  1. I'm a week out today and down 10lbs. No pain meds since day two, and I'm feeling ok. I swear I had more energy over the weekend than yesterday or today. My surgeon allows only 2nd of ensure or isopure or protein shake 3x a day for a total of six ounces period. I've been getting that in with no problem and most of my water. My largest incision hurt last night and I was really afraid maybe I had overdone it over the weekend but it's better today.
  2. Congratulations!!!! I cant wait until I join you there!
  3. Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!!!!!
  4. I was sleeved Tuesday. My release paperwork said if there was a feeling of increased warmth, new or increased pain or any temp over 100 to call the surgeons office. Have you called the doctor yet? It may be nothing but surgery soreness (I was achier than usual this Morning as well) but just to be safe I'd call them
  5. My boyfriend was allowed in recovery, but only briefly as I remember. It was abt 15 mins
  6. I'm 5 days post op and struggling to get all my fluids in. Thank god for sugar free Popsicles.
  7. I'm 5 days out. I went in at 325. Came home Thursday and was 335. Yikes. Today I'm 320. I'll take that. Congratulations!
  8. Sublingual means let it dissolve under your tongue.
  9. I'm 32. Sleeved this past Tuesday, sept 11th!
  10. It was a nuisance but necessary. My catheter bothered me more, because apparently they put it in wrong. That was no fun.
  11. I'm three days post op and first day home today. So happy to have showered. Got all oft ensure in. Working on my water still. So far so good! Congratulations guys!
  12. They said it was likely part of the gas. It's less on day two. Hopefully tomorrow is even less.
  13. I had my sleeve done yesterday. Has anyone had excessive hiccups post surgery? I can't stop
  14. So I got my call. 6am!!! That's only eight hours away! I'm slightly freaking out. And by slightly I mean completely. I'm currently slow cooking a pot roast and potatoes for my father and boyfriend so I know they're fed tomorrow while I'm in the hospital. I cook when im nervous. I'm pretty sure I inherited that from my mother. Certainly didnt get her waistline. Last night I made lemon bars, raspberr bars and chocolate chip cookies, didn't touch a morsel of it and took it over to my fathers this morning. I don't eat beef so this isn't going to be a problem for me tonight. Just nervous energy.
  15. I know! I'm getting the stare. Hopefully the first day of the rest of our lives turns the vibe of that day from tragedy to rebirth, even if just for us.
  16. Who else is going tomorrow? Yikes! Tomorrow!!!
  17. 1. Obtain and maintain a healthy weight 2. Have a baby! 3. Travel. Perhaps before #2 4. Wear high heels without feeling like my ankles are going to collapse 5. Get a tattoo. A quarter to half sleeve. 6. Start my own business. 7. Complete a 26.2 marathon
  18. I'll strip my fingernails but keep my toes painted. I'll bring remover just in case but I'd like to spare people my gross flintstone feet if possible.
  19. I love honesty. Sugar coating helps no one. I want the nitty gritty details. Possible cath. Uncomfortable drain. No solids for a least a month. I like when it sounds really bad so I'm pleasantly surprised if something isnt as awful as I'm expecting. I'm insane.
  20. Where is the drain goig to be? I know that sounds stupid but the only other surgery I've ever had is a tonsillectomy (I was 28!) so I'm so clueless! Did the drain hurt? I'm so happy you're doing well!
  21. I'm going 9/11 too! I stopped eating solids Friday night though. My doctor didn't require a liquid diet pre op but I'm trying to be safe and shrink my liver to make surgery a little easier. If it were me personally I wouldn't risk a big meal today, especially one with high fats. I'm Italian and though it's delicious it's a very rich food type. I don't know. I wouldn't. But maybe if she's eating have one bite. I wouldn't have a whole meal though.
  22. Oh boy! I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you! Does anyone know, my paperwork said no nailpolish during surgery... I think it's so they can watch your fingers for circulation... Should I take my toenail polish off too? My feet are so ugly without it but I want to be compliant!
  23. I'm worried for complications too. More so worried about general hospital germs. I'm thankful this will be done lapriscopically to minimize the risk of wound infection. I'm terrified for leaks though.
  24. I'm a huge child with certain things. Cut my stomach? Oh that's fine. Stay overnight and cath me? That's a problem. I just need to get out of my own way and do this!
  25. Oh jeez! Definately see how you feel. My grandmother was a hoarder, I completely understand!!
