Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Small victory, I'm one month out and for the first time, I've been able to eat a small egg beaters omelet with cheese for dinner. Probably 1/2 cup of egg beaters but still it tasted good. I've been able to get down 1/2 of a hard boiled egg made into egg salad but couldn't manage fried eggs. Today felt good, really good - like pre-surgery.

I completely understand. I've done it too often myself. Every day without throwing up I count as a victory.

I Can't Wait To Never Have To Shop At Lane Bryant Ever Again!'
I agree, not just LB but all the Plus size stores. I can't wait for the time when I can walk into any store and try on clothing! I'm so tired of buying something just because it fits (cause that is such a miracle). I'm saving up now for my new wardrobe next year. My husband is hoping I start wearing dresses. I never liked the way they looked on me - I had a big belly, the back was never the same length as the front.

Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick
I had surgery 9/5 and I don't stick myself with blood thinner or anything else, as we find out here- each surgeon is slightly different with both the pre-op and post-op procedures.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I was sleeved on 9/5. I had the same stuck feeling when I tried to eat shakes and later soup and soft mushies. i'm just over 3 weeks out and finally that nasty stuck feeling is mostly gone. If I eat too fast or don't chew well enough it shows up again. But for the most part it's gone (almost overnight it seems like). Hang in there, the swelling will subside from both of your operations and you'll be able to get food in without the stuck feeling too.

Ready4change77 be careful not to become dehydrated, it can make you very tired and you might not feel thirsty. Take care!

Ketosis
Oh, that's why everyone (including my husband) smells bad to me. Whew. I don't have a clue what to do about it though, sorry.

Has anyone's sense of smell changed? Things smell different now, including my husband. LOL. Is this permanent or just a "phase"?

So Here I Am
Congratulations on making this decision. I have diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholestrol (and low thyroid) all of which I've been medicated for over the past 15 years. It's time to get it all under control and this surgery can help. This is a great forum and you'll find support and caring people here. Welcome!

I Thought
I realized today that I don't think about food all the time and I don't constantly feel hungry like I used to. It's a very calm feeling. I like it.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I feel that I did better today, I started using Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein, I'm able to drink 8oz mixed with milk down in about 1/2 hour. I had one for breakfast and lunch (it's easier to have one at work - I don't have to worry about dumping. For dinner I had 5 garbanzo beans (cooked), 1 1/2 tablespoons of refried beans with melted cheddar cheese and 1 teaspoon of guacamole. It tasted so good I really wanted to eat more, but I got that heavy feeling in my throat and stopped. Maybe I'll try another tablespoon later tonight. Maybe I finally have this phase figured out?

73Lbs Down!
Thanks, I appreciate the advice!

73Lbs Down!
newgrandmother, I don't have that problem. I know when I'm full, I burp, then I get the saliva in my mouth and if I've eaten too much, I get a heavy feeling in my chest and my throat. Then it comes back up, I'm having a problem eating slowly enough to get to the point of being full and not taking the next bite that puts me over the edge. I'm tired of throwing up!

i got down two 8 oz protein shakes (20 grams protein each) and about 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese soup for dinner and two tablespoons of garbanzo beans. I tried to eat string cheese for a snack this morning but after 1/2 of it, it came back up. I guess I was trying to hurry too much. Not enough water though...

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Only when I get really hungry and my skinnie Minnie sleeve says it's full after 1/4 cup of soup. But really, no. I don't regret it - this stage will pass and eventually I willl get myself straightened out and eating enough protein.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I still can't get down a whole jello or pudding. the 1/4 cup yogurt would be all I could handle for lunch, I guess everyone heals differently. My surgeon said my esophagus was very swollen, I have no idea what that means but apparently it is slowing down my recovery.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Is anyone else having trouble getting their protein and water in still? I'm 19 days out and I still can't seem to do both. If I drink enough, there is no room for the protein and if I take the protein, I can't drink enough water. Sort of a catch-22 when I'm trying to be so good! On the plus side, I did walk for 2 miles today!

I tried a little (very little) hard boiled egg with light mayo - that didn't end well. I heard that tuna was supposed to be approved, so I tried that. Also not a happy ending. So it's back to the shakes and protein stirred into soup for me for a while longer. Frustrating because it tasted so good!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
I'm 16 days out. I've started on phase 2, soft food but I've also had numerous dumping incidents. I am still trying to eat by sight. I see a small portion and my brain tells me its fine, not too much. But my stomach soon tells me differently. I am working on eating slower and paying attention to my stomach, not my eyes. Eggs are still not my friend, however refried beans are heavenly. Just today I got to eat more than 3 or 4 bites before I was full. I mean, before I was full after 3 bites to the point that licking the spoon sent me running to the bathroom to throw up.

Does Anyone Not Like Their New Look Once Loosing Their Weight?
I'm a little worried about it. I've been obese for 30 yrs too. I have absolutely no idea what I will look like. I'm also worried about sagging skin and wrinkles. But this is for my health, I have too many comorbidities not to do this. So saggy skin or not, hopefully I'll be healthier & happier.

Gas Pain?
I was sleeved on Sep 5th. I've lost 20 lbs but I've noticed repeatedly that I have Sharp pain in my left breast. There are no incisions near there, and it is worse when I sleep on my left side. Could this still be gas in my system?
