  1. And if you have my myspace - I added several new pics there too... of my bike and other random things.
  2. Close up of my shifter things. Whole bike, black furry thing in front would be my baby boy Toadie. (yes I have a cat named Toad!) My new TREK Water bottle. Haha. I didn't know what type of water bottle I'd get when he put it in, but I like it!
  3. I'll try to get better pics of my bike tonight - I'm currently in the middle of making a vegetarian (though not vegan!) lasagna for work tomorrow. Lol.
  4. Yeah, I have the old lever type gears... and there is no telling when I've gone far enough on it to have made the change... It's weird.
  5. Yeah yeah... well it wasn't the oil afterall! Lol. Apparently my car is just an attention seeking whore. There was NOTHING wrong with her!! So I paid a $48 tow bill for nothing. Ugh! Got my bike back too. Shifts gears now - but someone needs to help me! Haha. I asked the guy at the LBS to show me how to work them, and he laughed at me like I was making a joke - so I laughed too and figured that I'd just ask ya'll! When going uphill which direction do I point the gear-y thingies? I think uphill = up gear? I tried a few different things and couldn't tell much difference... of course, I'm appaarently a weakling and just can't bike up a hill. Lol.. Anyway, I did take my bike out to a walk/bike trail that has 2 miles of trails, I think I circled enough to be able to say I did a full 2 miles? Thats what I'm calling it anyway. My legs are tired as hell, and my ass hurts. I already have low back issues, so I can deal with that pain. I'm sooooo going to take some ibuprofen and lay in bed all evening. I will say though, that tonight was MUCH more successful than Tuesday evening!!! By about 100%! I didn't even come CLOSE to wrecking or falling or anything, and I took some curves and such. I think I'm going to stick to this trail until I build up strength and don't feel DRAINED after it. Lol. I can't wait to be expert riders like ya;ll!! I'm so excited!!! And I'm GOING to buy a gel seat - SOOOON!
  6. Yes, yes I do. I called the shop and told them to check the oil first thing... and to change it, even if that isn't the problem. Lol. I'm a horrible car owner. I feel like the gas light comes on when I need gas, why doesn't the oil light come on when I need oil? Like, seriously, last year when my did this because I had no oil in it the light NEVER came on!! Isn't that it's JOB?!?!
  7. I do not discuss my goal weight or even tell anyone how much I've lost. When ppl ask how much I've lost I tell them "Not enough" and when ppl ask whatI want to get to I just say "when I'm happy." No one needs to know my numbers. It's a personal decision for everyone. PLUS I find that ppl who've known you as fat for a long time, or ppl who've ONLY known you as fat are less accepting of your knew body and lifestyle because they are afraid that you'll change. I am 5'10" as well, and I think I have my goal set at 150 on my ticker, so I think you are right on Stef!
  8. Thanks HP! I forgot about this - I did it once before on accident. Lol. This is the best pic I have of my bike now, it was taken as my dad was putting the seat back on it last Saturday, and that is one of my nieces in the background. It was taken on my phone camera, so its crappy quality. Maybe once I get t back tonight with new water bottle and holder and gears that work I'll take REAL pics. Lol. I kept having dreams last night that the guy at the LBS put mountain bike tires on my bike insisting that I needed wider tires cause I was a larger person. Haha. Self conscious much?!? I think that comes into play becuase everyone I work with and some friends seem to think that the wider knobby tires are more stable... wtf. Stef (or TX, whatever!) - I DO think I know what is wrong with my car. Lol. If ya'll promise NOT to yell at me I'll tell ya..:confused2::teeth_smile: I never change my oil... and I remember that this time last year my car did this SAME thing and my roomie was like "check your oil" And I was like "whatev... oil has nothing to do with it..." And sure enough I had like NO oil in the car. As soon as we put some in it then it drove FINE! I got the oil changed a week later - that was on March 23 last year. Haha.... and that was the last oil change I had done. Of course, the car was already towed before I thought of this, so I don't even have my key to try to fix it. I'm just going to call the shop bright and early and tell them to start there and not charge me for a diagnostic exam. Lol. We'll see. Damn... $45 to get towed... maybe someday I'll learn to check/change oil?!?! OK all... a co-worker is coming to pick me up for work today... so I better get my ass in gear.
