  1. Now you're talking! Sounds wonderful!!
  2. Those things look awesome!
  3. Love chicken spiedini. I was bummed out last time I was at the OG. It wasn't on the menu anymore.
  4. Has anyone tried the tofu noodles? I saw them in the store today and was curious. I'm still about 3 weeks away from eating them though. I love spaghetti squash btw. It goes good with salmon.
  5. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to hitting the two hundreds myself. It will be awhile for me though.
  6. My doctor has me taking b12, a multi, and calcium citrate in the morning. Then calcium citrate for lunch and another calcium citrate and multi at dinner time. No iron is required for me. He does mention to take iron at least 2 hours after the other stuff.
  7. Good luck! Walk, walk, walk, walk! As soon as you are stable enough on your feet of course!
  8. Well, my surgery happened on 2/14 and no one really gave a damn about my pump. They knew about it, but pretty much left the management of it up to me. It turns out the doctor's orders were just a blanket rubber stamp type of document. He assumes type 2 which cutting off insulin at midnight is probably a good idea. Kind of pissed at the doctor doing this, but my surgery was great. I took no narcotic pain meds and I feel great!
  9. Welcome aboard. I had my VSG on Valentines Day too. I'm down 35 today. Started my preop at 397 on 1/31. I'm shooting for 220-225 on my 6'6" frame.
  10. Same here. I'm using the leftover surgical soap to clean my incisions. We normally use dial which is antibacterial, but I'm sure that surgical soap is much better.
  11. Yeah 90 minutes of walking sounds kind of excessive. The most adventurous thing I've done so far is drive my sister from my house to Love field in Dallas and back. That's about an hour and a half round trip. She flew in the day before my surgery to take care of our kids while my wife was with me. My doctor said I could drive as long as I wasn't on pain meds. My only fear the whole time was a shart. Luckily that didn't happen :-)
  12. Get out there and walk as soon as possible. It really helps. Good luck! You'll be on the loser's bench soon.
  13. I think if the preop diet is very short lived, then they do a bowel prep. I did two weeks of preop protein shakes without a bowel prep (dropped 25 lbs.) . For some people the preop diet is just a few days or it's just a calorie restriction.
  14. Sharts suck, but constipation is worse IMHO! Stay vigilant and don't become complacent with farts!
  15. Yeah they are great until you turn from fart to shart! They will sneak up on you!
