  1. Yep, I think you made the right decision Crystal. I researched when I first started the program and had decided the sleeve was best for me. Then I started doubting myself and thought maybe the roux en y bypass was the way to go, but "malabsorption" convinced me that the sleeve was the way to go. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Feb 21!
  2. Hey it's still liquid so I would think it's all right.
  3. Hey, did Meredith and Derek ever really get married? Wasn't it just a Post-it note? Alex is my favorite character. He hides his sensitive, caring side, but it comes out when called for. Yang is also great.
  4. My husband is overweight, have sleep apnea, diabetes, and high cholesterol. He's taking his meds but not using the CPAP machine. I so much want to convince him to do the surgery also so that hopefully we can both get healthy and enjoy life together especially since we will be empty nesters soon. Both of my great kids will be in college then. Am I the only one that wants their spouse/significant other to take this journey also?
  5. Does this mean I can be b*tch because of the surgery.....love having an excuse for being a b*tch
  6. Ok...we can all do this. We all want to be healthier....well at least my mind is being good right now....after a meal of corned beef and cabbage....I know, I know, corned beef isn't the leanest meat, but I did leave off the potatoes that I usually cook.
  7. You're a good role model Kirk! And I guess 16k is a big encentive.
  8. Now I'm torn between waiting a day and cheating the first day. Kirk, you went thru Christmas AND New Years. I like your determination Kirk! I hope to build up to that much! My life shouldn't revolve around food.
  9. Hi sleeve buddy! I have Kaiser insurance and my surgery date is the 21st!
  10. I just realized that I'm suppose to start the my pre-op liquid diet on Feb 14th. It's Valentine's Day, but more importantly it's my 22nd wedding anniversary! You think I can have my last hurrah and go to my favorite restaurant before starting the liquid diet on the 15th?
  11. I am having surgery on the 21st and I was told to walk 10-15 minutes a couple of times a day for the first 2 weeks before increasing it. it's suppose to help prevent blood clots. So I say bundle up and go to the mall and walk.
  12. I've heard of a 30 30 rule. That's where you don't drink any fluids 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after a meal.
  13. Maybe you can call your surgeon about it because that messes up their schedule also. Your doctor may be able to make sure your paper work is in place for Tuesday. Hope it all works out for you. Maybe you shouldn't mess up any pre-op diet since there still a chance you could have the surgery.
  14. Can I borrow your husband when I have my surgery on Feb 21? I can give you all my info for the bracelet?
  15. I just met with the dietician today. She said that clear liquids was only for the day after surgery then I progress to full liquids for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of puree food, then solids. I won't need to start my vitamins again until the puree stage. She said many people have problems with vitamins during the liquid stage, so they like to start the vitamins at the puree stage. How's your diet plan?
  16. How much of a difference is a 32 bougie than a 38? 38 is what my doctor uses.
  17. Congrats to Nycole and Busy! Good luck on getting our date SueLee and Viana. I got my date last week for a Feb 21 surgery date. I can't wait til we're all on the loser's bench
  18. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery! Hope you get a chance to enjoy a little of Mexico while you're there.
  19. Fantastic! That's great news! I bet it's nice to be free of meds.
