I wish u both success you will do great. I had surgery 10/29/12 down 87 pounds it is truly worth it but u must b committed to the process and mainly to yourself. There will come a time when your stomach will heal and thats when u will begin your battle. So form great behaviors NOW Water, commitment to self, exercise and renew your mind u sb ok. Good luck don't forget to pray and ask God for help he is always there.

Go back to basics! 800 calories max per day, 60-70 grams of Protein, 64 ounces of Water, exercise 3-5 days a week for 45 minutes. Stay away from bad carbohydrates Pasta, chips, cake, cookies, ice cream, fried chicken, pizza, . stick to vegetables and fruits for your carbs. Once your back on the wagon don't stop keep going till you get to goal! Weight your self every week! that will keep the weight from creeping up on you without you noticing. Another idea which is my ultimate gift to my self is gonna be a waist necklace? not sure if that's what they call it but its a necklace that goes around your waist. I wanna buy one so if I gain a little weight it will get tight and help me stay on track plus I think it would look nice just a thought I wanted to share

The surgery to me was the easy part. Changing eating habits was the real hard stuff, and it's the most important part of weight loss success. I agree with the others, what's done is done and it sounds like you already know it's not working - move on, move forward. Do you have a nutritionist available to you as part of your doctor's program? Because it's not just straight calories you need to watch, but what is making up those calories - the ratio of Protein, Fiber, carbs, sugars, fats, etc. And yes, it's too soon for junk food. I found my stomach to be very funky about high-fat, fried, or otherwise "junk" foods for the first 4-6 months. Even now, I can't do fried very well. Junk food is made from inferior and questionable ingredients anyhow, it's horrible for your body in many ways and should be seen as a TREAT to enjoy from time to time.
Try to think of healthy, fresh, organic, REAL FOOD that will not only help you lose weight but will help you sleep, think, and feel so much better every day.
Also, are you drinking plenty of Water and fluids? That will slow down weight loss dramatically. At least 64oz per day, up to 80oz if you can do it.

I think a good thing to reflect upon, is why did you have this surgery? We just made the most radical step we could of made, to assist us in losing weight..
Now is the time to stay on task to get what you want and what you need
I always think about how lucky we are to have been able to do this! Do you know how many people in our situation WISH they could do what we are doing?
Love you choice love yourself and use this gift!

Good evening everyone, I was sleeved on 2/5 and so far I've lost 33 lbs (yay) but for the pasts 2 weeks I've been eating fast food but in very small increments (a quarter to half at most) and then my body rejects it and I throw up but I'm finding it hard to get back on the wagon. I walk for a hour a day and my calorie intake is never more than 700 and the calories I burn from my walks are 400 and seeing a low intake is how I rationalize eating unhealthy foods and snacks....anyone else had/having this issue?

just take it one day at a time, or one meal at a time if you have to. The biggest thing with meals i've found is to plan ahead. Write up meal plans and menus. Focus on the good things you are doing, like keeping up the walking. But do not beat yourself up about it. You made a mistake, you have recognized and acknowledged it and are taking steps to correct it. You are human, and we all make mistakes, it's ok. You can do this! You can get back on the wagon and you have the support of all here behind you.

You don't need to beat yourself up any longer over this, what's done is done. You must always remember, we are food addicts and food will always be plentiful. We must learn to navigate through this jungle if we are going to be successful. Try preparing your meals at home and bring them with you, so you will be less likely to stop at a FF joint. Ultimately you will have to buckle down and make the correct choices, all the encouragement in the world cant make you. This is one thing you will have to make the choice to do for yourself, you have been given a wonderful tool that can truly change your life. So MzGray29 go out and be amazing.

I am 6.5 months and my stomach still makes noises. It is not hungry just dijestive noises. Make sure you eat slow, small bites, measure your food portions. You really have to change the way you eat. Use baby size utensils and put your fork/spoon down after every bite, you can do it!!

Just made my 2 month post op date. I've lost 50 Ibs so far. Can't believe it, I finally looked at some pictures of myself to see if there really is a difference. (Been told by many that I look like I've lost some weight). Couldn't believe the difference just two months has made. Can't wait and see what the up coming months have to hold. Have no regrets about my sleeve, couldn't be more happier. So decided I would post a couple of pics.

26 pound weight loss since surgery Nov. 13th. It's so frustrating I don't regret having surgery. I love my sleeve, I had lost 4 pounds right before surgery and so 30 pounds have really helped my small 5'0 frame. Hey! as long as the scale keeps going down I shouldn't complain. On a good note my body's getting enough time to bounce back. ..... Anyway happy Sunday y'all.

Hi November sleevers..... Figured I give my update. Sleeved Nov 1 2012.... Best decision of my life.... Started at 260.... I am now 190... The last month has been very very slow but I'm losing inches and fat percentage. I work out hard 5 days a week ( burning between 500 and 700 calories). Weight training is essential! I eat about 1100 to 1200 calories a day and really limit my carbs . I don't drink enough Water which I know is not good and would probably help me speed things up a bit more... Bit I'm working on it. My surgeon is awesome and is pleased with everything ( my blood work is perfect, my sleep apnea is gone , and my blood pressure is normal). He reminds me constantly that it is not a race but rather a journey. Remember this is for life so don't get discouraged. Keep at it!

LHT reacted to lexysdad04 in How do you know if you have a leak ?
Here's what I found as the symptoms from another site
Symptoms of stomach leak include: rapid heart rate, dizziness, shortness of breath, fever, worsening abdominal pain, left chest or shoulder pain, abdominal distention, the appearance of illness and a general feeling that something is very wrong. Unfortunately, many of the symptoms may be absent or could be from something else (e.g. bleeding). Diagnosing a leak is further complicated by the fact that there is no single, reliable test to definitely diagnose a leak.
Hope that helps, and hope you just asking out of curiosity and not because you might have one

It started bothering me Xmas eve. By thus day the 27 I had my son drive me to the ER. Had appointment with urologist on the 28 th and surgery that night. They said I could wait it out, but it could be a couple of weeks. I own a small restaurant, so opted for surgery. The dr came out and told me it was lodged and wouldn't have come out itself. So surgery was a good option. I was back to wrk on Wednesday due to new years tired and sore but could o my work. I hope it passes quickly for you, this is one pain I do not wish upon anyone....

I have one that is the diameter of a golfball. Just one. My PCP said don't bother with surgery. It's been there for a long time and I'll never pass it. Guess that is what a lifetime of yoyo dieting can do to you.
