  1. Best of luck tomorrow, prayers coming your way.
  2. Congratulations!! Fellow November sleever! I'm on the 6th. Good luck!!
  3. Hey, we all have a story to tell. I'm glad you shared yours. There may be someone reading that can absolutely relate to what your saying and may have experienced the same issues. Thanks!
  4. I find the cans to be very sweet also. I did find that the powered version of the Frosty Chocolate Pure Protein was much less sweet.
  5. WOW, What a great sight that must be for you!! Thanks for sharing, your posts help so many of us still Pre-Op!
  6. 8% of your body weight in a month and a half doesn't sound like a failure to me. Hang in and stay the course. Vent when you need and try not to compare your loss to others. Good luck!!
  7. Best of luck to you for a perfect sleeve and smooth recovery!
  8. I also tried the unjury chicken soup. It was very good. I tried just a few packets first, but ended up buying a larger jug.
  9. My nutritionist also suggested a meatball for the mushy stage. mash it up real good with a little sauce. You can enjoy like everyone else, just eat really slow. Good luck!
  10. Check to see what your Maximum out of pocket expenses are for the year. In my case, my insurance also pays 80%, but with my deductible and other expenses, I have already met my maximum, so I won't have to pay any more myself.
  11. Great news, Congratulations!!
  12. Ohhhh the best feeling!! Congratulations!
  13. I'm a week ahead of you but the holidays were definitely thought of. Like you, I said no more excuses. I am not cooking that day, but plan on bringing some stock with me and making some cream of Turkey soup at my sisters- I'll participate at dinner and get my protein in. I don't want to "miss" out, so I'm planning ahead. One of the greatest gadgets I have is an immersion blender, stick it in a tall glass or use a pot, it is small enough not to be a big deal to bring.
  14. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!! Good luck!
  15. Awesome Ashley!! Continued success!
  16. Hi Maribel! You came to the right place for support. Even though I am blessed with a great group of people around me, there is nothing quite like a group of people who know exactly what you are going through. Here is a link to the "what you need for surgery" post. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/ I have found this site to be a god-send and know as my surgery gets closer, I will look to it more and more. Good luck!!
  17. NICE!! I use the Wii Zumba for the same thing. Good Luck!!
  18. That is awesome! Congratulations!!
  19. HI there! Congrats on setting your date! I wasn't give a specific number to lose, but wanted to drop as much as possible before my surgery on Nov. 6. I was doing weight watchers and doing good... for Weight Watchers, One or two pounds a week, which under normal circumstances would be fine. I altered my diet to more of a "sleeve" mentality. Protein, first and foremost, then veggies and I tried to really limit all carbs. I loaded up on protein shakes , sugar free pudding, cheese sticks and bottled water to stay on track and have lost more than 30lbs in two months. I think for me, the key is cutting the carbs. I found I like the Pure Protein brand of shake/powder. The pre-made shakes contain up to 35gm protein, only 4 grams of Carbs and very low fat.. Starting the day with protein has helped curb my appetite. Good luck!!
  20. AWESOME!! Congratulations!!!
  21. Prayers and good wishes coming your way!! Good luck!!
