    Beer

I asked my dr. the same question and he told me beer has no nutritional value so if you're going to have one at least make for something rewarding. As in, as he told me, you lose 10lbs by our next visit and you may have one...just one, to reward yourself. He also suggested (strongly I might add) that the beer be non-alcholic - if at least make it lite. So I would say if you are gonna drink a beer, make it count...as a reward. I am half to that 10lb reward he talked about...I see him on the 27th of Aug. Heineken here I come! I hope this helps with your decision. BTW, my dr also told me not to make it a habit. lol He knows I love my Heineken

  4. The BIGGEST accomplishment I will have in the not-so-distance-future is... I want to sit down and CROSS MY LEGS at the knee! I have dreamed of that for years. I will do it by year's end if not before. WHO'S WITH ME?!

    New To This Site......

hi Christi. we all at some point new this was the last or only option left for us (at least for me it was). when i made the decision to get sleeved, i didn't want to hear negative chitter chatter so i told only a hand full of people what was going on and why. a decision i do not regret. it was hard, scary, and nerve racking but i wanted it, i needed it and i knew this was for me. thats not to say it was an easy decision...it was not. i took a year to make this move, and i have not looked back. i have friends who have had gastric bypass and one of my first thoughts was why would i want to leave all that stomach inside after the pouch is made. answer: i did not. when i learned of the sleeve i knew it was the right choice for me. now my friends supports me but none of them quite understand because the sleeve is relatively new - especially considering when they all had their surgeries. you are in the right place, i found this site just a short while and i am glad i did and you will be too. hang in there, be strong, you can do it. welcome aboard

    New To This Site......

Hello & welcome. I am relatively new here as well and I am so glad I found this site. Like you, I do not know any1 who's had the sleeve but know several who had by-pass surgery. I started my journey back in Feb. and was sleeved on June 26. Hope all goes well for you on your journey and again, welcome .
  13. Does any1 here eat Morningstar Farms veggie products? I have had the grillers, veggie sausage & mushroom lovers veggie burgers. I like them. Plus a great source of protein w/o a lot of fat, sugar, carbs. Just thought I'd put that out there. ;)

    The Scale Ugh!

taylor - it just takes time, you'll do it. i thought i would have lost more than i have but when i look at where i was just 2 mos. ago, i'm happy -- i've lost 37lbs since havin surgery june 26. i've tried to lose that the last 2yrs. and to no avail. so be patient, do what your drs say and the weight will come off.
  16. Hi. Can some1 tell me how do I upload photos if you can not click on the upload button? It's becoming a bit frustrating. Thanks

  17. i dont know if it had anything to do with it, i have/had sleep apnea and after surgery i still fall asleep rather quickly but i don't have nite sweats like i use to. nor do i get every darn hour to go pee. i can't sleep on my left side (favorite one too). i wake-up feeling more relaxed and alert than i ever did pre surgery.

    Will This Go Away ?

I agree with NDN_RN, GO TO YOUR DOCTOR, Please. I had the same thing happen to me just days after surgery. When I went to my dr's and test were run I was admitted for 3 days. My doc took no chances. And I was given nausea medication while in the hospital. Go see what your doctor says.

In addition to Craiglist, you could also try Ebay or Amazon. But I vote for the organization that helps women dress for interviews for employment and yes you write it off on your taxes.

    Post Op And Headaches

I guess I'm kinda lucky, I do not drink crystal light. I found that sugar-free generic brands are just as tasty if not better tasting. Here lately I hav been making unsweetened iced-t and putting in a packet (or 2) of splenda as I drink it. It taste good, decaf, and it last...I make it by the gallon. I have had sugar-free drinks such as fruit punch, grape, peach iced-t and they all taste great - I don't miss crystal light at all.
  23. My doc cleared me for exercise but because I am still having back troubles, he said start slow and work your way up. I am getting a resistance band (it worked for me in the past) and will start with that for now. I don't have a gym membership at the moment but maybe later on down the line. I do walk, about 30 - 40 min each day (part of it is my job) and that helps. Since the weather is so darn hot in DC I've taken to walking in the building where I work. Not only does my backgive me fits but my knees as well - arthuritis does not care who it hits or hurts - but I will push on.

    Walking...in A Group

I was wondering if there are any June sleevers in the Washington DC area that might be interested in forming a walking group? I like walking but just do not feel comfortable walking alone. My dr has cleared me to exercise but stll taking it gradually. Thanks
