  1. Oh my goodness. 3 and 5. I love toddlers. I'll be thinking of you when I think to complain about anything post surgery and I'll keep my big mouth shut. See how you feel though before counting out MIL. Maybe she can even take the kids to her house so you can avoid her and not have to solo midnight potty duty?
  2. Oh my! You're a brave soul. How old are the kids?
  3. They mentioned a catheter. Not going to lie it was almost a deal breaker for me. Does anyone remember being awake and still having a catheter or is it removed before you come to?
  4. Ha!! I don't have children but I manage a group home so I can sort of relate... I took personal time for half of last week to get myself mentally prepared and destressed. I can't imagine how much more difficult this process must be with children and a family to take care of.
  5. I go Sept 11th... My doctor said we didn't have to do a formal pre op diet, just to do whatever diet we've been most successful on thus far... I stopped eating solids today, just in case. Hopefully by Tuesday I'll be completely cleaned out and my liver will have gotten small enough to not cause any issues.
  6. Hello everyone. I've been lurking for a while and didn't want to get my hopes too high but my insurance company FINALLY approved my sleeve and I'm going in Tuesday the 11th! I'm more nervous about the overnight stay in the hospital than anything. I'm so happy to see so many people going though this at the same time!!
  7. Hello! Last week I completed my requisite pre operative psych consult and nutrition consult. I'm waiting for the reports to be sent over to my surgeon's office so they can contact me for my appointment with the surgeon. I'm very excited for this and have already been making changes to my regular "routines" to hopefully facilitate a smaller adjustment period after surgery. Any advice or info anyone has is appreciated as I can read all of the articles and journals that exist but nothing compares to real life stories of people who have already had this surgery!
