    Pouch Test

Thanks for sharing what the pouch test is....I may have to jump on board that train. I will be glad when the holidays are over, the temptation is agonizing!
  3. I also had sleep apnea & wore a CPAP. I wore mine for about 6 weeks after surgery. The only way I knew my sleep apnea wasn't affecting me & everyone else in my family (lol), I decided to not wear it one night & they told me I didn't snore. Needless to say, it has been put away in the closet ever since. However, I would suggest you speak to your Dr as he may want another sleep study done. Best of luck to you

  6. First of all, CONGRATS!!! We will all be here with you on your journey towards a happier, healthier life. Personally, I am almost 3 mos out. I would suggest eating as healthy as you can....such as Van de Kamp's parchment baked tilapia, halibut, or salmon, along with a healthy vegetable. The fish is easy to cook & tasted great! Anyway, best of luck and I know you'll do GREAT!

    110 Lbs Gone In 5Mos :)

Amytequilahouse- CONGRATS!!! You look A-MAZ-ING!!! Keep up the great work & wishing you much success to a happier, healthier future!
  13. Jennlg2- make sure to do lots of research & ask questions before making your decision. I personally chose the sleeve because I know 2 people who had the band & had nothing but trouble. My friend had to have the band removed because it eroded into her stomach lining & my other friend who had the band said getting fills & risk of slippage or problems is not good. Her band has slipped & she has regained all her weight plus some & has to have surgery to have it removed. Well, needless to say, that was enough convincing for me! I'm not trying to persuade you either way. Just do your research & chose what's best for you

    Undecide* Help*

Karely- whatever your decision is, best of luck to you. I will tell you, make sure to do your research & ask lots of questions. Although we can't make the decision for you, do what's right for you. I personally had the sleeve & have never been happier. (Also, I have lost 40 pounds in 3 months & now have no comorbidities.)
  15. Holland- good luck in whatever path you take. I'm sure after doing your research & talking with others who have went thru both surgeries you will chose what's best for you. I have had the sleeve but did a lot if research myself first. I spoke with people who had the band, RNY & sleeve. I watched videos of the sleeve procedure, found a great Dr to do the surgery. I am almost 3 months out & have lost 40 pounds. Best of luck & will see you on the loser's bench

  20. Nurse mom- I am 5' 4" & my starting weight was 177, BMI 32. Comorbidities...high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, GERD, high sugar levels, etc. Anyway, I had surgery 09/04/12 & to date am off all meds. Apnea-gone, HBP- normal, blood sugar- normal, cholesterol- normal....my point, I feel the best I have felt in years. Do what your gut tells you & do what's best for you. Best of luck in your decision & I know whatever your decision, it will be what's right for you.
  21. You look awesome!!! Best of luck to you in the future.
  22. Unfortunately, I missed my goal by 2 pounds. Although I am maintaining a 40 weight loss, so I'll take it!!! I'll try for my next goal of 130 for Christmas, current weight 137....
  23. Thank you for the input Rick...I'm hoping this doesn't last long.
  24. You look great! Keep up the good work!
  25. Maybeoneday- ok, take a deep breath, this is one big happy, supportive group here. (We're one big happy family...think of us as the cousins you've never met...lol). I am a MX Sleever, mine was done in Tijuana. You are going to be fine & I'm sorry your family isn't supporting your decision. It's very important to do your research on the Dr & the facility. You can provide them with as much information as possible to put both them & yourself at ease. Can s@#t happen, yes, I suppose it can. Is it likely to happen, not so much. If you have questions, make a list & ask both here on this site & address your concerns with the Dr. Best of luck to you & try not to worry.
