A Little About Me And Where I Am On This Journey

I'll be praying for you.I started my journey at 286 pounds.I am 36 and a mom of 6.I am part of a bariatric program that encourages you to follow the south beach diet.I have lost 40 pounds pre op and am having my gastric sleeve done on Oct 1st.Something just seemed to click for me, especially once I knew hope wason the horizon. You can do this, don't lose hope.Keep us posted on your progress, I know you'll do great
  7. Has anyone else had an issue with their coordinator taking their time turning in paperwork?I seen my surgeon on Aug 22 and I was given a date(pending approval) of Oct 1st.I have called twice and as of today my paperwork still hadn't been turned in.I called today and told her I knew she was busy but this is very important to me.She told me she is just turning in paperwork for surgeries at the end of September and when she gets to mine they will be turned in.Am I being too pushy?I feel like this should be more important to her, especially since she has had the sleeve as well. When I asked when she thought it would be done, so I could stop freaking out she told me she had no idea. She said we have plenty of time.Im really upset about this.Anyone have any thoughts?
  8. I am a patient of Dr. Hoffman at Buffalo General Hospital. It was very nervewracking not knowing what was happening.I agree with you, I would have felt better if I had known that they weren't turning papers in right after I seen the surgeon.I thought that was what was going to happen, so I was worried when I didn't hear anything back.I am thankful everything has been approved. It still doesn't feel real, probably because I have been waiting for so long, lol.Good luck to you and to everyone
  9. Well I took the advice given and did not call my coordinator again. It actually helped to not focus on it.Happily I finally received a call from my insurance company telling me I was approved! The lady also wished me luck, how nice .17 days to go, it definitely doesn't seem real yet

    Today Is My Day!

Best of luck, you'll do great!
  11. You are so right.I would not want the responsibility of scheduling life changing surgeries and having worriers, like me, calling and calling.I will give it a couple weeks.I Think that is only fair. I'll keep u guys posted on how things go.Thank you for all of your helpful suggestions. It really means a lot
  12. My concern is that she waits until 2 weeks before my date and then the approval takes too long.I feel silly being so concerned but I know I will feel a huge relief once I know everything is taken care of.I have lived the last 29 years as a heavy overweight person and I have worked very hard to get this far.I want to make sure I am vigilant and do what I need to do to get to the next step on this journey.Im so ready for this
  13. I understand that everyone's surgery is important and I'm not expecting preferential treatment.Im just very anxious and this is I guess the last 5 years in the making. You are prob right.Im nervous and anxious and worried and excited.I have to have a bit more patience and pray
