NSV lately?
I wore my first pair of skinny jeans. Me and skinny in the same sentence, crazy.

Curves
I did the Curves curcuit with a 1200 cal a day diet and lost 60 lbs about 11 years ago. I think it is a great place to start. If you were like me and not comfortable in gyms, stared blankly at weight racks, Curves takes all that intimidation away. However like others have said, you will find that after a certain point you will need more intensity than a Curves workout provides to keep making progress. I now workout with a personal trainer to ensure that I workout with the proper intensity and to get encouragement.

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Intermittent fasting. There are a couple of threads in the vet's forum but in a nutshell you eat 500 calories 2 days a week and regular maintenance calories the other 5 days. The overall deficit causes weight loss.

The best cottage cheese?
I like Daisy brand, no additives or unpronounceable ingredients.

Stretch marks HELP!
I have read about skin rolling for stretch marks. It is supposed to rebuild the collagen in those areas. I've never tried it (seems too medieval for me) but it seems like the only thing sub-dermal. Topical creams etc, don't really work. Good luck!

What does your grocery list look like?
Protein sources; Low fat cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, string cheese, stuffed chicken breasts, chicken sausage, Quest bars. A small amount of fruit: no sugar added apple sauce, apple chips. Lots of veggies: kale, shredded cabbage, salad mix, carrots, sprouts. Low cal beverage: high protein milk, torani syrup, water enhancers, and diet lemonade. Carbs: fingerling potatoes, sweet potatoes, Kim's magic pop, high fiber tortillas.

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
I have a bunch of Herbalife but don't like the macros except on the plain, flavorless powder. I still drink Premiere because it ready to drink vs having to pull out the blender - hassle.

Starting with a trainer today
I've been working with a trainer since September. I now have defined triceps and biceps! I was able to score a great deal by prepaying a bunch of months in advance. I plan to stick with my trainer for as long as I can afford. My trainer keeps me accountable, ensures I work out properly with good form, and pushes me more than I would if I tried to do it on my own. I'm glad your excited! The first few workouts will be tough and you will be sore but if you stick with it- you'll be glad you did.

2014 - Where have all the "ole-timers" gone?
Nice shout out to the ol' timers! LOL. I miss those folks as well. I also appreciate the newest generation of vets you mentioned as well for their advice and experience. I'm greatful that they give their time to answer questions (the same ones over and over!) by all the newbies. I also love it when folks come back after an absence like Queen of Crop, etc. PS- Sleeve of Steel still posts from time to time. Tiffykins and Diva moved over to facebook.

I'll show you mine... (LBD's)
No plastics here. I find ruching and certain types of dresses (a line, empire waist, fit& flare) camouflage my tummy and panni better than others. It's definitely trial and error. Plus there aren't any good stores where you are.

Thoroughly unscientific poll
I use my personal goal of 140. I felt deflated when I first heard my surgeon's goal for me (btwn 170-160). I thought, that's it? You're going to take 85% of my stomach and that's all I can expect to lose? I hit his goal for me in 6 months and am working towards hitting my personal goal which I revised to be between 135 and 139 so I have a little wiggle room. To come up with my personal goal I used a variety of indicators: BMI, body fat percentage, and height/weight charts.
