Waiting For Approval What Do You Think Of My Chance?
I also have the same insurance with the same requirements. When I first got banded it took only three days for the approval. I am having it removed and that also took three days for the approval. They are putting mine through insurance this week so Iam assured w/in a week or two it would be good to go. WITH THAT I would say w/in a week or two they should have word. With your 2 comorbities you should be good to go. Good luck!!!!!!! Keep us posted and add us as friends if you need anyone to talk to. Angela

Snore-A-Saures Rex Oh To Sleep Sound Again!
I was tested for sleep apnea and they said I was fine. My Grandma and mom both have a snore problem. It sounds like a grizzley bear is in the room sleeping, lol. I always teased my mom and grandma as a kid that they snored during movies and woke themselves up. They denied it and I just laughed, now I do it. Thanks for the Tylenol idea!

I really need support since I have decided that I am telling everyone I am going deer hunting with my husband the week I am off work!

Snore-A-Saures Rex Oh To Sleep Sound Again!
I am so excited for the night that I sleep thought the night! I am a snore box, bad, and I wake myself up all of the time. I didn't sleep worth a poo last night because my snoring kept me up. I am really looking forward to losing weight and being able to sleep on my back without the SNORE!

Secret Or Not? What To Do!
Thanks guys! I think I have made up my mind to share in time. I also appreciate everyone sharing their story and what they have gone through, it helps to know that I am not the only one. I don't feel like such a failure now, I feel good about myself and my journey so far. I get the removal of the band on the 7th and 6 weeks later I get sleeved. Really thanks to all of you! I love this site!

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
I will keep you in my thoughts! Good luck, I can understand what you are going though! 4 years of trying shots, meds for this and that, and still nothing, it gets so frustrating. I hope that through this journey you are able to be parents!

Secret Or Not? What To Do!
Hi I am Angela! I was banded in September 2009. Started out at 320 pounds and am currently at 280. Most of my weight loss was from pre-op, so needless to say I have NOT been successful. I am having a band removal on September 7th and I am very happy to have this band OUT. I have been struggling with the band and feel like a failure. I believe that I have made up my mind that I want to have the sleeve procedure! BUT I want to keep it a secret! I have been such a big failure that I am not sure I want to tell anyone that I am doing it, not even my mom! I wonder if I am the the only one who feels this way? It seems that everyone is so happy to share their journey with friends and family. I want to tell my husband and my best friend, that's it. I am so sick and tired of feeling like i'm being judged that maybe it's the best thing to do, not sure. I should be so excited about my new journey instead of keeping it a secret!!!

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
Great question! I am 280 and was diagnosed with pcos 4 years ago. I have had so many issues with my period coming and not coming, hair growth and not being able to have a baby! I wanted this surgery JUST to help with my pcos and being able to have a baby.

Help!
Just think of how good you feel when you were at your lowest weight. Do something good for yourself, change up what you were doing a bit to get back motivated! Try something like Aqua Zumba, it's fun and low impact but tones and it's a great place to make some new friends! You can do this!

Good Bye Band, Hello Sleeve
I am having my band removed on 9/5 I have had it for two years now, and have had nothing but bad luck. I am patiently waiting for my insurance to approve the sleeve!! Since my band removal was approved in one week, I am in high hopes that it will be approved!!!! Good luck to everyone on your journey!

Smoking And The Gastric Sleeve
Honesty, I would stop. It is really important that you do, not only for your overall health but for your recovery. I was banded in 2009 and I smoked a pack a day, it was hard but for the recovery and overall health it was worth the quit! To answer your question, I don't think they would know or be able to tell by blood work, but they would most likely be able to smell it. Good Luck!!

My Journey So Far
Being scared is 100% normal!!! The fact that you are starting early shows that you want this and seem to be ready! I started at 320 pounds and was banded in 2009. I struggled with the band and now am having it removed on September 5th. I hope to get the approval for the sleeve for 6 weeks after the band removal. Staying positive is the key to your success, no worries about the weight loss it will come!!! Good luck and keep posting. Angela

One Week Pre-Op Diet Down, One Week To Go :)
I went through that when I was banded and I felt grumpy all of the time! I am getting the band removed and doing the sleeve in 8 weeks. I am not looking forward to going through this detox again!
