Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
Have my six month appointment today and don't you know I just got my period UGH! My check ups always seem to coincide with my period. Not to mention I gained two pounds two weeks ago and was on vacation. This past week I lost the two pounds but with my period I am afraid I will be back up again. I am at 201 and just want to get to ONEderland already. It is like I am sabatoging myself or something. Oh yeah, and I went out for dinner and frozen yogurt with my daughter last night. SIGH......

How many carbs should I be eating?

On vacation
Couple things......Ice Cream Chipwich is DEFINITELY a slider food! I ate almost a WHOLE chipwich! I walked about 4 miles yesterday and about 3 miles today so hopefully that will help combat. Am looking forward to getting home and getting back on track! Fiddleman, your comment about a good choice is only one choice away was so good and I WILL be back making good choices. Thanks for your input friends!

On vacation
On vacation with my husband and am eating like a crazy person. Still eating little portions but eating things I know I shouldn't! Eating out for every meal. Ice cream, bread, had a drink at dinner tonight. I am feeling a bit out of control and although at the moment I eat something I shouldn't I enjoy it I Immediately feel horrible about it afterwards. I did walk 4 miles today so I hope that helps combat the Chipwich I just ate at 10 pm I am really disappointed in myself and afraid that I will start going backwards and never reach my goal. Thanks for letting me vent.

Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
The only suggestion that I can offer is that I have upped my calories a tiny bit and am losing actually faster. I was always up till now 600 to 650 calories for the day 60 to 70 grams of protein. I am now around 700 to 750 calories and 70 to 80 grams of protein. Last week I lost 5 and this week I lost 4. I was sleeved 10/11/12. Up until now I was losing approximately 2 pounds per week. Maybe you are eating too few calories?

Consipation
I also use Miralax. No taste and works after about 2 or 3 doses (days)

Challenge: 1st Day of Summer Weigh-In

DOS 10/11/12 278 CW 3/20/13 210 Goal for 6/21/13 190 20 pounds......hopefully the nicer weather will kick up the weight loss. That is approximately 1.5 pounds per week. My first big goal is to his ONEderland!!! Good luck everybody!

Challenge: Spring 2013 goal! Way in on the first day of spring
10/11/12 DOS 278 1/1/13 235 2/14/13 218 3/20/13 210 I am trying not to be too ambitious because I don't want to be disappointed but I think 25 pounds is doable? Above was my goal set in January and I am so happy to say I met my goal last Thursday! So on this first day of spring I am really proud of myself for making the goal. I weigh tomorrow (on Thursdays) so hopefully I will have surpassed my goal! HOW ABOUT A FIRST DAY OF SUMMER CHALLENGE NOW?!

October Sleevers-Weight Loss Stall/Slower Loss Now
I have noticed that I have been "picking" a bit. A taste of this, a bite of that. I was sleeved on 10/11. Last week I lost only 1 pound. Each month I have been losing approximately 10 pounds. I am getting a bit nervous. I know I have to get ramp up the exercise. I so want to get to Onderland and worry that I never will.

6 months out and not losing!
Thanks for sharing. I just read over the guide and it was a good reminder!

Bye-bye Lane Bryant!
Yay for all of you! I too finally feel like my sizes are going down. I was squeezing myself into stuff that was 1 to 2 sizes too small before so it has taken a while. But I bought a bunch of Old Navy stuff in a regular XL instead of the plus size. I am only getting a few things because I know I will continue to go down. I am so anxious to get near to my goal so I can really shop. I literally have not shopped for more than a couple of pieces of clothing in probably 10 years. (My MOM was giving me stuff that she didn't want or didn't fit - and she is plus size). It is so fun to start thinking about what to wear instead of just throwing something on. In the meantime I have had success at the Goodwill store - $3 for jeans and capris, not a bad deal!

Lost 132 so far.....
Congratulations! Keep it up! You look super!

need some advice
Tiny, tiny sips. Sip continuously. Get the Protein from the Protein drinks, don't worry about the broth for now if you can't handle it. You need to be hydrated and you need to get the protein. How are you when you sip the protein? Can you keep that down? The gas is def an issue with people, it will subside eventually, try to walk, that tends to help. Good luck! It does get better!

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
I know, I wonder about that myself, how to fit the "sag" in my my pants. I feel like that is going to look so obvious when I get to goal. I wonder something like Spanx will help? Well like you said, better sag than fat!!!

I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
I had to take a flight a couple weeks ago, I didn't bump into everyone going down the aisle, was comfortable in the seat and even had room in the buckle! I can't wait to go to Great Adventure this summer and get on the rollercoasters. I had to get off a ride a few years ago because I couldn't fit quickly enough!

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
I am now down 67 pounds and I am starting to notice the sag EVERYWHERE! My neck, my arms (even the forearm??!!??) My thighs. Good thing I wasn't planning on wearing short-shorts or a bikini anyway. I have a rash in my groin area that will not go away and kind of "hoping" it will qualify me for some type of a lift that insurance will cover, although I am not thrilled with the idea of another surgery.

11 Months Post Op - 66.4 lbs lost

October Sleevers!
Sleeved 10/11/12 down 62 pounds. Got to kick the exercise into gear now! I get about 650 calories a day and at least 60 grams of protein.

My turn, My turn, to say....

Im not loosing any weight after VSG surgery
For the original poster you also started at what I would say is a lower weight (193 I think you said) so I think losing is going to be a bit slower. I think the suggestions given about kicking starting your weight loss again are good: high Protein. chicken, cheese, turkey, etcetera. Some vegetable and then if you are still hungry a little bit of rice etcetera. Also exercise. Always think to eat protein first. Writing down everything you eat (or using an app like MyFitnessPal is a great way to keep yourself accountable and motivated.) That app is super easy to use and has helped me a lot. I am only 4 months out so I can't say that eating a six inch subway sub is too much for you because you are more than a year out from where I am. But if you want to lose I would say take the meat and veggies off the bread and just eat them and throw away the bread or at least try throwing away half of the bread and see if cutting carbohydrates helps. Good luck!

Any Jersey Sleevers?
I also have Aetna but all plans are different. I saw a quack, sorry that's what he was Theodore Batlas (not sure if I spelled his name right). This is going to sound strange, but the whole time I talked to him he was sniffing his fingers LOL! (He needed the shrink, I think). For me it was just a formality as I have OCD and have seen a psychiatrist and counselors many times over the years so I wasn't concerned about the psychological side of things. I honestly don't remember how much it was but I want to say it was $150 maybe? I can't remember but I think he was in Freehold. HTH And again, I can't say enough about Dr. Noyan. He really does care about his patients, I can tell whenever I see him, just by the way he listens and encourages. And my surgery went just great. Good luck!
