My poor hair. Buy a wig.

I lost hair months after surgery in big chunks, but I have a lot of it, so it was actually nice... but it's back and back to normal now... most types of surgeries have this "fall out" factor... it will pass, but annoying when it happens...
  2. sounds yummy...may do it without the crust...

    So exhausted

You may be dehydrated...make sure you are keeping up with your Fluid intake. Also make sure you take your Vitamins, especially B12 The other thing is that your body has had TWO major surgeries within a month, so it needs time to recover...i.e. rest/sleep.... even tho you just have a few small scars on the outside, you have major healing going on on the inside...so give yourself time to heal. If you are truly concerned about this, of course, contact your doctor....
  4. It's a shame to waste all that food...but you did the right thing for you... I plan in advance for that...I have large baggies and cheap plastic containers...as I clean up, I make goodie bags for everyone to take leftovers (especially the stuff I can't have) ... so they get to go home with something ... it worked great for Thanksgiving for me...almost everyone wants a turkey sandwich leftover ... Good luck to you
  5. I love Torani syrups, I have ordered them online as the flavors can be limited in stores. they should advertise on here @@Alex Brecher ... I use it in my unsweet, decaf tea, in water (like Mio only cheaper), in baking etc...great stuff!

    Nausea Nausea GO AWAY!

It will get better...you may want to try room temperature or hot beverages... they seem to go down easier than ice cold stuff...
  7. My doctor recommends Carbmaster, which I get from Krogers... which one cup has about 60 calories and minimum carbs!!!!

Read this and share! Should be fun!

The other day my husband was telling a friend of his that I've lost 125 pounds..."lost a whole other woman", my husband said...to which his friend replies, "When you find her, send her my way, I'm lonely" .... ROTFLMAO....

    Alcohol

@KrissySMD oh how I miss "Sweet Home Chicago"... living in Savannah, you can't go without Sweet Tea...so mine is the unsweetened variety...decaf...I buy cold brew decaf teabags, so I have them with me if I need it... Also, of course, any of those single servings of crystal light etc are good to carry with you so you don't have to do straight up Water... It's all good... it's SO worth it!

    Alcohol

Alcohol is not suggested because of the empty carbs and (in some cases) carbonation. That being said, I know some folks have had them...usually one is all they can tolerate... I was not a drinker before, so I am the designated driver now, and I'm fine with that. I'm sure others will have more info for you.

    That's cheating!

just smile and move on... people that don't know the facts behind this surgery and obesity will say things like that... good luck to you!

    Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower

I bought some buffalo tofu at Whole Foods the other day... never attempted to do tofu, but they let you have a sample first (deli section) and it was surprisingly good...bought some to mix up with some green Beans ... I also got Mock chicken salad...am going to try to make it on my own (with tofu) and then share...it was YUMMY

    Lost Momentum....help!

Just wondering if you've had the surgery and how you are doing...
  17. BigGirlPanties

    Crushing pills or swallowing pills

Yes you will be able to swallow pills again, depending on your dr... if you are having problems getting your meds down...call your doctor for assistance... some can be crushed up into applesauce or something like that to help you get them down Good luck

    soda

I don't know when your surgery was exactly...but I'd call a dr...either your primary, or your surgeon to make sure you are ok. They do suggest actual ginger slices instead of ginger ale to help with stomach problems... but please call your doctor... Hope you feel better soon
  19. I find this website very helpful...kind of FB for WLS...I rarely go on FB anymore... I get all kinds of useful information here, recipes, tips, etc... Welcome to the World of Bariatrics
  20. The must be certified as a Bariatric Place of Excellence... that's how my Dr is... They have monthly seminars before and after the surgery... I find them helpful, even tho we don't weigh in, I feel more accountable by going... Again, good luck to you..
  21. BigGirlPanties

I was sleeved on june 12th

YES very, very normal!!! That's why most drs tell you not to weigh yourself until you come in to visit them, in the beginning. Your body is bloated from the drugs in the hospital and other things that are done...it will dissipait soon...you need to be patient with yourself during this healing process! I know...easier said than done... Even tho you just have a few small scars on the outside, your insides are stitched up like Frankensteins monster !!! It will take weeks to heal from the inside out. Focus on your fluids, Vitamins, walk and relax...it won't be long before you start "melting"

    Live, Laugh.. Lupus?

If only I had it done when I was SOOO much younger... ...my knees would probably not be bone on bone right now (replacement for 2015, I hope)... because you are younger, your skin will bounce back better, you will learn better eating habits that you will be able to follow for the rest of your life with the surgery as your tool. Don't let other people sway you from what you think is best for YOU... rely on your surgeon and your own self...let people say what they will, with a "thank you for your concern", non commital response and move on! Do what you need to do NOW! Good luck to you!
  23. You should probably review with your surgeon, at 4 weeks you may still get tired easily... but you probably do that already, if you are like me... so as long as your friends don't mind a break now and again for you to recoup, I would think you are ok... I went to New York about 3 months after surgery, and there was a lot of walking (I needed to use a cane because of my RA)... I was able to walk so much better, but at the end of the day, I was exhausted beyond words... Depending on your activities, your doctor can advise, because you are still healing... good luck and have fun!
  24. @Shells_Almost_There what kind is it and wattage? What are you asking for it... if it's in the garage sale pile, it much be going cheap ... I may be interested in buying it from you as my husband wants his blender back in his man cave LOL
  25. yes, i was going to recommend the pillow to ease the pain as well...AND call your doctor!!! Please make sure you are okay... your health is paramount, and the only one that can truly tell what is going on is your doctor... Hope you feel better soon...
