  1. Lisa, what is the amount you consume when eating something like chilli or tuna?
  2. Very true sramos!! Cheers to reining it in! Best wishes to you
  3. Thank you so much for the encouragment Lisa and Amazon, I will definitely be going back to the basics. I really appreciate the suggestions and whole heartedly plan to put them to use. Thanks Ladies <3
  4. I have been making some really bad food and drink choices. I can honestly say I had no idea this would be so hard. I am 5 weeks out and have had no issues with any food and I started eating regular food a week out. Even though I can only eat 20 percent of what I used to eat, the scales not budging because im not making healthy food choices. My question is this, Has anyone messed up the first month but later was able to get it together? With the first month being so crucial for healing and weightloss I have a feeling if I didnt follow the rules during this time I wont get it together... I hope there are others who have struggled the first month but had success and met there goal down the road. really hating myself right now
  5. Did you lose the 60 lbs after surgery in only two months????
  6. I lost 17lbs the first week then barely anything the following four weeks but its my fault. I havent been drinking enough water and been snacking. Back on track though, change sure is hard!
  7. I can eat about half a chicken breast!
  8. I was so worried when I stopped losing weight after week 1. i stalled for almost 3 weeks :/ I tried everything humanly possible to break the stall and I dont believe it can be broke until your body decides to adjust. it just broke the lest few days and with in that short period of time i dropped 7 lbs. YAY, hang in there. It WILL happen for you!
  9. I agree and its AMAZING!!
  10. WOW, great work!!! You must feel so much better
  11. I really hope they are supportive of you too! Just remember, if by chance they are unsupportive at first, you have us! This support group has been a HUGE help for me and so many others. You will always have a place to come and express your concerns, ask questions and celebrate your success. You can do this!! Keep us updated on how things go for you
  12. Not for a year, according to my surgeon
  13. I wasn't worried about what they would say because I made sure to make my mind up 100% before I told them. I have been really overweight my entire life and they have all seen me struggle with it. my parents were not super supportive but I put it down and made sure they knew not to talk badly about my decision but I did allow them to express their concerns (but only once). My brother was totally against it but again I let him express his concern once and told him I didnt want to talk about it again. My husband was extreemly supportive and so are my friends which was really nice. I can only suggest you set boundaries and let them know what you will and wont want to hear from them. Maybe you can simply say if you are not supportive I would appreciate you keep the negativity to yourself! Good Luck Jimbo!!
  14. I actually had a 2 week Stall but I am still very happy because since surgery a month ago I have lost 21 pounds! I started getting so upset and frustrated with myself during the stall and "slow weightloss" but then I really put things back in perspective. If I do my best and lose 20 pounds a month or close to it, I will be down 100 in 6 months!!! How crazy is that?!?! I Isn't it exciting to see the scale moving downward? I know I would not have been able to lose weight and keep it off without my new little tool. I am so thankful for it
  15. I hear excersize will definitely help!
  16. Congrats on getting your date! I too depend heavily on food but for the last four weeks I have been trying to adjust with my new tummy. I think it is completely normal to be a bundle of emotions up until surgery. Afterwards when you start healing up and are on your way down, all the nerves and stress are completely worth it
  17. Welcome Quianna! I have been extreemly overweight as a child and just kept packing on the poounds through out the years. I got sleeved Sept 27th at 327 pounds and I am so happy to see the scale moving downward! This is a challenging journey but it is SO rewarding!!
  18. It gets easier as time goes on!! Hang in there and just know we all go through it
  19. Good for you!! That is really awesome!
  20. That’s really good to know, I totally misunderstood! Thank you for finding and sharing that site, it was so educational and made me feel so much better understanding why stalls happen!!
  21. "The Institute of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of Protein for every kilogram of body weight per day to keep from slowly breaking down their own tissues [39]. That's about 8 grams of protein for every 20 pounds of body weight."http://www.dsfacts.com/protein.html Very interesting, this put me at a need for 120 grams I was checking out a fellow members post about weight stall, http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html, incredibly informative and found this protien information. They also talk about carbs, http://www.dsfacts.com/carbohydrates.html, if your curious
