  1. I was sleeved 5 weeks ago today. I lost 19 pounds total since surgery, but I've been the same weight for 3 weeks now... I've noticed I've lost 7 - 8 inches overall on my body, but no weight has been lost. I feel it's due to me transitioning from liquids to "foods" .... any clue how to jumpstart some weight loss again? I'm not cheating at all.
  2. how soon post-op can I wear a girdle or shapewear of some sort? I have the dermabond glue keeping my incisions shut, I'm 8 days post op, is it to soon?
  3. So my friend and I went through with the surgery only weeks from each other. I was just sleeved on the 12th, so 6 days ago, and she was sleeved 3 weeks ago. She texted me a trick she did, she had said in the first weeks of the post op, when she was cooking for her family, she'd put the food item in her mouth and chew it (say a buffalo wing) and get the taste all inside her mouth, chew chew chew, and then spit it out, so it wasn't consumed at all or swallowed. What does everyone think of this? Safe? Harmful?
  4. I ended up going today. TMI LOL
  5. I tried coffee yesterday, and had a very small bm - like tiny with a lot of pushing. I might have to try the seeds.
  6. It is allowed, will do thanks
  7. My surgery was 9/12 a Wednesday - 5 days ago, I haven't pooped since 2 days BEFORE surgery, so a week today... Is this normal? I've been taking Fiber, all my Vitamins, and also have taken 2 Philips "help you go" pills...
  8. Wear something lose and comfortable.
  9. I was trying not to get on the scale for at least week, but curiosity got the best of me lol.
  10. Came home today. The pain in my incisions is minimal, I'm walking fine. I can drink Water and shakes ok. When I woke up from surgery I had intense gas pains stuck in the middle of my chest, and that was basically the worst of it. I got on the scale though and it shows that I gained 9 pounds since the day of surgery. How long will these fluids and stuff from surgery be in me?
  11. Thanks everyone And I'm glad to hear a few others who got their dates the other day too
  12. Sept 12th, 11am. Start the liquid diet on Aug 29th, also have the blood work and whatever else that day. actually, my liquid diet allows for a small and healthy dinner meal, and the 3 Protein shakes a day. I got in my unflavored Protein powder today, and so far so good. A happy me today.
  13. Thank you, I'll check that article out
  14. wasn't fully sure where to post this topic. I purchased a nice Weight Watchers electronic scale, that you could even plug into the computer and track your progress, and it would tell you the BMI and such, it was retailed at $120 but I got it on ebay for like $25, new in box. Well the problem is I'll get on the scale 4 different times, and get 3 different readings. any suggestions on how to reset it? Fix it... etc?
  15. Ok, aside from knowing that Protein helps heal, helps with lean muscle mass, and helps keep you full, does it actually help with losing weight? Like say you weren't a WLS patient and just wanted to lose some weight.. and started doing a liquid diet that didn't contain a whole lot of protein VS: one that did.
  16. I have a few days before I go on my liquid diet, thats what I meant.
  17. I was told no drinking at all for 6 months, and when you can drink again, a glass of wine, or even one shot can make you prettttty drunk.
  18. To help them shed some weight before surgery? http://www.everydiet...cred-heart-diet If so, did it work? How much did you lose?
  19. My plan for after surgery is Water aerobics too, I love swimming, and the low impact factor. It will def be my work out preference. I'm actually starting today on doing some of it pre-op with my pre-op diet. Swimming burns the most calories.
  20. So you lost 11 pounds in a week? wow My usual plan was this: Breakfast- Protein shake lunch - fresh lunch meat and cheese - no bread dinner - serving of meat But somewhere I strayed with the whole "omg I'll never eat any of this stuff again" and bad food crept back into the plan. I DO feel like I won't cheat once surgery comes into play, it's just kind of been the mindset that I still can eat this and never will again. But I'm setting myself back on track TODAY. Thanks for sharing!
  21. Thank you for the Welcomes When I first saw my surgeon I was advised to lose 10 pounds before surgery, on top of 20 pounds on a liquid diet 2 weeks before surgery - so for me 30 pounds total. Well, I foolishly over ate and over socialized the month of seeing her and before seeing my dietician for the 1st time, and had gained 10. I lost the 10 I gained, but now I'm stalled on the original 10 she wanted me to lose. I don't want to get on her scale, not having lost any weight from her point of view, though once she skims my chart, she will see I had gained then lost. I'm pretty stressed about it honestly. I was thinking of drinking a gallon of Water a day, and just kind of sticking to greek yogurts.
