  1. Have you been taking meds for it? I wish I was able to help, I am only about 5 weeks out and my pcp gave me nexium to take as a preventative measure for my healing tummy but since I have been taking it I haven't had any reflux issues either. I hope you feel better without having to go to bypass
  2. It does get better, I was miserable from the day of surgery and 3 days after most of it was due to the pain medication they had given me I was getting sick from it and then from the tube in my throat, anesthesia and everything I was coughing and miserable. I was not able to get in Water because it felt like it would get "stuck" so I have been drinking Powerade zero or gatorade since. You may want to try pedialyte popsicles they were my saving grace. Tomorrow I will be 5 weeks out and feel a whole bunch better, I still get the moments of what did I do but that happens when a food doesn't agree with me, or I forget to chew enough or drink too much too fast.. but its all a new learning curve. Keep your head up!!!
  3. I use Unjury protein - I love the Chocolate I add milk and warm it up and taste like hot cocoa and also the vanilla is great! I normally put some ice in a blender with a scoop of vanilla ( you could use the choc also), cup of lactose fat free milk and add a teaspoon of instant caffeine free coffee blend it up and yummers!
  4. I am sorry you had to go through this, my prayers to you and your family and I hope you have a speedy recovery! I hope that others as you mentioned that may have scar tissue speak to their surgeons beforehand about it, definitely is a great question to ask.
  5. Initially I was using neosporin it seemed like it took forever for them to scab up and heal. Since then, I have been using cocoa-butter with Vitamin E or just vitamin E oil.. not sure if it will work but I hope so. Keep up the great work everyone!
  6. I also like victorias secret pink but my fav that I wear all the time is "Mariah Carey - Luscious Pink" I love it so much I have the oil too!
  7. I too had my period on the day of surgery, before they took me in I put a tampon and then after surgery I swapped out for the pad. I guess every doctor is different.. but my oh my it feels like it is back with a vengeance this month lol
  8. I wasn't a revision but the soreness will last for a while. My post-op the first week my doctor just wanted me to concentrate on fluids and not worry about protein. I have only had maybe 2 ounces of water since surgery it is too hard for me to get down so I have been drinking powerade zero. I am now a little over a month out and still can not get in 64oz of fluids but I try and I am now able to get in at least 60gr of protein thanks to the shakes. The fluids will get better as you heal, right now your tummy is swollen so in time you'll be able to drink more. One thing I would suggest is to get some pedialyte popsicle and see if you can get them down to help ensure you do not get dehydrated.
  9. I requested they stop giving me pain meds and I started feeling better (too bad for me it was the last day in the hospital lol). I haven't taken any since and I am a little over a month out. I hope you feel better!
  10. That is true, it is what I have gathered from the boards. If something doesn't agree with one person it doesn't mean it wont agree with the next. Also, everyone heals at different paces and everyone's doctors and post op eating instructions are different. The bottom line though is to listen to your doctor because he knows best for you
  11. That is awesome!! Good Luck to you as well We are all doing great!!
  12. Oh man, not good. Hopefully your doctor will be able to help you out. In the meantime maybe you can try some pedialyte popsicles, this should help keep you hydrated if your able to get them in. Or just the regular pedialyte if cold things cause problems.
  13. Sleeved 11/8 - Weight 282 1 week post-op: 268 -14lbs 2 weeks post-op - 265 -3lbs (17lbs total) 3 weeks post-op - 262 -3lbs ( 20lbs total) 1 month post-op - 258 -4lbs (24lbs total since surgery) I make sure I get at least 60grams of Protein everyday (usually by protein shakes) and then I eat maybe an additional 9 grams throughout the day and calories are around 600-640 a day. I haven't started to exercise yet, but soon enough!
  14. Are you taking any medications (maybe one of them can be causing it?) Are you getting sick after eating or after waiting and then drinking? ( I know I need to wait an hour after eating before I can drink otherwise I am sick) Have you been in touch with your doctor? I wish I knew the answer to help you feel better because I know what it is like to get sick
  15. How long ago were you sleeved? I hope you feel better soon!
  16. Awe, I am sorry you feel this way. I am actually feeling like that today food didn't want to agree with me today at all. I hope you feel better soon! Just remember to try to at least get in your fluids.
  17. I am 4 weeks out today also and I too am starting to eat a little more of everything but making sure I chew and chew and chew. Grazing I have no idea how to do that haha. I say that because I try to drink all day long ( I struggle with getting 64oz in) and before a meal I have to wait at least 30-45mins and then after I eat I have to wait an hour .. I have no time right now to graze Keep up the great work ! 31lbs down is awesome!!
  18. I spoke to my PCP beforehand and explained everything to her and she agreed to treat me afterwards. I actually went yesterday to see her and she said I was "Brave" and that she should recommend people to go to Mexico if they can't afford it here in the US
  19. I am sorry you are dealing with this, I wonder if this was caused because of too much acids in the new stomach? I am 4 weeks out today and went to my pcp yesterday and she gave me Nexium to take once a day she mentioned it was to help my stomach heal. I do not have much acid reflux anymore but I will give it a shot and to me I guess maybe our tummies are still producing a lot of acid and do not realize to slow down? or maybe we just cant eat enough to absorb it all in the beginning (just my thoughts, I may be way wrong lol) As for hair loss are you getting your Protein in? I am taking Biotin (they say it is supposed to help with the hair loss). I hope you feel better!
  20. It may be best to ask your doctor, everyone's seems to be different. I had my surgery in Mexico and I was told to visit my pcp at 1 month and then again at 3 months. Good luck with your move!
  21. I know sometimes corn startch may help and I have heard deodorant helps under the breast when sweat causes rashes, may help with yours. Always best to ask a doctor for sure the best way
  22. Have you checked to see if you would be covered under the ER portion of coverage? I know my health insurance company does not cover anything in regards to WLS .. but when I asked what if I need to go to the ER for something after surgery and I was told I would be covered because it is an ER visit. Insurances are just all so different and confusing I know it sucks!
  23. Yes they mail it back to you, i received my birth certificate back 2 days after the passport arrived. Do you have to rush your passport or do you have enough time for normal processing? what is making you worried?
  24. Enjoy yourself and take advantage of the bed... oh my goodness if I could have taken it home I would have lol Keep us posted!!
