  1. I just had my 2 month follow up and the numbers shocked me! I am down 56 pounds from day of surgery. I guess my scale at home says I weigh more than the Dr's office. That is a good thing I am feeling amazing!! I have a long way to go still.. I did a side by side comparison from the morning of surgery and from this morning and it is the first time I really am seeing a huge difference in myself! Pic is attached Grey hoodie is morning of and dress is this morning, of course you will know which one is which LoL Just had to share, when you are finally feeling this good its fun to share with others that understand!!!
  2. I wish there were better thrift shops where I live.. I've checked out a few and the more higher end ones don't have much in the big girl sizes.. what they do have is not what I could/would wear So for now I am doing clearance shopping which for me has turned out to work great! I won't give up on thrift stores yet! LoL. Thanks for the advice!
  3. I realized that I needed to get some new clothes that fit a little better.. being that I am at the start of my journey it pains me to buy clothes that a onth or two down the line I wont be wearing.. so I do lot of clearance shopping. I went to Macy's and was finding dresses left and right that were cute! I took a few different sizes in with me to try..and I was so happy when things were too big! Everything I tried of either fit or was too big!! I have never in my life had things that were too big.. things were always too small! Dresses are my go to right now, I figure when they get a little big I can still wear them, just belt them. They won't look as bad as saggy pants! Pants are my issue still and probably will be forever. I carry my weight in the middle so have no butt or legs.. so findng pants that fit in all the right areas is next to impossible! So stoked that I found 5 dresses that fit me and the most I paid for one was 13$.. now that is a deal Just had to share somewhere that people would understand my excitement of clothes being too big
  4. Probably from not eating..This happened to me and my nutritionist said that is what caused it... mine recommends eating 5-6 times a day.. 3 small meals 3 small snacks about every 2-3 hours so this doesnt happen. You don't want only acid in your stomach and that will happen when you don't eat all day long
  5. Give it time, I am 7 weeks out and his a 3 week stall from week 3-6 I was getting frustrated, but then it started coming off again. Stalls are normal and while I wasnt losing weight I was losing inches. After a 3 week stall it felt good even to lose a pound. I try not to weight myself everyday like I was other wise that can get to you. Hang in there, it will happen with time.
  6. I will have to try that, I love zucchini!
  7. You can use cauliflower for a rice substitute or even as a pizza crust. For the rice you just shred it up uncooked, I made shrimp egg fried rice with it. I just sautaued it up with veggies and added the egg and shrimp.. tastes really good and I am normally not a fan of cauliflower. You can google all kinds of recipes
  8. I love this site, I have made a few of these "cupcakes". The cheeseburger ones are really good!!
  9. Hey All! Since I was told to stay away from Pasta ( I haven't even tried it and don't want to) I wanted to know if there were any sleeve friendly pasta alternatives? I use cauliflower for rice and I love it, but am seeing if there is an alternative for pasta.. or if there is a pasta out there that this friendly for us Any suggestions would be appreciated
  10. Do you get the B12 at your regular Dr's office or how does that work? I take daily B12 and don't feel like it's really helping me much and I will be 7 weeks out Friday..
  11. So weird... it put *** in for some of my words I meant to say i have an H M O with them.. not an ***
  12. I have Cigna, just an *** and I heard back in about 4 days. I know that Cigna is very tricky.... so as long as your Dr's office has all the paperwork in order you should be fine. I did a lot of research before to make sure what was needed from my insurance and even just to verify that they will approve it. I also called cigna everyday to see if I was approved. Once they told me I was I had my Dr Office call and get the approval over the phone versus waiting for them to get the info the next day.. this was because I needed to schedule a surgery date. I had one tentatively but Dr wouldn't put it in stone till insurance approved. Luckily they did and within a week of insurance approval I was able to have my surgery! Good luck
  13. Yes Shrimp is the best... I made an omelet with shrimp for dinner the other night after a very intense work out.. one egg and about 4 shrimp.. couldn't eat it all but it was so good... I was worried that shrimp wouldn't agree with me after surgery because I heard a lot of people can't.. but thankfully I can still eat it..
  14. Mine was a total of $110,000 and I had just one night in the hospital and no complications what so ever in the hospital. THank goodness for my insurance I only had to pay a total of $506 out of pocket.. no matter what the price this is worth it because it is going to get all of us into the best health we can be in and really enjoy all that life has to offer. It is insane how much it can add up to!
  15. Hey Everyone, Before surgery I decided to set up a page to have people follow me on my journey. I really want to get as many people for support on my page as I can get. Please feel free to check out my page and like it The more supporters I have the more it will help me reach my goals. Please feel free to share my page with others that may want to share this journey with me It is just a way other than this support site to update family/friends/fellow sleevers on my progress. Thanks everyone, I am so thankful that I have found this website and it's amazing the outreach you get. Here is the link to my page, please feel free to like it and pass it along (I hope there aren't rules about posting things like this...) https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Operation-Fat-Dissapear-Health-Appear/358378980906317?fref=ts
  16. I hate to resize as well, especially since this is just the start of my journey, but If I have to in order to wear them I will.. either that or talk my husband into getting a new ring.. with an even bigger diamond! Yes, that would be a great present once I reach goal!! I love my ring I have now.. its funny because as I lose the weight my diamond looks bigger on my finger... it's 3/4 diamond so decent size and love that its looking even bigger!!
  17. Thanks Its things like this I never even thought of until now LoL.
  18. I'm afraid I am going to have to take mine off if the suggestions don't work. I don't want to have to.. I've only been married about a year so I think I am still very overprotective of my rings LoL. I figure when I have to get them sized maybe I will just do one at a time so I still always have a ring on my finger...
  19. Mine told me anywhere from 45 mins up to two hours, however mine only took about 45 minutes. It was done laparascopically.
  20. Each day I put on my wedding rings I've noticed they are getting a little bigger on my fingers... well I know I have gone down at least a size because I can put my husbands wedding ring on and his is a size smaller than mine. Being that I'm sure my fingers are going to be shrinking fast, I don't want to get them sized too often. Where we got our rings they include unlimited sizing, I just don't want to compromise the rings at all from to much adjusting. Any suggestions on if there is anything out there to help my rings from falling off?? I didn't think this would happen at 5 weeks out, but hey I'm not complaining. I just don't want to look down and see that they have slipped off somewhere LoL. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful
  21. Stalls can happen at any time and last for any amount of time. Mine happened at week 3 and lasted 3 weeks.
