  1. Just relocated (2weeks ago) from palm beach FL to san antonio TX area
  2. I was moving out of FL about 1 month after and wanted to take my daughter one last time before we left...so I did! Most of the restaurants also have a menu (you dont have to do the buffet) if they do, just order from the menu and get soup (or something else) small. The other tip I did was order hot tea and that took time to eat and I was able to sit and enjoy my tea while the family ate. On the last morning at our hotel the waiter actually let me go up and get oatmeal and nuts from the buffet with my tea at no charge. Just depends but you can always work around it!!! Good luck!!!!
  3. I too had the nausea and still do when I drink just water (prior to surgery on 7.23/12) I would drink water by the gallon daily!!!! That was HARD for me, I have found TWO things that make it easy to get liquids down - HOT TEA - saviour!!!!!!!! I also use this in restaurants if I am not going to eat and others are - it "fills" me and I really enjoy it!!!!! Also just found these bottles of Lipton sugar free green tea citrus. I have never liked citrus but ther is just enough to give flavor - no carbination and of course caffeine free tea.....try these things and hopefully you will be THANKING your self in no time for taking control of your health and happiness and on your way to the THINNEST you that you can be!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I was not required to do any pre liquid. Just follow the last stage of the post op diet. I wouldn't go crazy but u will be fine!!! Good luck!
  5. I only use almond milk and love it with the shakes. Vanilla and unsweetened. Also I am 4 wks out today and have had both almonds and cashews and they are fine. Only about 5 or so at a time and chew them good!
  6. I tried those shiratke noodles about a year ago and the smell was sooooooo foul I can't even imagine how they would smell to me now! So caution when using them if u decide to do so!
  7. Agree!!! And I need some tips too!!
  8. I got them figuring if I was having issues getting all protein in I would use them. I tasted one and it is like syrup.... Sweetness and thickness!!! Blah!!!!! I did decide that I would use them by added a couple ounces to my crystal light and it made that taste like a Popsicle. Really over powered the flavor of the crystal light. I didn't mind it mixed up the flavored and gave me some extra protein. I wouldn't buy them again but will try to use what I have already in this way!
  9. Gabby wen did u start really a solid daily exercise routine. I am 4 weeks out and doing 4-5 days/ week.... Just curious.....
  10. Funny, I have been to Chipotle twice since surgery as my four year old LOOOOOOVES it! I order her the kids soft taco kit (to go) and get chicken as one of the sides, she doesnt like chicken so I eat that little container and she eats the rest of the meal! Works nice and we both eat for about 6 bucks (and sometimes that chicken can last me all day)!!!!! Hope it lasts too!!!!
  11. Tracey how far out r u?
  12. I have been thinking about this lately. On sep 7 I will move f Florida to tx!!! Hope it doesn't stall the loss or weight or other issues... Hang in there!!!
  13. I meant NO food dreams for me
  14. NO dreaming about food. And unlike so many threads I read I do not feel "tortured" by food I used to love when it surrounds me. I have ZERO appetite for anything and am just eating bc I HAVE to. Hot tea is the only thing I enjoy now. Maybe this is good but it seems odd when I'm reading all the other posts. Surgery date 7/23/12.
  15. Try to get the Morningstar farms chicken patties. Veggie dogs. Chic nuggets.... All w no meat but have protein in them similar to meat
  16. Non Scale Victory!!!!!! Yay for those!!!!
  17. Try hot tea. Water is ruff for me to take in now. But tea is nice!!!!!!
  18. Prior to surgery 4 weeks ago I was a water freak! Couldn't get snug and drank several large bottles a day!!! Now.... Not so much!!!! I have a hard time with it but I have found that hot tea has become my new best friend!!!!!! Thank god or I would be having issues! Decaf with a little almond milk and sometimes sugar substitute... Ask the hospital to give u some it may just go down better.... Good luck!
  19. I'm almost 4 weeks out and there's NOTHING I want... Eating is a chore and that's very odd!!! I would get some unflavored protein and add it to the apple sauce. Atleast then ur getting some in! Good luck!
  20. Nurse told me I was an oddity but I woke up night of surgery at 11 pm. So about 12 hrs post to go to the bathroom! And has pretty much stayed on the same schedule as pre surgery (daily).
  21. For me the nausea last the first 2 days post op and seemed to creep up wen I talked too much. I learned that and just let people know so I didn't have to talk. I never actually threw up BUT that watery jaw feeling would last several minutes at a time and it was not fun. Other than that and the gas the first day out it was all a piece of cake!!!! :-)
  22. I had my surgery the same day! July 23. Down 33lbs as of this morning... I am a happy girl!!!!!! :-)