  9. C - my best friend in Houston is going through her lap Band process right now... she just set up her psych and nut appts... still has to do a 3 month diet, etc... anyway... she is having LOTS of trouble with people at her work and so called 'friends' and her mom telling her all about what she 'should' do, etc. I told her that if she had any questions to just ask me (Lol, cause I know it all!) or to come HERE to LBT!! People have too many opinions, and feel the need to interject them upon you at all times. Even the docs and such. Thank goodness my doc ONLY does lap band!!
  10. HP - you look great!! And so does your bike. I keep meaning to post pics of my bike, but I only klnow how to do it through photobcket, which STILL isn't uploading my pics for me... Yeah J, I left the house with 2 modes of transport and came home by foot... my neighbors were confused as hell when I walked up to the apt. Haha.
  11. Daddy - Yeah.... he is gimpy (long story, but basically think of the braces that Forrest Gump had to wear on his legs - thats what my roomie gots) and he can't drive. Lol BG - TRUE! I can't wait to get the bike back tomorrow, and have a Water bottle on it. Lol. I'm going to have the guy show me EXACTLY how to make the gears work too. Lol. I admit - the bike shop smelled great (newness, rubber... Lol) and there were tons of super hot bikes. It was like going into an expensive cnady store. Damnit! As for being cold - I find myself cold alot more often now. People at work insist I just need to eat a steak. Lol. WHat is it with people being so mad when you decide to go vegetarian!? BG, do you have backlash from the meat-eaters in your life? Haha. Anyway, yeah, they think I'm anemic now. Whatever. I'm just COLD cause I am missing 92 pounds of FAT insulation that I used to have!
  12. Dropped my bike off at the LBS. He said it would be about $18 to fix the gears and I asked him to add in a water bottle holder and water bottle, which will be another $15. Lol. Sure, I could do this myself for cheaper, but nah. I'm lazy. Once I dropped the bike off I planned to drive out to my trail and walk at least 2 miles... but my damn car wouldn't start. After I cussed alot I called a tow truck ($45) and they said it was going to be a 2 hour wait. I just left the key in the car and walked home. I told the tow guy about that and he agreed it was fine. I also called the car shop and told them they'd have a drop off tonight and gave them basic info (my name, #, and what the car was doing) and they will call me in the morning. I walked home - 1/2 mile. Lol. Thank goodness I didn't go to the other LBS I was thinking about - it is about 10-15 miles away! I'd have so called someone to come get me! Haha! That is how my life goes... So, I drove a 1/2 mile and had a car and a bike... and i had to walk home because both are going to be fixed. Lol. Ugh.
  13. Just called the LBS about 1/2 mile down the street from my house... the guy seemed nice and said he'd be happy to look at my gear shifters and such. Woot
  14. Aww, thanks J!! That means alot! I feel like a big ole loser! haha. There is a 2 mile wal/bike trail near my house that is pretty dang level... I might try to take my bike there, I think as long as I don't have to go up any hills I'll be OK. As the gears at stuck right now, if I'm going downhill my pedalling doesn't make a difference, I just coast, and if I'm going uphill then I can't pedal at ALL! Calling the LBS today to see if they can look at it for me. My ass hurts still. and so do my thighs. I'm sitting here at work today with a sore ass thinking "what was I thinking?!?!!" and then I hear the songs 'Bicycle' by Queen - and I know I can do it. Bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride my bike I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like You say black I say white You say bark I say bite You say shark I say hey man Jaws was never my scene And I don't like Star Wars You say Rolls I say Royce You say God give me a choice You say Lord I say Christ I don't believe in Peter Pan Frankenstein or Superman All I wanna do is Bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride my bike I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride my Bicycle races are coming your way So forget all your duties oh yeah Fat bottomed girls they'll be riding today So look out for those beauties oh yeah On your marks get set go Bicycle race bicycle race bicycle race Bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle bicycle Bicycle bicycle bicycle Bicycle race You say coke I say caine You say John I say Wayne Hot dog I say cool it man I don't wanna be the President of America You say smile I say cheese Cartier I say please Income tax I say Jesus I don't wanna be a candidate for Vietnam or Watergate Cause all I wanna do is Bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride my bike I want to ride my bicycle I want to ride it where I like
  15. Just relax. I still ate all sorts of nasty bad for you stuff after my surgery. Weightloss doesn't 'really' occur until after you have good restriction, which for ME was after my 3rd fill.
