  1. Well good for you for sticking up for yourself anyway! Obviously you are just at a level beyond what that class was offering. :rolleyes2: Yay for not lowing your standards!
  2. Lol. thats the problem - they had the pizza and brownies in the little report room - which is kinda in the hallway... har dto explain, but even the pateints were like "Do I smell pizza?" Grr. And I DID take food! I had my herbal raspberry greentea, an apple, and some vegan chili over brown rice. Yeah... all together it would have been under 300 cals for that. Hahaa!!
  3. Well, since I ate 4 brownies and 3 slices of pizza last night... and then went to WalMart after work and had to wrestle myself away from th Snickers... Yeah. I'll do this again!
  4. I still use my bodybugg daily. Hell, I still sleep with the damn thing on! Mostly I just forget about it. I only upload it about every 2-3 days, sometimes I go longer. I HAVE been trying my best to log my foods since New Years... even the THREE slices of pizza I ate last night. (Ugh!) Everytime I think about retiring it I do something dumb, like sit around all day. SO I strap it back on and move. Running: I'm reading this book "The Non-Runners Guide to Marathons for Women"... very interesting. It has a 20 week training schedule for both the full marathon and also 1/2 marathon. I think when it gets a tad bit warmer here, say... March-ish? (It's 10 degrees here right now!) I want to start the 'training' for the 1/2 marathon... it's a run/walk training schedule, so I can ease into it. Hopefully the weight will start to melt off too! I'd totally love to be at 250 or lower by the end of summer (I'm 294 now). Bycyling: Still got my sights set on getting a bike in March. Probably won't be some fancy shmancy bike... I'm a poor girl, but I figure I can get a 'starter' bike and then trade up later on. COME ON WARM WEATHER!
  5. Hey bigbaby! THat looks like a good plan! THat will break ANY plateau!!
  6. Uh guys... I need an intervention!! I have to work the 4p-12a shift at the hospital all week... they are ALWAYS eating! (I worked that shift for 2 years when I first started at the hospital, nearly 5 years ago now and gained like 40 pounds in that time!) So I get there last night and they had flippin PIZZA! I haven't TRIED pizza since surgery... so I was scared. I wanted it for sure, it smelled good! No one at work knows about my lapband, so I figured I'd take ONE slice and just eat it slowly... which I did... and it went down fine. I then ate 2 more slices throughout the night. And I ate 4 brownies. Ugh!!!!!!! So today the scales have me up about 3 pounds. I'm so mad at myself. Why'd I even try the pizza? I had taken a perfectly nutritious meal to work with me for my 'dinner'...
  7. I just bought one last week from Target - ProSpirit brand. It was on sale for $9. I was sooo scared I'd pop it too... but NOPE! It even said on the box "300 pound capacity" well, I'm 294 now, so I figured I'd try it!! I tried one at the gym once, I was still about 380 pounds, and it didn't pop... but you never know! I TOTALLY understand that fear! Go for it! Its cheap and easy and fun! I now do about 100 sit-ups nightly, along with a few other exercises!
  8. WHOS - That article is sooo awesome! ANd ya'll ARE adorable!! I read the whole thing, Its so neat!! Woot woot! It's like you're a celebrity!!
  9. Hey Bridget! Thanks for your 2cents! I'd love to have some of your recipes. My email is szn0512@yahoo.com I've looked at a few of those books you mentioned on Amazon, I'm planning on getting a few in the next few weeks... I"m waiting to win the lottery... or at least to have a few extra bucks after I pay bills... Man I HATE being an adult sometimes. I miss being able to put my wants and desires before my needs. Haha. Thats another rant though...
  10. Glad you had a good time and made it back safely J! Don't worry about candy-assing your way out of the ride - You made the hills UP which had to be the hardest part, thats where I probably would have quit a long time ago! You'll make it the whole way next time!!
  11. There are several good books out there for beginner runners. The one I'm reading now is called "The NONrunners guide to marathons for women" by Dawn Davis. Its funny and so doable.
  12. Oh STef! I'd NEVER adjust my ticker to show a GAIN! Lol. You're so silly! You should just *assume* it's *muscle* and go on. Lol. Well, right now you are EXACTLY halfway to your goal Thats kick ass.

  19. I only use a babyspoon when eating something bad... like ice cream. This way I get bored before I eat the whole thing! Haha!!
  20. YOu can drink beer?!?! I thought we shouldn't drink carbonation? Lol. I gave up diet coke and everything!
  21. OMG!!! I've broken (and replaced) more toilet seats than I care to admit!! Sooooooo embarassing!! Welcome to LBT!!
  22. Oh I love this. If I wasn't BIG and had a cute little body like some of my friends... I would do so much sin! Seriously. I love sex, but am not comfortable enough in my fat skin to be able to really enjoy myself without fearing I will injure my man! I would dress better and FEEL better. I could quit pretending that I don't like amusement parks and roller coasters, when the reality is that I just fear I won't fit in the seats or that I will break the ride! I would go out more. I would date more - now whenever a guy shows interest I feel like its a joke and they are just trying to make fun of or humiliate the 'fat girl'... like when I was back in Jr. High. I would have gone to college right out of high school instead of letting my insecurities rule my life. .. I'll probably think of more later...
  23. Well it's ABOUT DANG TIEM!! AND YOU LOOK SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREAT! You look totally different!
  24. Well, I've ALWAYS had very thick, shiney hair. I think I started to notice hairloss about 3 or 4 months post-op. Well... 7 months post-op now and my hair is pretty thin and dull. I hate it! I wash a handfull of hair out every morning.. an dthen when I comb it I get another handfull. I honestly fear that I will go bald. It has nothing at all to do with protein - cause I eat an average of 100gms a day. I eat totally balanced with fruits, veggies, etc. I get plenty of water and take a multi-vitamin. Your body see weightloss as 'trauma' and you will lose hair as part of the process of your body fighting back. If I could afford a nice wig I would completely cut my hair down short short and just wear a wig daily until I reach goal and my hair grows back.
  25. I hatehatehate that word with a passion! I grew up in a teeny tiny town of 500 people - all white. My only exposure to ANY other culture was through TV. Thank God for the Cosby show! I think if back then, I was exposed to how many African Americans are portrayed on TV today I'd believe differently than I do. I craved culture and difference. It is no surprise to my family that my little sister married a Mexican, and I only date African American men. Most don't agree with our choices, but it is what it is. Most of my brothers (i have 7 of them) are very racist. It makes me sick to my stomach. And my oldest brother is teaching hate to his three children. The oldest is 11 and was shocked to find out that I had 'gays' as friends! SHe said I would burn in Hell for accepting their 'behavior'!!! DO people REALLY feel this way?!?! It's insanity. GOD LOVES US ALL AND GIVES US FREEDOM OF CHOICE. If HE can accept us and love us, why can't we at least be TOLERANT of each other? Just my 2 cents...
