Slim Lola Slim got a reaction from blueyz80 in January 9Th I've Got A Date With My Surgeon! Yay!
It's been a while since I posted last, as I haven't had much to share. Well, now I am happy to say that I've got a date! January 9th!!!
The scheduler called me this afternoon, I almost didn't answer because it was an "unknown caller" and I was just waking up from a nap. But I answered and was given the date! So unreal, especially since I was half awake and I had to repeat everything she said and write it down as she confirmed it, lol! So now I will have a 4 week liquid only diet starting on Dec 9th, and must lose 23 pounds before the surgery.
I'm excited and still in a daze that I have a date!

Slim Lola Slim got a reaction from gamergirl in Horrified by my near-nekkid pictures
I have pretty much avoided being in pictures for years, when I did take them I usually hid behind everyone or stategically placed one of the kids in front of me. Then I was sad as I went thru pics and didn't have me and my kids together. Now even though I'm still heavy and am coming to terms with this is how I really look. I am embracing it because I know I am changing it soon. I want to remember what it was like, how I looked and felt about. So once the pounds begin to shed I can see where I came from and where I'm going. I don't love my size now, but I don't hate myself either, I've been thru alot in my life and I give myself credit and love for making it thru. Yeah the pounds added up, but now as I feel better about me, I am ready to take the pounds off. I've put everyone first and now I love me and am putting myself first.
I know I won't be perfect, I will most likely sag and droop but it beats how I feel now, big, saggy and droopy, lol, so I will just subtract the "big" from that equation. If I think I need plastics, then I will do just that

Slim Lola Slim got a reaction from elora77 in My Journey is officially starting!
    Hello All!
This is my first post here as now I am officially on board for WLS! I joined VST a little over a year ago when a dear friend started her journey and had VSG. I replied to a few posts but never posted my own, since I had no idea when I would be starting the process.
I was living in California when I joined VST and was planning to go to Mexico to get sleeved. Life changed and I now live in Sweden and wasn't sure if I'd ever have WLS. I spoke with my primary Dr and asked about WLS and was happy to learn they offer VSG and RNY to those who qualify with BMI and weight related health condtions. Sad but fortunately I qualify.
So now I will be going to the information group and meeting my surgeon on Aug 21st! Hoping I can have surgery in Sept-Oct. So now I shall try to participate more and embrace the change that is to come

I'm in the same boat :-) I live in Sweden and they do it a little different here, so it's pretty frustrating trying to compare notes. I have my first info meeting Aug 21st. I will meet the Nut, Surgeon and whoever else, then at the same meeting have a one on one with the surgeon and Nut. Then by the powers that be, I should get my surgery date by the end of the meeting.
I am pushing for the sleeve as my primary dr said they cover them now, so if the surgeon agrees it's right for me that's what it shall be,( otherwise I may have RNY. ) Either way I am so ready! Hopefully, I will have sleeve surgery in Sept/Oct and will be cool to have company on the journey with you all :-)

I can't do that now for several reasons...
I didn't make a list of ten bc I think I have a thousand things I am looking forward to

Thanks for starting this! My surgery is July 2nd and here are my ten things:
    1. Wear all my old favourite clothes in little sizes. I have held on to them for ten years!
    2. Have a long, leisurely soak in my RV-sized bath tub!
    3. Go on a trail ride. I just couldn't do this to a horse right now!
    4. Ride my bike on this special trail we have near my home....it's about three hours on an old rail bed, down-hill through a forest all the way but I don't have the stamina right now.
    5. Buy roller skates and use them up and down my back alley!
    6. Visit my family in England. The flight and walking around for all the sight-seeing overwhelms me right now--never mind having my family seeing me 100 pounds heavier than my last visit.
    7. Have coffee and a good visit with a few ex-boyfriends who remain friends and stay in touch, and don't understand why I avoid them.
    8. Order a pile of adorable dresses and cardigans from Modcloth and Anthropologie.
    9. Wear my beautiful rings and bracelets again.
    10. Buy lots of super-cool antique and vintage clothes, which don't seem to come in plus sizes!
I think I have many more, but that's a good start!
