Any September People
The office called and confirmed my surgery for tomorrow morning at 7:30, which means I have to be at the hospital by 5:30 am. I hope I can get some sleep tonight. Hopefully this means that the doctor got out of jury duty!

Dancing Queen Scares The Neighbors
Great visuals with that blog! LOL. I usually dance around in the kitchen or laundry room - how boring is that!

My doc wants everyone to quit smoking before surgery. I don't smoke so I'm not sure if they test people to make sure they have complied or not.

What Did You Name Your Sleeve?
i like Skinny Minney. I've never been called skinny in my entire life, but it's possible with the changes that getting sleeved will bring.

Any September People
Thanks newgrandmother, I've been drinking protein shakes, one for breakfast and one for lunch. A small dinner (6 oz of lean meat and veggies) no carbs - Very Hard cause I love them. And exercising, I try to walk 2 miles a day or work out in a pool. Most days, I'm just hungry all the time. I drink water when it gets too bad or have a cup of boullion (feels like I'm getting something more substantial). I'm excited about the weight loss already but I know that if I don't get this operation I'll eventually gain it all back again.

Any September People
Sept 5th for me. I'm very excited and slightly nervous. I've had my pre-admission testing and everything is a go for next Wed. I had the final visit with my surgeon today and he said he's been called for jury duty and there is a slight chance he won't be able to do my surgery on the 5th. I'm praying that he'll be able to, this is my 4th week of pre-op diet and I feel like I'm always starving.

Surgery Date?
I'm getting sleeved Sept 5th, sometimes I can't believe it's really going to happen. Sometimes I just get nervous. I started looking at clothes in a store and had to walk away, I have no idea what size I'll end up being but it won't be the one I am right now!

Dont Wanna Rush
I just had my cardio test on Monday and my surgery is next Tues. Sometimes they wait until they find out from the insurance company what their requirements are and have the testing done last.

The Weirdest Dream!
I like the postive outlook and the way you're planning ahead. That's fantastic.

My Journey So Far
I've been following my pre-op diet for 3 weeks, tomorrow starts week 4. I don't think it is normally meant to go for this long but I was worried about not losing enough weight before the surgery so I started early. I've been using whey protein shakes and either Almond Milk or lactose free milk. I see the weight loss but it's hard to believe that it will be permanent. My family has been very supportive, my husband drinks a shake for breakfast now too and he's lost 8 lbs. I'm excited and nervous about the surgery on Sept 5th. Sometimes I tell myself that it's crazy and I'm over-reacting. I should be able to lose the weight by myself. But I've been fat for 95% of my adult life and I've tried to change without success. The final straw was having my diabetes (Adult onset for the past 18 yrs) get out of control last spring. That really scared me. I've got to do this and hope that my diabetes responds positively. Now it's just continue with the shakes and exercise and count down until Sept 5th!

Anybody Else?
Congratulations on not giving in to the One Ring! That takes tremendous will power. Crackers are my downfall too. I'm allowed to have bouillion as a "clear" liquid but crackers sure would make it better. Carbs are the hardest to give up. You've done great!

Any September 5Th Sleevers Out There....................
I'm a Sept 5th Sleever. Where are you having your surgery done? I've been working on the pre-op diet for 3 weeks. I have terrible carb cravings. That's my weak point. Sweets I did away with long ago because of my diabetes, but carbs I love. I'm even craving the "good" Carbs, whole grain, quinoa, brown rice, etc. How are you doing?

Pre Op Diets Updates!
My surgery date is 9/5 and I've been doing my pre-op diet for 3 weeks. Protein shake for breakfast and lunch, dinner is 6 oz lean protein and veggies. I need to find a new flavor of shake (or maybe unflavored) but other than that it's going well... counting down the days!

The Stuff They Don't Tell You
I've noticed that too, I thought it was just me being "weak-willed" or something but there are days when I am a rock, you could eat a 7 course meal of my favorite foods in front of me and I wouldn't touch them; and there are days when anything that can't run away under it's own power stands a good chance of being eaten!

How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
instead of milk, has anyone else tried mixing it with Almond Milk or Soy Milk? I like the Almond Milk, not too heavy feeling in the shakes.

Sushi!
Good to know, I love sushi but I was worried it was too carb heavy to tolerate. Thanks!

Thank you so much for a glimpse of the road ahead. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 5th. I'm excited and nervous but hearing your success story has taken away some of the nerves!

To Anyone Intetested!
Thank you for sharing. It helps to know that other people went through this and it turned out great. I'm in the Pre-op stage, I've been on protein drinks and one meal of lean proten & veggies for a week now. I've lost the weight that the Doc wanted me to. Just waiting for the insurance to approve all the paperwork that we've sent in. I have a tentative surgery date of 27 Aug. I've been exercising more and staying far away from carbs although I crave them daily!

Day 1 Preop Diet
I know what you mean milkD, At times, I think I should just try harder and exercise more and focus on eating less on my own. But I've tried that before and failed repeatedly. I have to remember that this is a tool that I need to lose the weight and get healthier. Thank you for showing me that I'm not the only one who has these doubts. It makes me feel better. I hope your surgery goes well.
