Insurance And Bmi
Get the "cpt code" off the internet for your particular surgery. Call you insurance company and ask them what the requirements are for that cpt code. Your doctors office should be very versed on how to get you approved. When I got approved they had all kinds of co morbids that I am not so sure I agreed with, but I dont care, I got approved.

Dumping?
Drink something hot, take gas x and walk around the house as much as you can. Tonight I ate something and within 2 minutes was off to the bathroom dry heaving, found that I must have gotten a pocket of gas somewhere. I could tell because it felt like the gas I had in the first 2 weeks and I drank some coffee, took some gas x and started burping the gas out. It took me 2 hours to get rid of it, but I finally did. At first I thought I was dumping from a canned mushroom, only to figure out it was gas, and to be honest not real fun. Best of luck getting rid of it, just telling you what works for me..

Post-Op
This whole thread has made me laugh. I will give you some of my "unexpected" list 1. After surgery you will be amazed how hard it is to move in the bed I was pushed by my mother to get out of bed the first night to walk, I was glad I did, she had surgery 8 yrs ago and knew what wa right and wrong. Thank goodness I have her. 2. Gas pains, Omg... The worst part for me, it was worse than incision pain, gas x, and hot fluids and walking it out helped the most. It was rising to my shoulder when I laid down and made it hard to sleep. It took a good 16 days afte surgery til gone. 3. Having to remember NOT to tasty food I was cooking for others. 4. Getting in enough Water and Protein 5. Hormonal changes, wow, tears, getting impatient quick.

Friday Weigh-In!
I am sorry to hear about those that have a lacking of support from family and friends. I have been very fortunate as both my mother and sister have had successful surgeries and my family has Seen how much healthier they are now. My lack of support came from my employer who fired me 10 days before the surgery with a bogus Claim. I am laughing as I collect unemployment and spend the summer healing and time with my son. I hated the job and the mangers sister had surgery and failed miserably. I love the support of this forum and wished we could all get together. I look forward to talking to people that are going through the same thing right here and now . Prayers to all of you.
