When Does Hunger Come Back?
TamaraS replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interestingly enough, two days after this post hunger hit me like a ton of bricks Im not sure if its head hunger or physical hunger but it is rough. I am able to start full liquids and super soft foods today so I really REALLY hope it helps. I was wishing the hunger wouldnt come back but I am so relieved to see sucess stories even when it comes back! Thanks for sharing!! -
Shocked By Sleeve Experience!
TamaraS replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. appointment went well, they actually said I could start on soft foods, crazy! I was 17lbs down since surgery last thursday which seems insane. The head hunger has really got a hold on me though, the last two days I feel like im starving. I really hope the protein shakes and soft foods curb it but I have a bad feeling it is all in my mind. Time to do some serious soul searching and reflecting on why I did this in the first place so I can stay on the program as planned. I dont think anyone can prepare for the head hunger, its a monster... -

Shocked By Sleeve Experience!
TamaraS replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya I was kind of suprised too. I wish I could atleast have some liquid protein. I feel so depleted and fuzzy brained. Im kind of worried about driving myself to my Dr. appoinment tomorrow because of how I feel. My husband insist I stick to the plan but I would really like to intake some type of liquid nutrients. -

I Need To Lose 150-180 Pounds, I Need Your Opinions!
TamaraS commented on theby_88's blog entry in theby_88's Blog
I have over 150 lbs to lose also. I saw two different PA's at my surgeons office and they both strongly pushed the bypass on me. I freaked out for the week before surgery. Obviously I wanted to have the weight come off but I really started weighing the pros and cons. Even if I lost 60% instead of 75% of my excess body weight I would not have to deal with malabsorption with the sleeve. I had my surgery thursday morning and I am so very happy I stuck with my original choice. I have healed up so quickly and pain was so minimal to what I had thought it would be. Ive lost 12 pounds in 5 days. It really boils down to if you are commited to following the nutrition plan you will get your weight off. It might be more of a "strugle" since we dont have the malabsorption but if you do it right, you can get to your goal! Follow your heart!! Best of luck to you. -
Couldnt brown urine mean blood in the urine? Makes me worry. Does your insurance have a 24hr oncall nurse you can call? Hope things get better for you Asap

Internal Staple Issues In The Future
TamaraS posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dad made a joke about me setting the metal alarms off in the airport and I started thinking, how will these internal staples effect us in the future? From the picture they use a LOT of staples to hold our stomachs together after reducing them. SO can the staples come loose over time? -

LOL, the metal detector was a joke. The worry in my statement was the staples coming loose and causing injury!!! -

Thanks Mom2five! That is reassuring. I was hoping they wouldnt come lose and cause damage. That makes sense they will be held in place by the scar tissue. -

Im not worried about the metal detectors since I dont fly (my dad was just being silly) but I was hoping they would possibly dissolve over time? -
how about sugar free jello and popsicles?

When Does Hunger Come Back?
TamaraS replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is reassuring to learn that when the hunger comes back, it isn't the same as before the surgery. I would get weak and extremely moody when I got hungry. I was a nightmere to be around :/ As for stimulating the appetite, I actually have no idea. I didn't ever think that would be a problem but I can see how that would make meeting your daily goals very difficult. Hopefully someone on here will have an answer for you AMW157. That has to be rough. -
Four Days Away From Meeting My New Self.
TamaraS replied to JordannChristina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I feel the exact same way Jordann! I just had surgery thursday morning and I cant believe how my biiggest addiction (food) which was always on my mind, has now become the furthest thing from my mind. I have found this process to be so much easier than I had thought although still early, getting through surgery and the week that follows was terrifying but things have been moving along very well! I hope for you the best on your journey! The sleeve is such an amazing tool and definitely can make dreams come true! Keep us posted on your journey -
Looking great!! Wish I had some info on dating but Im clueless. I hope you meet someone wonderful though

Clear Liquid Stage, Must Try!
TamaraS replied to TamaraS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good to know, Thanks Frza! -
I didnt want anything but tea and water after surgery. I found the hospital broth and crystal light gross. I just went to the store and picked up Knorr Homestyle Stock and Ensure Clear Liquid peach flavor. The broth is seriously the best tasting broth I have ever had and I found the clear ensure to be tasty and it has 9 grams of protein. Its hard to find things easy to drink after surgery but these two are winners in my book!
