17 Days Post Op How Much Did Everyone Eat
Chelle68 replied to ljperez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like refried beans with some greek yogurt, split pea soup and I took fresh spinach and cooked it with onion, garlic and chicken broth drained it and put in food processor with some ricotta cheese and a few eggs and salt and pepper to taste. Bake in a pan sprayed with pam and added mozzarella cheese on top last 15 min. Yum. I then let it set and cut into small portions that fit in those little snack baggies and freeze. You can do the same with cauliflower and put spaghetti or marinara sauce over it. Check out eggface.com. There are lots of recipes. Hope that helps. -
Overwhelmed!
Chelle68 replied to Changing B4YourEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I may need to be paying more attention but the only things I really keep a tally on are my water and protein intake. I keep my vitamins on my dresser and take my iron when I first wake and the rest when I leave for work about 2 hours later. I am almost 4 weeks out. I think I may need to start counting calories. I was keeping in my head but maybe logging on my ipad would be better. Thanks all for the ideas. Just remove the stress. Have a great day and smile you are doing great. -
I am having the itching problem as well. I am almost a month out and it is getting better there but not completely gone. Not sure what this is about but I was on antibiotics right after surgery for pneumonia and it did not change.

But this way does feel so much better. I think we make some people feel guilty because we eat so little and they know they are eating much bigger portions. They know if they have a problem just like we did.

Oh ya check out eggface.com for recipes snd ideas.

I had mine done 8/23 and you do miss chewing when you know you can't but now that I can have the mushies i find myself choosing the shakes and soups more. I do still crave pickles but that has always been a love of mine. It just is easier to get my protein in the shakes and now that i can add fruit they are yummy. And i never have been a sweets eater. So it does get easier i promise. I no longer really have cravings... except pickles. Lol

How Did You Feel The Day Of Surgery?
Chelle68 replied to fallingwhisper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had bad gas pain when i woke up. I even wondered what the hell i did to myself but in an hour or so it got better. I just took my pain med every 4 hours. It also helped me sleep. Get up and walk as soon as you can it helps alot. I felt almost back to normal by day 10. It is all worth it. I am down a total of 30 lbs and lovin my sleeve. -

When Will I Stop Regretting Having This Done?
Chelle68 replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well now you know why you are so sick. I guess if I was in your shoes I would ask if there is any other alternatives. If not then the bypass is not the route you wanted but I have talked to several people that have had one and love it. You can't undo your sleeve and if this will eliminate your feeling lousy might be worth consideration. You can't go on like you are. I would get all my info and second opinions but in the end you can't go on being sick forever. Get the worst case scenarios and then work towards quality of life. Just my 2¢. -
Wow you are over 2 mo out and still sick. My surgeon did tell me that some people are nauseous for months but he said it does pass. Good luck to u I hope things get better soon.

Not sure if that is for me but I did try only small amounts of new textures and foods at a time. If any discomfort or too many gut sounds I backed off for a day or so but i feel great and down 12 lbs this week and 30 total starting when I began preop diet. Today I put on a pair of shorts I couldn't come close to buttoning and I have wiggle room!!!! Yay!!! I go back to work in a week and can't wait for everyone to see my results. I manage a great team at work and they are all excited for me. Some are interested in getting surgery but scared. I think I will have an encouraging story.

How Would You Respond?

I agree. Some people can tolerate more than others. I am convinced I have a sleeve of steel. Nothing upsets it and I am on day 16 and have had mushy food and small bites of meat. All is good. I feel great and losing weight.

Difficulty Taking Tablets Post-Op
Chelle68 replied to Izuri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started taking my meds the day after surgery. I also developed pneumonia and gout so I have been on meds for that, as well. No problems so far and I am 16 days out. Pneumonia gone and gout just about completely gone. After reading posts on here I am guessing I got the sleeve of steel version. Nothing has made me sick or nauseous. But I do love the gummy vitamins ; ) -

Cold All The Time?
Chelle68 replied to mkbennett00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a couple of friends that are between 9 and 11 months out and they both told me that they stay cold. I have always kept my air at home between 76-78. 78 during the day and 76-77 when getting dressed and putting on make up. I am always warmer then...maybe from drying my hair but now I find 78 kinda cool and comfortable when getting done up for the day. Saves my elec bill and I hate being sweaty. Win win
