  1. Just on my first week post op and I lost 16.8 pounds.
  2. I am a week out of surgery today and 3 days ago I got the worst hunger, I seriously wanted to eat EVERYTHING. I have been so upset thinking that this surgery might have been a mistake and totally beating myself up. While reading your post I had a breakthrough, I too am pms-ing. I felt like a ton of bricks were taken off my chest when you mentioned this in your post, I realized that IS whats wrong with me. I always get insanely hungry during this time. I was so worried I was always going to feel like this since my surgery is so new but now I know it will pass. You have no idea how much this post meant to me, Thanks for sharing your experience and making me realize what was going on with me !! Best of Luck to you!
  3. Definitely not just you, I really was hoping there was some type of cure for it but maybe its just a side effect of the surgery :/
  4. Thank you so much for sharing! I will have to inquire about an adjustment to my setting also.
  5. I have had the worst pickle craving, I think the skin might be hard to digest though. I totally want that for my first real meal too!!
  6. I am constantly salivating. It isn't thick and it isn't while im eating. Im just constantly salivating :/ I keep thinking im starving and I think it has to do with the saliva out put. Im a week out today. How far are you out cuaya? and has this happen to anyone else?
  7. Perfectly put into perspective!! I whole heartedly agree!!!
  8. I teared up while reading your update, I am so incredibly happy for you!! Thank you so much for sharing your story, its really hard to admit when your having problems and get off track but just know it took a ton of strength to share it and it will help many of us on our journeys <3. NO ONE can prepare for the mental part of this, regardless of age. It is shocking when we come face to face with what a big part food plays in our lives. Its especially hard for those of use who have a severe addiction and turn to it for any and every thing life throws at us... Keep up the excellent work Purple!!! I am going to add you as a friend so I can follow you progress!
  9. I was sleeved sept 27 exactly a week ago this morning and Im down 16.8 lbs since surgery! Thanks for the protein suggestions, I really appreciate it! Thats very interesting about the acid. I will make sure I take my pills. Its really hard to distinguish so early out what is going on in this new mini tummy of mine! I woke up this morning and I am back on track. got in a 20 min walk and my first water bottle! I dont what came over me yesterday but I am back in a good frame of mind and ready to get this weight off The support of all of you has been truly helpful and encouraging, beyond words... Thank you <3
  10. I feel you so much. Today my dr. allowed me to eat soft foods and I went over board. My portion sizes were too big, i felt starving all day and I ate 5 saltines. I never thought I would behave this way. Tomorrow is a new day and I have to get back on track and I am sure you will too. its really hard figuring out when your full, jeeze the entire eating again is hard. I really hope things get back on track for you. Please keep us updated (((((((huge hugs)))))))))
  11. Im not sure how that works. Seems like you would be able to. My Dr. said before hand he would remove 85 percent but im not sure that actually happened. I started soft foods today and I can fit way too much in the sleeve comfortably. That really scares me. Really think about it. Might not be as effective if its bigger?
  12. Did you have any hunger the first few weeks? Does eating those really small portions become habbit?
  13. Welcome! This is such a helpful site, Best of luck on your journey!!
  14. I found this last night and I was SHOCKED by how many yummy creative recipes were on here with less than 5 grams of carbs. I hope this helps!! http://yourlighterside.com/low-carb-gluten-free-main-dish-recipes/
  15. Thank you so much for sharing! I went out to buy protein and I was suprised by how high the calories were. 170 for 30grams and they all had some sugar at rite aid. I decided to order online instead. Are there any low calorie sugar free brands that you all might suggest?
  16. Very true, I just got released today on soft foods and full liquids. I need to go buy protein shakes since I can start them today.
  17. The pain wasnt so bad, I think you will be suprised! The biggest issue I am having now and it just showed up is wanting to eat, constantly. It seems like most people dont feel hunger for a while though so thats good! As far as the surgery and recovery though, it was so much easier than I had expected. Dont give up and good luck!!
  18. I ate 5 saltines and I am less than a week out of surgery :'( I cant believe I would do this to myself. I read about people who cheated and was in disbelief that they would have surgery and do that to themselves. I seriously couldnt fathom how any one could be the weak willed and viola, here I am 6 days out eating crackers... terrible. I could have injured my stomach. I dont know what the hell is wrong with me. I am so incredibly upset with myself. I was not at all prepared to have any hunger after this surgery. Boy was I wrong. the last three days I feel like I am starving. I obviously cant re do eating those crackers but I hope and pray with every bit in me I learned my lesson. I am so ashamed. I hope this isnt a preview of what is to come with me...
  19. I am with Jaded, I really hope this gets easier...
  20. Interestingly enough, two days after this post hunger hit me like a ton of bricks Im not sure if its head hunger or physical hunger but it is rough. I am able to start full liquids and super soft foods today so I really REALLY hope it helps. I was wishing the hunger wouldnt come back but I am so relieved to see sucess stories even when it comes back! Thanks for sharing!!
  21. Dr. appointment went well, they actually said I could start on soft foods, crazy! I was 17lbs down since surgery last thursday which seems insane. The head hunger has really got a hold on me though, the last two days I feel like im starving. I really hope the protein shakes and soft foods curb it but I have a bad feeling it is all in my mind. Time to do some serious soul searching and reflecting on why I did this in the first place so I can stay on the program as planned. I dont think anyone can prepare for the head hunger, its a monster...
  22. Ya I definitely will! I am hoping he will move me to full liquids!!
  23. Ya I was kind of suprised too. I wish I could atleast have some liquid protein. I feel so depleted and fuzzy brained. Im kind of worried about driving myself to my Dr. appoinment tomorrow because of how I feel. My husband insist I stick to the plan but I would really like to intake some type of liquid nutrients.
  24. I hope things keep progressing so well Teatimed! Astephenson, this has been such a relief! I hope you also have a speedy recovery! I have lost 13lbs in the last five days (insane) and I was able to get 8 off with the pre op diet so I am excited. Only thing is this Clear liquids started taking a toll on me yesterday. I need Protein and Vitamins, im so out of it. Cant wait til this week passes and I can have Protein shakes and start my Vitamin regimine.
  25. Delicious!
