After three days I'm still ticked at my husband!

Little late to the party...but here's my thing... I agree...at minimum a card... I can share with you my experience... My wonderful husband I are aren't married that long... I told him for our one year, I wanted another small gold band to put on the other side of my engagement ring (which is also a band ring), to balance it off, and I like the stacked look... our one year comes, I get a card and nothing else...I bought him several things I knew he'd love (and he did) my disappointment was immense... a little gold band was all I wanted, even TOLD him and was so surprised when he didn't respond he does a lot for me everyday...and I know he loves me...but I DID mention it once I got over the disappointment...and he promised it for the 2nd year... not the same...but we'll see...

    Weight Loss Drugs

I know...I saw that and thought "really?" ...couldn't even think of a response for her except ... "NO, you have GOT to be kidding" (but I didn't)... all that stuff is so bad for you as well...lots of caffeine usually (appetite inhancer) and full of chemicals.... We need to do this the right way, now that we have the right tool!

    Trying to understand

@cutiecake ...thanks...it applies to so many things in life, right? Truly, I don't regret this one iota...I wish I had done it DECADES ago and maybe my arthritis wouldn't be so bad... It is easier to stay on track ...but there is still work to be done... I have been "maintaining" for way too long... I need to break this stall and get the rest off, and it will be hard...but if I don't and stay here....I am a happy girl!

    Lovenox injections after surgery!?!?!?

Your doctor said you have to have it? I had the sleeve and I didn't need any injections...

    Insurance confusion help!

did they want the procedure code? Most insurance copies should know whether or not that's covered...but maybe not each criteria
  6. Rotissiere chickens are great...remove skin...at almost all grocery stores...usually juicy, already prepared and ready to go!

    Trying to understand

"whether you think you can, or you think you can't...either way you are right" We have to put in the work... I don't eat junk anymore...no interest in it either...no carbonated beverages, no alcohol...and I don't miss any of it. When we go out to eat is the only time I will have a true carb...one warm, hot roll (or half if they are big)...and I enjoy every little mouthful instead of stuffing my face full of bread, and all the other crap like I used to. It's a wonderful tool... but don't put it up on the pegboard and let it collect dust...USE IT !

3 weeks post op and Stressed

I missed the part that you were back at work...when did you return? You may have gone back too soon...your insides are healing even tho your outsides only have a few little scars... I was out for 3 weeks and then went back for half days the first week... much easier transition for me... good luck

    Hassle of getting approved

when they do the hernia...they can do the WLS...many doctors do them at the same time... Did the doctors office give you a better explanation? BMI isn't the only factor... sleep apnea is another reason you can get it, along with others... call the doctors office and get answers... you can also call your insurance company for specs on getting it done... Good luck
  10. isn't it amazing how something so simple can be so satisfying now?
  11. You are on track for YOU, and that's all that matters. That's 1/2 a pound a day!!! (a little more actually)...so think about it that way... Everyone loses at their own rate, follow your guidelines and you will be fine.

    Baby Food Pouches

Some doctors will let you use them...you need to check...many have high sugar content...but I'm sure there are some "low/no sugar" options.... my doctor advised against them, as well as the NUT... So I'd say check with them to be sure.

@McButterpants my exact words....lol I found room temp or warm/hot beverages much easier to tolerate in the beginning as well

Mothers day scheduled at a buffet ... Lol

Also, check with the place...if you let them know you had bariatric surgery, some will only charge you a childs plate... you can do this!

Struggling not to drink with food

it is hard...somedays harder than others for me...I struggle with it, because I'm a "drinker" ... always sipping on fluids...so not having them before/during/after meals is difficult... good luck... I'd be interested in some "tricks" if folks have some
  16. We have a place called Bojangles here that has roasted Chicken bites,...love the seasoning they put on it... one order is good for at least 2 meals... but, of course, that's when you get to solids...

    Tomorrow is the big day!

hope all went well...may I ask if your insurance covered it and, if so, who do you have??? I had a similiar starting weight...but still have a bit to go

    Bari Life?

Yeah a sample would have been GREAT!!! That's part of the problem...so many of the bari products are expensive...tho they are BULK items...we need samples first... some places will let you return an opened container...but it's just so wasteful! ... maybe if the website was contacted they would send out a sample like Quest does...

    Books

Alex Brecher has a book called The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve...or something like that... I haven't gotten it yet, but my friend did and she found it very informative... kudos @AlexBrecher ... there is also the Success Habits book that gives you a lot of info... and the internet is a plethora of info on the subjects... if you have a surgeon already, check with them on the sites they recommend as well... good luck on your Quest...
  21. My Success Habits Counselor has a saying about her size..."it's Nisa (her name) size"... mainly because she is bottom heavy and has to have a lot tailored...so she buys from Goodwill and has them tailored and is still ahead of the game...she cuts out the size tags, because that doesn't matter to her. Being big boned and tall, a 12/14 would be more than "skinny" for me...coming from a 30/32 and now at a 18... so things are getting there...but anything smaller would mean I'd look like a skeleton with skin (like those exhibits...LOL) ... as long as I'm healthy, I'm happy... I will NEVER be a single digit wearer...not in the cards for me...this I know! Just happy with who I am now...and looking forward to the future!

    Pregnancy after gastric

My sister had a beautiful girl about 2-3 years after her gastric bypass...she had a c-section because that's what she had for the first one. She had no complications because of her bypass...but I'm sure there will be someone that actually experienced it that will answer ...

    liquid diet ugggg

Didn't you bring anything to keep you "busy"? Idle hands are the devils workshop...LOL... But, I'm with you...if I'm bored, I look for Snacks...tho my BIG snack is raw almonds LOL... Try drinking something warm/hot like decaf tea...that helped me get over the "hump" Good luck!
  24. small sips...and you may want to try warm/room temp fluids for right now...sometimes the cold stuff will bother you... if that doesn't work, call your doctor for suggestions... I found a cup of decaf tea very soothing...or broth Good luck, you will get thru this!
  25. Yeah,..had me a bit concerned too LOL we'll wait for the update I'll tell you one thing... I had gone to a thrift store and found a beautiful braided belt for $1.00 only to find out it was COACH!!! It was WAY too small for me (at the time) so I was going to sell it... found it after we recently moved...and I had room to spare...talk about your NSV!!! I love wearing it...it is truly a "symbol" for me even tho no one else sees it LOL
