  3. I've been on full liquids since the day after surgery, and am also dealing with head hunger. I feel like I could take someone out for a patty melt!!! I also don't really feel full - just stop after the required amount because I don't want to get to that "overfull" feeling. I go for my post-op dr's appointment on Thursday.
  4. Hey Susan...thanks for checking!! It went really well. He had to repair a small hernia, so I'm still a little sore. And the gas pain was REALLY bad on Wednesday, but walking and simethicone helped. It finally went totally away today. But I drove for the first time today and that helped with the cabin fever a lot. But over all, feeling pretty good. All pre-op freak-out fears have abated lol.
  5. Feeling much better today. Have been having a lot of gas pain and he has to repair a small hernia, so that's been sore. But so far so good. Just trying to get my water in.
  6. 7:30 for me too. Sending up prayers all around.
  7. Susan...thank for "holding my hand"! I can use all of the support I can get! Need-a -Sleeve...we can be sleeve buddies and walk on this journey together! Queen...thanks for the45-week out insight! I will read your blog ASAP...I'm sure I will find many nuggets that I need to get me through. I love this site and all of the great peeps on here!!!
  8. Thank you all for helping to talk me off the ledge! I do feel so much better!! I think it was one of those things where I needed to get the fear out of my head and then I felt better. I do know unquestionably that this is the right decision for me, but I think it's the fear of the unknown that got to me.
  9. OK ya'll...my surgery is on Tuesday and I am having a MAJOR freakout!!!! Please tell me FOR REAL the Good, the Bad and the UGLY!!! I'm soooo tired of protein shakes and I'm scared of food intolerances and my tasted buds changing and what if I can never eat salad again and oh I don't know...EVERYTHING!! For those of you who truly do not regret getting the surgery, aside from the weight loss, please tell me why you are glad that you did it. I know you all have answered this question countless times before but I'm on the edge ya'll...HELP!!!!!
  10. Me too me too!! My surgery is scheduled for the 28th. A little...OK..a LOT nervous, but finally more excited than nervous. Very thankful that the pre-op diet hs not been too difficult, but I do get to eat one low-carb meal a day so that helps a lot
  11. Weird as it sounds, Splenda and cinnamon is really good on cottage cheese...old Weight Watchers trick
  12. That is SO one of my goals...to not have to shop in a store named after a woman (Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, Catherine's)! And to not have a "W" following the number in my clothes! @saraHR0...NY & Co is the #1 store I can't wait to shop in...
  13. I start mine tomorrow! Surgery date on 8/28...nervouse, but excited...Good luck tomorrow!

OK...so one of the things I am most looking look forward to post-op (surgery is Aug. 28th) is wearing boots. After more than 30 years of being overweight and more than 20 trucking up 3 flights of stairs in my parents house, my calves don't fit into "regular" knee-high boots. I just want to fit and buy and wear a pair of boots that actually zip up all the way and maybe even, dare I say it...can tuck a pair of jeans into! Have any of you post-op ladies acheived my dream yet? Just looking for a little Wednesday optimism... V
  16. Thank you so much for posting this! I am offically 22 days from my surgery date, and all if a sudden have become extremely nervous! I know that this is absolutely the right decision for me as I too, have struggled with my weight for more than 30 years (just turned 45) and have tried every diet more than once. I have gained approx. 20 lbs over the last 6 months, and deceided that this is it - I can't do this anymore! I think my nervousness is just fear of the unknown, but at the end of the day, I am ready. So thanks again!
  17. I have struggled with these feelings as well. And I felt (OK..sometimes still feel) doubly ashamed because I am a Registered Dietitian who sometimes works in a surgical weight loss clinic - go figure! But I had to come to the realization, with a lot of therapy and prayer and wise counsel, that I am doing this for my health, and that everyone needs help. And it also took a friend of mine who has had RYN to help me see that I will actually be able to better help my patients because I will truly understand what theyhave gone and are going through. I had a hard time telling my boss as well because she is a "streotypical Type-A personality" RD, so I wasn't sure how she was going to react. But I've been struggling with my weight and all of the accompany issues, including clincal depression, for over 30 years, and I'm am tired. So, I had to get myself to a place where I am at peace with myself and my decision. And now, I am just ready to get on with it and have the 2nd half of my life be so much better than the 1st!
