Just had Surgery
First and foremost, call your Doctor and they will tell you what you need to do. Are you walking? That helps release the gas that builds up. Didn't they give you a booklet of things to expect about the surgery and the do's and don'ts? Drink your Water WALK good luck...let us know how you are doing...

Can i stretch my stomach from throwing up?
i don't believe so, but you can do damage...have you spoken to your doctor about this... you should not be "dumping" like that!

anyone else feel stuck?
Stalls are common...don't give up... I just added a protein shake every day as I learned I was not taking in enough... I have lost 1 pound since I started on Saturday (need to update ticker)... so we shall see how this helps overall... everyone is different and your success is quite good... compare yourself to yourself and not others! When was the last time you lost this amount of weight in that amount of time? If you are like me, NEVER!

Letter came i was Denied
the doctors office should also receive a copy of that letter; usually it's because additional documentation is needed by the insurance company... do not despair... it may still happen for you this year!

Jan 30th surgery, new to the app
They shouldn't have released you until they gave you the info, imo BUT... you are on track, so it's all good. You are probably fatigued more because of the surgery itself...you are still healing, give your body time to recover! If the nausea continues, contact your doctor, a lot of us needed something for nausea just after the surgery...and keep going with your Water, VITAL ingredient!

I didn't anticipate losing this much weight pre surgery
but...the doctor has you documented for the original weight and BMI before you started your pre-surgery program, right? So I don't think that will effect the surgery...but one can never tell these days! Don't stop what you are doing, but do talk to your doctor about your concerns to put your mind at ease. Good Luck!

Quest Cookies & Cream
Jdub...I love ordering online...I am NOT a shopper...but for the protein bars and stuff, I have found the online prices are usually much lower than the store prices...and I get emailed coupons for them, so it's all good ... but I have stopped and picked up one or two protein bars to try before I place my order for them...just to be sure!

Protein Shake Creativity
ooooh....they have orange??? I get it at the World Market, and I know Walmart carries a few flavors... I have hazelnut, raspberry, caramel, vanilla, chocolate...and I think one other... I use them when I make donuts (recipe from Egg Face)...so far I like adding the caramel best in them ...

I ain't gonna lie
Smart girl!!! Imagery is very helpful right now... I think it was Jenny Craig that said, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels"... so true... my mind set is in a whole different place since my surgery, and I may have slowed down, but I'm not gaining because I make better choices... this is all good... you will be fine... we are here to help you get thru it... give it another day or two and you should find it much easier, I did

my co worker just blew up my secret
I work in a small call center...two people had the surgery before me, and one after (so far)... people found out and I was glad to tell them I wish I hadn't waited so long and that WLS is only a tool, I still have to work at it every day... most people don't think of it as the "easy way out" anymore, they are more educated about the process... Just answer questions honestly, there will be some that will benefit from your knowledge! But, bottom line...this was YOURS to tell, not hers...so sorry...let us know how things turn out there...

Protein Shake Creativity
DUH!!!! I didn't even think of adding the syrups...and I have several flavors!!!! Thank you for the idea!

I ain't gonna lie
after the first few days, it does get easier because your body is ridding itself of toxins too... for head hunger (I still have that some days) I find drinking something warm/hot helps... so if I can, I will make myself some decaf tea or unjury chicken broth... sipping it slow seems to help the hunger thoughts disappear... Good luck, you can do this!

Shakeology? Has Anyone tried these protein drinks?
Never heard of it...check the carbs and protein content...some of these protein shakes have a lot of carbs... but I'm sure someone on this forum will have info on that... can't wait to hear!

Quest Cookies & Cream
Power Crunch has a cookies and cream that I found too sweet, along with a few other flavors... but these were my favorites...

constipation Wow
....go and get an enema from the drugstore...it will clear you out in about 5 minutes or less.... then work with the MOM or Mirolax... I had it REALLY bad at one point, and didn't want to go to the ER because I couldn't pass it, so I called my dr and that's what they told me to do, worked great...but shouldn't be used regularly, of course. Have you called your doctor? This is a normal thing...and they really should give us more info on that upfront on what to do... may need to mention it to the Dr's office, if I remember, next time! Good luck

Protein Shake Creativity

Tasting Room - Protein Drinks
When I was pre-op I did the Slim Fast low carb ready to drink bottles, which were good and creamy...but expensive. I just bought Isopure chocolate from Vitamin Shoppe (online is WAAAY cheaper, btw) and it's good, but not as chocolate-y as I would like...so I am still searching as I find I was not getting enough Protein, so 6oz in the morning seems to be helping me a lot! We shall see what the results are soon... but I am SO interested in what others have to say, since I know, now, I need to supplement my protein

1 month out, how many calories?
Didn't your doctor give you a book of the good/the bad/the ugly? I got a nice binder full of hints and how to's...but I don't track calories either... Protein, protein, protein is the key! Good luck

Question
as for me, I don't use any frozen foods/entrees anymore...lots of sodium ...and probably carbs... but check with your doctor, that is really the best thing to do...
-
Quest Cookies & Cream
I haven't tried Quest yet... but I have had Power Crunch Chocolate Mint from Vitamin Shoppe (cheaper online)... like having a thin mint!!! Also, I think better cold... I like the vanilla too, the others seem too sweet for me...but I will try Quest next time I pass a GNC... thanks for the info!

help
glad you are feeling better... my NUT didn't want us on carbs for the first year... or as minimal as possible as there is little nutritional value... I have one "real" carb once a week, when we go out to dinner, I have one of their little rolls that are so yummy and warm... this is my "treat" and I look forward to it... I savor it and eat it S L O W L Y... otherwise those kind of carbs are GONE from my diet, along with carbonated beverages, regular sugar, alcohol, and a few others that have zero benefits for my new life style ... good luck and take care, this will be but a memory, very, very, soon!

Feeling Lethargic
Y'all just had surgery! Give yourselves a break... everyone is different, I was slow to get moving too, I also have RA, so that slowed me down more... I didn't go back so soon, and when I went back I had FMLA for half days for a week so I could ramp up slowly. It all seems like a lifetime ago now, I can move almost like a regular person my legs/knees hurt sometimes; but nothing like before when I was the poster child for JABBA... enjoy your successes and just take it easy, don't expect so much from yourselves! It'll get better soon, promise!

I wouldn't mind so much if......
Oh man, YES...do not compare yourself to others, that's dangerous...I'd be really discouraged if I did that...but like I said, I have been maintaining...and that's better than I have ever done before... I will not pass thru this year without going to Onderland...I have made that promise to myself!!!
