  1. I'm still sad when I only eat 1/4-1/2 cup food. I just miss eating! Especially when dining out with friends/family and seeing them realy enjoy stuff. I don't feel like I enjoy my food anymore, just cause I can't eat as much. My happiness always came with food quantity, Lol, I could care less about quality. I was always happier with 2 cheap tacos than with just 1 good one. Oh well... that is why I got FAT and now I'm getting SKINNY, so I deal with it. YOu'll do great! It all really goes by so quickly. Somedays now I have to stops and really make myself think about what all I have been through this year. I had surgery for the first time ever, I've lost 92 pounds, I"ve learned to like exercise... Hahaha!! Enjoy every moment of your band journey!
  2. OK all. You know I'm shopping for a cheap ass bike. On Craigslist I found a guy who has 3 older model road bikes. One of those is a Trek from 1985 - and he wants $120 for it. I know that Treks are expensive but do you think that is too much to pay for a 20 year old bike?? The other two can be seen here in the ad - BIKES BIKES!!! Road and TRAIL Bikes! I'd really appreciate your opinions!! I just need a quick cheap starter bike!! Oh... and I asked him about 'fit' since I'm 5'10" and he said that he is the same height so that they should work for me. I think I'm going on THursday to check them out... BTW Stef - I like that you changed the thread back to bycyling!
  3. As BigBaby mentioned - I do the chocolate peanut butter protein shakes... Can't go a morning without one... mostly cause ANYTHING more solid than that will NOT go down.
  4. Yes yes, I feel on my hip bones when I lay down at night. I love discovering new things!
  5. I am starting to develope collar bones too!!! I never belioeved I HAD them! Now I touch them when I'm driving, when I'm talking... all the time!
  6. Yeah, I kinda got that much... but I don't really get the point? I guess it's just one of the 'extras' that I may desire in the future - ya know, once I actually get a bike and figure out if it's really true about never forgetting how to ride. Lol.
  7. BG, I love your name on your shoe. Too cool. OK - so ya'll are just way above me... I have NO idea why there are special pedals on a bike, why you need to get 'in' and 'out' of them, why you need special shoes... WTF? WHen Iw as a kid I'd get a bike, I'd get on it and ride it... no special clothing or shoes or anything! The only 'special' things I had on my childhood bikes were those pink and purple and white tassel things from the handlebars and a plastic white wicker basket with plastic daisies on the front. I'm so lost and confused and yeah. I just admitted my ignorence... I'm officially the biggest dork of all!:blushing::drool::blushing::biggrin::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing:
  8. Congrats Insub!!
  9. Ya'll are WAYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too quite here! BG - That bike is so sexy! I'm jealous!!! Mind if I'm nosey and ask how much you dropped on it?
  10. THanks for the info BG! And can I just say SHIT! I seem to have lost my bill for my student loan... I JUST got out of default... I don't want to be late with it now!!! I don't think I paid it already. Someone needs to come help me organize my life! Now I gotta dig out their phone number and call it in... that could take all day... or weekend...
  11. Thats awesome Stef! I LOVE how health conscience people are starting to get! I think it's great that food pplaces are FINALLY getting the picture that they annot continue to 'supersize' us!! If they kill us all off with heart disease and obesity and diabetes, cancer, etc... they will have no one left to buy their product! Big Baby! As for peanut butter - I use an all natural organic one... But I think it has coconut oil in it to create the smoothieness... which I read somehwere is bad for you... So I might start looking for that stuff STef uses.
  12. Yay Big Baby!! lol. I LOVE choc soy milk. The reg and vanilla is good too, but the chocolate rocks! Of course, I never just 'drink' it by itself... I ONLY use it for shakes every morning!
  13. Oh yeah. And I'm not so much 'in' school as I am just working on my RN degree... I'm in a 'self study' program - kinda like I just read/study a massive ass binder book and then take a test. I have 7 of these to do and then I get to do a weekend of Clinicals (that I have to pay an additional $1800 for!) and viola(!) I have my degree... t.h.e.n. I get to pay MORE money and take my state licensure exam.
