BrickHouse got a reaction from rensterness in Albany, New York....?
I am a month out. I've lost just over 30 lbs. and I do get hungry! I mean like twisting, churning, growling hungry! But a very small amount of food (usually 1/2 cup or less) fills me up. I'm still not eating tougher meats or any raw fruits or vegetables, but I'm having lots of chili, chicken, fish, and eggs. Oh, and Greek yogurt. That's my go-to food.< /p>
Rensterness, how was your Party Lite turn out? I'm an Avon rep myself. If anyone wants a brochure or a link to my 24/7 site, please inbox me. Orders over $30 ship to your door for free all over the country. Sometimes there is free shipping for $10 orders. On the other hand, if anyone wants to sell Avon, it's still only a $10 investment and you can make up to 50% commission. That means you also get your own purchases for up to 50% off. And their free training is second to none! Inbox me for more info.
Avon has some really good skin firming lotion by Skin So Soft that I've been using. They also just came out with a new line of smoothing undergarments (think Spanx) that are very reasonably priced and a necessity for those of us with a little loose skin.

BrickHouse got a reaction from AceyKay in Dr Mehul Trivedi Albany NY
I am ten days post RNY. I had my one week follow up Thursday and was already down 17 pounds! My glucose and blood pressure are within normal ranges, so no more diabetes or bp meds. I am just starting my Stage 2 diet. One incision is very sore. Tyler, Dr. T.'s PA, told me that's the one that actually penetrates all three layers of abdominal muscle, so they suture it. Sometimes it pulls and there may be some nerve pain for a little while. But that is the only pain I have. Foods and liquids have been great. Nothing disagrees with me. I have to remember to eat a little more slowly since I did get a little woozy yesterday after a meal. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy it took as long as it did for me to finally have my surgery. After my breast cancer and chemo, I was weak and tired. This is not an easy surgery and I'm glad I was able to regain some strength before putting myself on the operating table one more time. I am napping a lot and my circadian rhythm has flown out the window (hence a 3:30 am post). But I am thrilled to be on the right track where my health is concerned. Looking forward to tomorrow is a nice feeling.

I'm a total penguin nerd lol. Things are going to work out perfecto for you, think positive!! The support groups are amazing and soooo beneficial! I would def meet up with you for one if you would like. I'm always upto meeting new people that are on this journey and it would be great. I'm still waiting to meet Auntie Vick. In five weeks I've lost 50 pounds, but gotta remember men lose quicker then women. Damn us men, I know lol. Keep up the positive attitude!!!

BrickHouse, Rensselaer is just up 797; used to work near there-I am off exit 22 on 87, Selkirk. I doubt that I shall have surgery before December 11th, but please stay in touch. I have a lot of detractors, but am happy for this place and nearby folks and encouragement.

Holly Clare, I feel the same way. I will be 50 two weeks after my surgery and I feel like I get to write my next chapter. I deserve to enjoy the second half of my life. I have my final cardiology clearance tomorrow. My insurance requires it within 30 days of my surgery (Dec. 11). I haven't been given an actual number of pounds to lose since I'm diabetic and have had a terrible time losing, but I will be rearranging my diet drastically. Low in carbs, higher in Protein, and clean. Onward and downward!

Auntie Vick & Brickhouse,
I'm LOSING it! Tomorrow is the official day and my nerves are shot. No amount of Xanex seems to be able to settle the nerves. I'm VERY excited, yet VERY, VERY nervous. It's beyond real now. Tomorrow I am to arrive at Albany Medical Center at 5:45am. I'm seriously beyond anxious, excited and now very nervous. I'm so looking forward to a new amazing future, but the whole surgery part is finally hitting me. My program only requires a 24 hour clear, sugar free liquid diet, which I have now officially started. Tomorrow my friend will be coming over and she will be sleeping over and we will do final pictures and official inches of the soon to be old me. I look forward to this new life more then words can describe, but nerves are shot. Will keep my two local buddies posted. Ugh, the nerves :-(.

BrickHouse got a reaction from SheWins1 in arc vs eliptical
I am a huge fan of the Arc! A big benefit is that it protects your knee by never placing your knee farther forward than your toe, You can burn a TON of calories without even realizing it. And it's fully adjustable from the easiest setting with no resistance and no incline, to the hardest where your quads are on fire! You can also adjust it to work the backs of your legs and glutes by upping the resistance and leaving the incline at zero, where you push backwards on the pedals, Start by holding on (but not slumping) and work up to not holding on. Then try arc-ing with your eyes closed. It forces you to concentrate on form and your center of gravity. This will engage your core muscles, too! I used to be a gym rat several years ago and the Arc was my absolute favorite piece of equipment. You get cardio and strength from one machine! Good luck!
