  1. Yay!!!! So happy you found it!!!
  2. Oh, sorry, didn't realize you were that far out. I've not experienced ulcers. Hope it turns out ok for you....good luck
  3. Happilysleeved- well said!!! So happy for you & keep up the good work
  4. Oh how I wish I was one of the lucky ones. For me, no, this was not the case. So I have to be careful of my choices on a day to day basis.
  5. My own personal goal, I would like to be 115 but 121 is awesome (don't get me wrong). I'm shaped like an apple, small framed, and have an apron....I know, most of us do. A lot of it is my own perception of what I see in the mirror (something I'm working on). To me, I feel like I'm still carrying that extra 5-10 pounds in my gut. I work out 3-5 times a week but I'm trying for the first time, in a long time, to be happy with me.
  6. Not a nurse but I've been in pantoprazole for refux & heartburn since surgery. Are you taking a proton pump inhibitor for reflux? It really does help with reducing acid in the stomach.
  7. Newgrandmother- hello darling, you know you're not alone. I too am a slow loser or am I? Guess you can look at either way. I would have never lost 56 lbs in 6 mos on my own. Or, if I did, I'd surely be slowly packing back on the pounds by now. You will get there....as they say: slow & steady wins the race
  8. I don't consider myself a newbie anymore & I don't consider myself a vet yet. Guess I'm stuck in that rather odd stage like a kid in middle school. I hope that I've helped some of the newbies & I hope I've learned some lessons from the vets Well, my 6 mos Surgiversary was March 4th (hard to believe).... I am proud to announce my 56 lb weight loss & hitting my goal, plus losing an 3 extra pounds, bringing my weight to 121. I am in a size 5/6 pants & Med shirt. Best of all, I feel GREAT! I am sad the honeymoon phase is over & that I am now in the next phase- Maintenance!!! I seem to fluctuate 2 pounds up & back down again (I hate yo-yo'ing) I have not lost any additional weight in weeks, UGH! I truly hate stalls but my Dr thinks my body has reached a place it's happy with. If that's the case, then I'm going to have to be happy with it, but I'm not!!! So, I would like to hear from others who are 6 mos out or beyond. Are you happy with your success so far? Disappointed in your loss? What are you eating at this point? Do you change it up? Getting all your fluids and protein in? So many questions, so much to still learn.
  9. Damn, you're looking mighty fine!!!! Keep up the awesome work
  10. If anyone can do it, it's you Keep us posted....

  14. Ok, Relax & Breath! Think of the last time you used it. Could it be in an old purse? Piece of luggage? Where would you normally keep it? Did you travel with someone? I have faith, you will find it.
  15. Yes, I stay away from beer (causes too much gas) & I will have wine or Malibu & Diet Coke.
  16. At 8 weeks out my post op diet consisted of: Beef, fish, turkey, chicken, pork, veal- moist & tender sugar free pudding & low fat yogurt Cooked Veggies (low sodium) Whole grain crackers, whole wheat pastas broth based Soups Unsweetened cereals (special k, oatmeal, shredded wheat, all bran) Whole grain bread smoothies These are some examples off of my post op dietary plan

  20. So, I am, like most, in yet another stall. I did Lil Diva's Bootcamp to kick start my weight loss (which worked) but as soon as I started reintroducing foods again...BAM, the weight I had lost came back on. I know I need to be patient but I am so close to hitting my goal.....Very Frustrated Today
  21. Well, to jump start your weight loss look up Lil Diva's Bootcamp on the forum. It really works, lost a pound a day.
  22. I copied a few things from my dietary 6 week plan....hope it helps: Diced poultry, veggie burgers, pork, veal, Atkins advantage, eggs, fish, nut butters (pb, almond butter, soy butter...without added sugar), mild cheeses (low fat or fat free cottage cheese, ricotta, American, mild cheddar, mozzarella sliced, shredded and string), cereal- oatmeal, cream of wheat, whole wheat crackers, cooked veggies- green beans, carrots, peas, beets & other non starchy cooked veggies (low sodium).