  14. Yuck meat! Lol. I wasn't convinced to go Veg until I spent a few hours on PETAs website one night. Now i really cannot associated meat with food - I only see the animal. Lol. I will say that when I was at my moms two weeks ago I ate her lasagna and white chicken chili... and the meat still tasted the same as before, I was just sad eating it - and the chicken kinda stuck in my band a bit. I dunno... not sure I could really be Veg now if I didn't have the band. And I'd LOVE to go Vegan... but I can't seem to give up ice cream and chocolate. Hahaha!!!! Ohhhh! And the scale FINALLY dropped under 290 today! I was 289.8!!! I think it was a fluke - so I'll wait and see what tomorrow says before I change the old ticker!
  15. I've looked into it, but can't afford it right now. I'd like to hear some testimonials from other LBTers!
  16. Thats very cool Missy!! I was going to go with him, but he was backed up a few months for people with insurance... or so the rumor went anyway. Lol. It all worked out, I totally love where I go.
  17. I agree with BG that $700 is HUGE money. Like, almost my entire paycheck kind of money. Lol. Since I'm working VERY hard at getting credit cards paid off, I certainly don't want to use them for a bike. If I can't pay cash, I won't pay at all. I sincerely think that I'm going to get a cheap bike ($100 or less) off of Craigslist for the summer and call it good. Next year, when I have my RN and will be making slightly bigger bucks and get moved to Texas then I'll go bike shopping with our friendly Moderator Stef and get a 'real' bike. Sigh... I hate being financially challenged. I struggle enough to pay my water bill and old student loans. Lol.
  18. I have no idea? Lol. Its red and black label. I think its just GNC brand. I cut the label off when I got it so I could put tyhe nutrition info in the body bugg system and wouldn't have to lug the canister in to my room. Lazy me.
  19. I'm 5'10". thats another thing - what SIZE bike do I need. i don't understand the measurments? I don't want to go to the LBS and get fitted and then leave and not buy anything. Lol. Like, thanks but no thanks. Haha. I absolutely cannot afford to spend more than about $200 right now.
  20. I use GNC soy unflavored protein powder. As far as the protein that the pb adds, that depends on the pb that you use, and how much. And honestly, I haven't counted protein or calories in a long time, so I'm not sure.
  21. I make my own. 8 oz choc light soy milk 1 tbsp pb 1 scoop unflavored protein powder 4-6 ice ubes (depending on my mood) Blend until smooth. drink up!
  22. DUMB question - do all road bikes have that dumb 'boy' bar on them? I want a girly looking bike! (mind you, I'm looking for USED bikes cause I'm VERY poor...)
  23. I know! I totally rock. Ha! As far as Texas is concerned, my best friend moved down there about 9 years ago, and I love it there. And YES! I'll be able to ride (cause I'm bike shopping!) and walk year round. All the losers who whine about 30 degree weather can bite my ass! I'll be in HEAVEN! lol. So sick of cold, snow crap!! I heart your randomness. I can do garlic powder, but not salt. I'm not a fan of salt. Weird, I know. It tends to make my tongue hurt. Even better - get some organic minced garlic, stick it in the food processor with some butter (real butter, not that fake shit) and then spread it on some bread. Yum!! You suck! OK... I confess... (anyone wanna kick my ass?) I just ate a big bowl of the Edys girl scout Thin Mint cookie ice cream. Evil evil shit! Thats just nasty man...
  24. choc pb shakes are 'da bomb!
  25. It's really NOT alot of drama. I keep my home life home and my work life at work. Whos just asked about the roomie thing, so I figured I'd explain it. Most of the time everything is fairly cool. I have built up a tolerance for him. I just make him go away. Some of my friends say I'm really mean to him... oh well. We all call him 'Fungus.' As far as 'getting something out of it' - like I said, I'm an enabler... co-dependancy anyone?!?!?!?! But really, I DO get moeny out of it. And he does the dishes, takes out trash, and scoops the litter boxes. LOTS of people ask when I'm going to kick him out. Lol. He's about $150 behind in rent so far... so he might be at the Homeless shelter soon enough. Haha. And Florida sounds GREAT! As for my 'friend' Its the SAME as always. We text a bit throught the weeks and then I see him about every 2 or 3 or 4 weeks. Yeah... BUT it's all good. I think I just want to pacify my time here... I'm moving to Texas next spring, so no need to be in a serious relationship when i know I'll just be leaving anyway. It's all good.
