  1. I'm a T1 with a pump. I can tell you that my basals have dropped several times since my preop diet started. What I've found that works well is running a temporary basal of 90% after I've struggled to maintain a good blood sugar for a few days. Once that works out, then reprogram a new rate for 10% less. My boluses are down, and TDD is down a lot. I was at a TDD of 150-160 units a day and now I'm 40 or 45. This is over the course of a little more than 2months. I started my preop on 1/31 and got my surgery on 2/14.
  2. I'm 5 weeks postoperative. The PA said to do whatever I want in terms of working out. She said at this point there's nothing I can do that will damage my sleeve.
  3. So far so good. I was sleeved on Valentines. 397 on Jan 31 when the preop diet started. 338 this morning. I started eating solids on Thursday. I'm tolerating them well, but I'm really piling on the hot sauce. I've always loved spicy food, but I love it even spicier now. Very strange. I feel like I can almost take a drink of Tabasco straight.
  4. I'm below 350 for the first time in about 3 years. The last diet I was on took me from 430 to about 345. That was a 7 month diet. I never could go lower than 345 (even though I was working out 90 minutes a day) and became discouraged. I started my sleeve journey at 397 on 1/31. I'm 349 on 3/9 and I haven't even been cleared for strenuous work outs yet! Life is good! I can't wait to start kicking some ass in the gym!
  5. Same here. I stalled for almost one full week. I'm in week 3. It looks like I'm coming out of it. I dropped 3 lbs this morning.
  6. Same here I can easily drink 96+ oz per day. That's what I had in water alone yesterday.
  7. I think the main reason for restricting caffeine is dehydration. It is a big deal initially after surgery, but not that big of a deal later on.
  8. I have it pretty easy dress code wise. Business causal on Tues and Thurs, I work from home on Mon and Wed (I could work in my undies if I wanted), and since this is Texas we get blue jeans on Friday. Today is my first day back on the job.
  9. Sweet! I put on a pair 3 sizes smaller than my preop jeans and walked around the zoo all day with my wife and kids. I feel great!
  10. I was a 170-200 unit a day "double diabetic" now I'm using less than 50. No more metformin either.
  11. Heading back Monday 2/25 after surgery on 2/14. I could have made it back sooner, but I was pretty weak from a week long clear liquid diet.
  12. Your experience sounds very much like mine. That weight gain from you hospital stay will quickly go away. I dropped 6 pounds over night the first night I was back home. They were pumping me with fluids until the very end. My IV came out and I was out the door literally about 5 minutes afterwards.
  13. I'm just up the street from that corner. We live in the Knowles at Russell Creek (closer to Custer and McDermott). We have a leased home and moved in from Wilmington, Delaware last March.
  14. Ask your doctor, but I can tell you I take a pepcid daily without crushing it. It's about as big around as a wooden pencil and it's kind of thin. The doctor specifically told me to avoid capsules, but was fine with the pepcid going down whole.
  15. That stinks. I should make my own spiedini. I used to eat it there quite a bit when I was on my last diet before surgery. I used to eat it in Dover, Delaware when I was a contractor for the state.
  16. I ate at an OG in early January of this year. It's was in Texarkana, TX. My favorite dish was gone! I haven't been to any around the DFW area which is home to me.
