Salad Mid Day Instead Of Evening....
Will it matter if I do my salad for lunch instead of dinner on my pre op diet? I think it would be easier for me.

Vitamins- How Do You Know If You Are Getting Enough?
Also, if your PCP doesn't know what to do with vit levels, you could always try a naturopath. They look at a lot of unusual lab tests. They may not all be happy with your decision to have surgery, but they should be willing to keep up on the labs you need.

Tomorrow
I hope all goes well for you. You are the only one that can make this decision for you. My only concern would be, if you thought you were getting the sleeve, was most of your research and interaction with other patients just about the sleeve, or have you been researching them both? I know I have learned a lot from the people on here who have had the surgery done. It just seems like a fast turn around from deciding one to having the other. Just want to make sure you've already talked to some people that have had it done. I know some people have been on both forums trying to decide what is best for them. Personally, the reservoir kinda creeps me out a bit, so I couldn't get myself to look into the lap band. It's a hard lump in the abdomen, and I knew I just couldn't do it, so I never looked at getting it. (I'm an ultrasound tech, and sometimes they get in the way when we are scanning. That is the only reason I have felt / seen them). Also, one of the patients I had told me she did really well the first year when the fills were covered for free, but could not afford them after as they were 250.00 per fill. Like I said, I never researched it myself, just the things I have heard from patients. I wish you all the best in your venture. I will be sending healthy, healing thoughts your way for your surgery. Have a great day!

Fiance Mourns The Fatness
I decided to just ask him. He seems to think he will miss it. He may, but he won't miss all that comes with it. Mainly the naps and me being in pain all the time. I had to make sure he knows I am not doing this because I think it will make him happy. I am doing this for me. So I can play with my kids without SOB. So I can catch my daughter if she tries to run out into the street, cause, Man, is she fast....and sneaky! I am doing this so I can keep doing the job that I love, because, right now, It hurts so much and a job higher in management with paperwork and meetings is actually looking good, and I don't want that. I think he just needed to know that if something happens to me during surgery, it's not his fault. He has never said anything negative about my weight in seven years, not even when we fight. (Most of our fights are about me sleeping all the time). In short, even though I don't think he will miss the fatness once its gone, I'm glad he felt the need to tell me he loves me just the way I am.

Meds To Prevent Gallstones
I just talked to my GI doc today and he wants me to take it starting 1 week prior to surgery. He says the pills can be crushed and mixed as a slurry or added to whatever I am drinking. I know stones can form pretty fast. I looked at my gallbladder after 36 days on the HCG diet and it was bright white with sludge. I decided to stop there instead of going to 40 days. Ate steak and contracted it pretty good, but took one more fatty meal to return it to normal. I don't think my GB will make it too long without help. I really want to keep it. Hope this medicine works.

Meds To Prevent Gallstones
I am having surgery in Mexico, but I asked my GI doc here about gallstones post surgery. He gave me a prescription for a med called Urso. He said to take it until your weight stabilizes, and you should be OK after that. Has anyone taken any preemptive gallstone meds? Has it worked for you?

Help Me Understand ... Why The Stigma?
I told everyone, cause I am not a very private person and I know I would eventually spill the Beans. Well, not everyone. I didn't tell my in-laws. Just because I know my MIL would not stop bugging her son about it. I noticed people at work immediately analyzing everything I ate after that. "Maybe if you didn't eat this or that.... " Piss off, I say. I did notice that I only got negative reactions from the girls whom are a little chunky. (Not heavy enough for WLS). Not one negative comment from any of my thin coworkers. I found that very curious. A little sad, I must admit.

Why Am I Hiding?
You really look great! Thanks for posting pics. OTR: "fake it til you make it". My boss says that every time she sets a new rule that I know my department won't like. First time I've heard it outside of work.

Unjury
I tried the chicken one. It was OK. With a couple spices, it will be better. Plan to purchase the unflavored as well.

"wls Is Not What God Intended..."
Just wanted to share, though its not religion related. My massage therapist said what I am doing is "overly extreme body modification". While I guess filing down your teeth so you can get tusks and dying the whites o your eyes black is acceptable. Truth is, people think whatever they want to do is acceptable, but the things others are doing is "extreme". I think other people's opinions don't matter in this decision. And I don't see how having part of your stomach out is any different than removing your appendix, gallbladder or spleen. God gave us all of them for a reason, but also made us able to live without them. Hope you are feeling better about your decision.
