Just quickly wanted to share my first NSV! I'm currently on a plane waiting to take off and.....I didn't need a seatbelt extender! I know many of you will agree when I say what a relief it is not to have to go through the ordeal of asking for one discreetly and hoping no one notices. :-)

Hi I was sleeved on 16th may so almost a week now! I was 266lbs before my 1 week pre op diet and I'm now down to 233lbs ( omg not been this weight for many years lol) it has been really difficult especially the pain but today I really think I've turned the corner! I am up and about doing the school run and have visited friends, I had my very first hunger pain today but was so shocked by just a few sips of milk it was ALL gone lol I was very unhappy before because of the pain thinking what the hell have I done? But now I'm happy and even though I'm still very sore and tender I AM HAPPY!!!!! So to all the pre sleevers and the newly done sleevers just keep ur chin up and it will be the best thing you have ever done xxx much love to you all xxxx

    What's wrong with you???
    Nothing!
You are going through all of the emotions that most of us went through when this became "real"
And for most of us it became real when we got that date to anticipate, obsess and worry about.
Now is the time to take a few deep cleansing breaths... You've worked hard to get this far, but the reality is that most of the hard work is still to come, I know that can be daunting but going into it knowing there are going to be challenges will help you when they come.
I think what you are feeling is good, it's part of the process of really preparing for the major life change you are about to make.
In others words, I would worry if you weren't feeling all these things

Everyone hits stalls. If you're eating right a pound or two of gain could just be Water weight. The scale will move again. Stalls are a b_tch and we all go through them. Hope yours break soon.

Sorry to hear this....did you talk to your HR department and your insurance company to confirm. Each insurance plan is different and I'm not sure who the "few people" you are talking to....hope you are covered. good luck!

    Breathe
I know it sounds simple but deep cleansing breaths do wonders when your stressed or nervous... As hard as it seems try to get a good nights sleep, you will have a long day tomorrow.
As far as surgery the most important thing after is to walk as much as you can in the hospital. Walking really helps relieve the pain from the "gasses" pumped into you from surgery.
    Good luck and remember, breathe
    Oh and welcome Helen

Saw the doctor for my 3 month check-up. I have lost 30% of my excess weight and my BMI is down from 46 to 39. I am no longer morbidly obese. My husband thinks I am a little goofy for celebrating such a thing. I told him I now aspire to be merely overweight!

Hey, you're going to Hawaii! I wouldn't mind living in the plane's bathroom if it gets me to Hawaii. Maybe you can pack some lunch meat or some Jerky for the Protein. If I was going to Hawaii, I'd take the easy way and pack Protein Bars Enjoy your trip!

Got a call this morning from my surgeon's nurse asking what type of surgery I wanted. After almost a year of classes, I'm sure it was in my chart somewhere but anyway, she submitted my paperwork to my insurance company.
At 4:50pm, I checked my insurance account and my approval was sitting there all pretty and shiny like a brand new baby...better yet, a brand new BELLY!
    I'M FRIGGIN APPROVED!
Of course, I was impatient and tried to reach the surgeon's nurse to schedule LOL.
Guess I'll wait for the call on Monday.

I find that I can eat anything in TINY bites. I had half a slice of ice cream cake when my daughter turned 18. I found that cake and ice cream go down so easily that I have to make a conscious decision to only have a little. I do go out to restaurants. Sometimes I just order an appetizer for my meal and still have leftovers. As for alcohol, I have no clue since I'm not a drinker. I never really acquired a taste for alcohol. Just remember, everything in moderation.

Congratulations, those are great NSV! I noticed yesterday I can run up and down the steps to the basement with no problems, and it made me realize the same thing. It's wonderful to be able to move so much easier, and it is life changing and liberating!
