my clothes because my baggy clothes made me look frumpy and I should be showing off my weight loss!! I kissed him!
  18. Try costco's crab cakes. Yummy!!!