  16. As a nurse, I can tell you that I really don't like the know-it-all-students. Haha. They have always annoyed me, even when I was in schooL! Don't listen to you, because as everyone else has said, she is ignorant on Lap Band and was speaking from her own personal feelings, not any rational. When I got my surgery I didn't tell ANY co-workers or family at all.. and very few friends. ANd really, I only told people that would be supportive - and even now, 9 months later, only a very few friends know about my band.
  17. BTW - do any of you watch the Biggest Loser?? Haha. I HEART Jillian! She cusses like a fucking sailor!!
  18. I think I want to take my bike to a shop and have the gears checked, cause like I said, when i change them they don't do anything - the chain just sounds and feels like it is loose or skipping or something. A hazzard of buying an old used bike I guess. The ladies I work with, and my friend Brian all want to go biking, but they want to do trails that would require more like a mountain bike, so I plan on getting one soonish... probably just a cheapie from walmart... hopefully, even though it';s cheap, it will work easily and I will get over my frustrations and start building the leg strength I need. I refuse to be defeated by a bycyle! If I could do it whenI was 5 I can do it now!!
  19. THanks BG. It's just weird... I mean, riding a bike was so easy when I was 5. haha. Why should it be so much HARDER now?!?! Wah!! OK, done with my pity party... I took some Ibuprofen for my sore ass and back and will try again tomorrow. Damnit. I'm gonna get back on that horse! And hey, I may have slammed into a concrete wall today (embarrassing!) but at least I didn't fall off the bike!
  20. Haha... apparently this is all I know about bikes...
  21. Well BG - I'm in bycyle hell! Wah!!! OK all, I need encouragement... I was soooo excited all day long to get home from work and ride my bike in the 65F weather... I was singing songs about it and annoying my co-workers. Actually a few of them were excited too and we've kinda discussed doing a trail together one evening soon... So - I get home and change my clothes and load up my bike. I drive out to the 5 mile stretch of road where I usually walk. I was all hyped up and put on my little gloves and my helmet... and I set off. Itw as slow going, but once I got really going I started to worry cause it felt like I was going really fast. I stayed on the sidewalk, cause my balance still isn't real good and I weave in and out a bit and didn't want to panic drivers on the road, nor did I want to fall over and get ran over. Um... So I went a total of 1.5 miles... .5 of that was downhill, .5 of it was level, and .5 of it I walked. I absolutely cannot bike up even the slightest kint of a hill! I know I should change gears or something, but I tried and it didn't do anything but sound and feel like the chain was loose? I've always had bikes with just one egar, so I'm clueless about this stuff!!! HELP ME! It was definitly a good workout and I loved the parts where I was actually on the bike. My ass hurts like hell and I am going to get a gel seat SOON. I dont want to feel discouraged, but I do. The whole way home I wanted ice cream (comfort food) thank goodness I'm too vain to go to the store all red faced and sweaty, Lol.
  22. They make sublingual B12 tablets that dissolve under your tongue. Cherry flavor. I used to take them, but I haven't in a while. I might start taking them again though, since I don't eat meat anymore... and B12 is the only vitamin/nutrient that you cannot get through any other food source other than meat.
  23. It's supposed to be 64F today and 72F tomorrow. I'm so excited! As soon as I get home from work I'm taking my bike out for a public spin... Please pray I don't crash in front of anyone! PS. I was GOING to post pics last night of the bike, but damn photobucket wasn't working for me. I'll try again later tonight.
  24. Hey Janine!! Glad you made it past your plateau!!
  25. I heart eBay... I haven't bid on any of it, I just thought it was cool. So, I feel all decked out now. I got me a helmet today. Found one at Sears for $4.99 +tax. It's a juvinile helmet, but it fits me fine, so I figured it would work. Lol. If it's a problem later then I'm only out 5 bucks... I need to upload pix of my bike, so you can all see her hotness. BTW, Daddy, there is a town here in Missouri called Licking. It's awesome. There is a prison tehre. ha.
