  3. No, it wasn't a recommendation. I had a list of doctors through research and just picked him. I'll be sure to do that.
  4. I'm only a month out but I wanted to know how long after surgery did you start putting cocoa butter or mederma on your scars to fade the discoloration?
  5. Thanks, I'm so happy to be home. No explanation whatsoever. I called yesterday and canceled all my appts coming up with him. I'm looking now for another doctor.
  6. It seems like those that had their surgery late in Sept are losing like crazy. Congrats on that! I'm trying to work on losing the 10 pounds I gained in the hospital. I probably won't meet my goal of 20 lbs lost at my one month. Oh well. I'm just glad to be out the hospital.
  7. Yes, I came home this weekend. I'm feeling a little better. I now have to take blood thinners for a year and I'm on pain pills but I try not to take those. Thanks everyone for your prayers. I've been going crazy in that hospital.
  8. I know right. Time has gone by so fast. Hopefully we'll have no more complications.
  9. 45 lbs since the surgery or does that include pre-op?
  10. Yes, I'm still here. Oh ok, well that's good to hear that.
  11. I asked to be weighed today and gained 10 lbs. Everything is going wrong :-(
  12. I had surgery on 9/12 and started having abdominal pain a couple days later. I figured it was constipation so I called the surgeons office and they told me to take MOM and an enema. It made the pain worst and I never went. So at my one week follow up, I explained that I was in a lot of pain and I hadn't gone to the bathroom. They told me to take 2 bottles of magnesium citrate and a whole lot of enemas. That still didn't work. I was having a hard time getting my fluids in and was very naseuos. So last Friday night, I started to vomit and the pain was to much to handle so I came to the ER. They did an ultrasound on my stomach and later on my legs and determined I had developed blood clots in my abdomen and right leg. I walked like I was told to after surgery to prevent clots and this still happened to me. I've never had any issues with clotting or any family history of it. I'm still in the hospital but have been told I would have to be on Coumedin for at least 9 months once I'm discharged and I have to follow up with a Hematologist for further evaluation. They actually just stopped the Heparin drips and started giving me the Luvulox injections in my tummy. I'm still having constipation issues as well.
  13. I started being hungry a week out but nothing like pre op. When I got real hungry before and didn't eat anything I would get weak and sick. After surgery, I would get hungry but could hold out another hour or so before wanting to eat.
  14. Find me on MFP: Nicole1022
